  • Richard Griot shows us a piece of motorsports history, Ferrari's championship winning F1-2000.
The Ferrari F1-2000 was the company's 47th Formula 1 design. The car was a direct descendant of the F300 and F399 used in the previous two seasons, with some marked improvements.
It utilizes the same basic gearbox, coupled to a new V-10 engine (code named 050) with a wider V-angle that improved and lowered the center of gravity of the car. The motor displaced just under three liters, and could make between 770 and 850 bhp. Bolted transversely on the engine is a seven speed semi-automatic gearbox, that is operated by paddles mounted behind the steering wheel. The transverse mounting of the gearbox helps keep most of the weight within the wheelbase for a better balance.
Michael Schumacher drove the F1-2000 to his third World Drivers' Title, Ferrari's first in 21 years. It also defended Ferrari's constructors' crown, and signified the start of the team's dominance throughout the first half of the decade.
This particular car, chassis #203, won the Canadian Grand Prix and finished second at the French Grand Prix and Hungarian Grand Prix with Michael Schumacher at the helm. Rubens Barrichello also drove this car, placing second at the U.S. Grand Prix and fourth at the Japanese Grand Prix

I've seen this car up close in person at the Griot's Garage in Tacoma. This and every other car there has an amazing story behind it. I'd love to see a ten minute story by Richard Griot on them all. Such an informative and passionate man. Thank you. Keep em coming.

Can you correct the Marlboro logo on the engine cover? It's missing the red triangle. If you care about accuracy of course.

Sure it's nice to own a F1 Ferrari like this one, but people should know that those modern racecars need a 4 hours of servcing and checklist for technical settings.
After those 4 (to 6) hours of patience, U can drive the F1 car (if U even are able to).
