Being Florida and went to Bike Week from 1995-2000, looks like Mardi Gras now? “Back in my day” it was for Bikers. The bars were dives, the bikes were Vtwins from chops to clown wagons, and Main Street was for weenies. Once I saw Ness, Simms and WCC in 2000 I knew California was the Mecca, different dimension those guys were from and took the plunge and moved here. 24 years later seen so much. Out here it’s lots of small weekend events, shows and runs. Kernville Campout, Chopperfest, Born Free, Diablo Run, Paridise Road, on and on. But regardless never forget how awesome the experience was those years at Bikeweek. Hopefully the people now are carrying the torch, look forward to the next time I can get back there to experience.

I went to Daytona from 89 to 97. I never hit main street and the fags on slow pig Harleys. I hung at the track where real dudes with cast iron balls risking their lives doing 180+ mph hang.

They are trying to avoid being ran over by all those people in cagers head deep into their smartphones. It's getting crazy out there. I have had so many come into my lane, I just don't get mad anymore. I will say most of them are women and teens. Ride safe out there.

Ride long enough and it's like you said you don't get mad anymore at every little encounter. It's the risk that comes with riding and we'll take it. If they can't see you in a 6000lb SUV you know they ain't gonna see you on a bike. Keep the rubber side down 🤙

I am a girl of the sixties and at that time lived in Daytona Beach. Big difference in bikers today and their Bikes. My dad would not let me within 15 miles of the beach back then during Bike week!

These are hard to watch now. 59, started on a Rupp when I was 9. Nerve problems with legs now after 40 years as a Diesel Mechanic, dropped down to My 883 cause I don't have the strength/trust in My legs anymore and long rides hurt (a lot). I'll keep riding till I can't pick My bike up. I pray that's a long time but My "Bike weeks" are over, reality.
Is that your chopper in your thumbnail? 883 lbs on a Harley must be a terrifying sight! Try Gabapentin for your legs - have your doctor write a prescription.
