    Something different about this beautiful, adventurous video is that there is no cycling.

    A magical place. Mood well captured with video and music. Somehow melancholic, yet beautiful.

      Yes it's a special place; but having been there twice now, and being so small, I hope we don't go back!

    Well done video, Waddo! I have seen the majority of your recent videos and your learning curve is impressive, very talented you are. By now as a result of the long enternteinment sessions, I feel like you and Yuki are like two good friends of mine. I`m waving back on mirrors when see you both. Love and respect, Rod.

    Wonderful video, really enjoyed it. You are lucky to have Yuki, to enjoy everything with you. Looking forward to seeing your return visit to the small island.

      I agree, though I did a short solo trip to Ibaraki a few years ago and I enjoyed the solitude. Both have there good points. We went there again this spring. Unfortunately it was not as enjoyable at this trip. For a change I have decided to write my own piano music for the video, so even though it will be relatively short, it will probably take longer than usual to finish. Hopefully before our summer tour starts!

      Yes she is. Before I met her the most strenuous thing she did was make a cup of tea! We are going back to the small island for ten days in spring, so she obviously likes walking!

      @@kennethnicholls8172 in a week or three. It will not be very interesting though as we returned to Amami, this time spending more time on the small island, Kakeroma, beside. Even for me the prospect of editing it was grim. So I decided to write and record my own piano music instead of using other peoples. So with only piano music, at least it has a very different feel.

    Great video as always. It looks like a nice place for a slow bike ride.

      @waddo  5 місяців тому +1

      Actually most of it is too mountainous and riding would be a killer. And going down might literally kill you! The flat area is also the main corridor with lots of traffic--that's where we usually hopped on a bus.

    A few days ago was my birthday only today I have time to celebrate it... your video will be on the big screen ✌🎂🍰🍻

      Happy birthday and lucky to have a big screen! We have no TV and watch on Yuki's old 27 inch iMac. I few months ago we were at her mum's place and watch 88 Temples on her new giant screen TV. It was amazing!

    Just curious, what kinda of animals or insects you encounter along this trip? With Hiking trolley able to bring better camping gears, such as Cot. Basically, one can't find a single traffic light and overhead bridge....is a far far away for one to walk with the wind.

    • @waddo
      @waddo  Місяць тому

      There are deadly poisonous snakes which we were always watching for; so we didn't walk or camp on long grass. Other than that there are some ancient black rabbits, but they are active at night when we are sleeping so we only saw their droppings. Other animals, I'm not sure because we didn't see any. For us it was the tropical birds that we saw most. You could hike with a trolly but as soon as you get off the road the trolly would be useless and something very heavy to carry. I think sleeping mats are more comfortable than a cot; only car campers use cots and I think just because it looks like a bed. We sleep on the floor at home on a traditional tatami mat room with futons, so it is basically the same as camping! We returned for a final visit to Amami and the island next to it this spring: plane tickets only cost about 70 US dollars! I'm in the middle of editing it now so stay tuned.

      @@waddo Thanks for taking time to reply. Overall, this particular trip has given me a mixed Nagasaki and Kochi vibes, i.e. Hidden Christians and the Windy Kochi Long Coast to Coast walks. Occasionally, too windy are making aged person headache and rushing noise too, hard to sleep well.

    • @waddo

      @@clementihammock7572 Plenty of time to sleep when we are dead! Embrace the adventure. My wife Yuki will disagree, but bad weather-biking or hiking-just makes it more of an adventure. At the same time, she loves our winter tours and being in the tent when it's -10 outside. If you have good gear, everything is manageable and even enjoyable.

    Clicks meaning kilometers? Is that to signal that you were in the military? Why not just say kilometers then?
