That scream at the end always sends shivers down my spine. Godzilla isn't just a monster, he's still an animal. An animal realizing that he cannot do anything but cry in terror. To us, it's the mouth of a volcano. To Godzilla, it's what he see's as the light getting closer and closer until it doesn't.

This is one of personal favorites, for one it goes back to it's 1954 roots with actor Raymond Burr the only survivor in Tokyo in 1954, and to reprise him in this one is awesome. also that part of the movie were he narrates how Godzilla is like a hurricane and how we as humans must approach him like a force of nature, straight awesomeness!💯👍👍👍. P.S. the music in this movie also wonderful Great Movie!

Absolutely harmless".........................................my head hurts, it really hurts. The best was the original, and I don't mean 1956. Gojira. Original. Everything since with skanky science, bullshit scenarios. Watch Gojira, 1954, subtitles. It's still the best, even with subtitles. The only thing that could improve it would be a really good English audio track.

I still can't understand why this classic was 'shoved aside' and basically ignored by Toho for so long! DEFINITELY one of the better Godzilla films in my opinion! With the animatronics and mechanical versions utilized for this the horrìfying aspects of the mutated, radioactive lizard seemed far superior than the silly, juvenile-themed 'puppy dog' muppet suit we were given in some of the later offerings! And now, asof 2024, we have come full circle to the unstoppable wrath of Nature with the best version of all: "Godzilla Minus One!" Let the legend continue!

I did some research on this particular movie of Godzilla. Add due to political reasons it was never able to be released in any other way other than VHS. How they finally got through the legal red tape to allow this particular movie to be aired in any other way, is groundbreaking news. Whoever got this thing to be released God bless him. I had no idea that Raymond Burr was in this. I honestly thought someone crossed the video with some 80s TV movie (quality wasn't great). Checked on IMDB and yes he is in it. Seems like his scenes were shot by an American unit and added in order to try to sell the film to the US market (a bit like redoing the unmasked scenes with different actors speaking different languages for Power Rangers).

The definitive Godzilla movie other than the original. It kills all the stupid shit that happened in the three decades between '54 and '84 and makes him a serious monster, a terror again, like he was supposed to be. While in year of 1985 in Rochester, N.Y., I went to see “ Godzilla 1985” as the popular summer blockbuster movie in the local theater. In middle of the movie, the advanced technological top- secret Japanese armored aircraft that was anti- gravity and air- propelled in its controls fought with Godzilla in the destructive battles as Godzilla screamed out louder as the same Japanese armored aircraft moved horizontally into hiding behind several tall buildings being armed with missiles and red lasers targeting at Godzilla in many times In fights in continued battles until Godzilla last slapped the tall skyscraper with its strong blow in its right claw onto the the Japanese armored aircraft on the landing to be flattened in wrath. Godzilla vented out of full of frustrations as it loudly roared. Only Godzilla last drowned into the red lava in the volcano after these hidden explosions blew up when Godzilla followed the large highly sonic sound dish that guided it into the volcano crater. At end of its life, Godzilla was buried dead in volcano as the volcano finally erupted and shot the lava bombs into the highly air as the lava spilled out. It was end of Godzilla’s life at last.- “ The End” in “ Godzilla 1985” in the movie.
