I'm impressed! I'd give one a go. If they're saving money on house brand hardware and electronics but the body and neck are solid.. I have no complaints. Chances are I'd just swap those to taste anyway..
Just got one. Wasn't even planning on getting it but went to the store and the Sterlings and Squires couldn't even come close. Really surprising find and happy I got it! Only downside I'd say is that the finish is kinda cheesy up close (I don't think it's wood grain looks way more like a dip to me) and the head stock decal could use a redesign but besides that it's great!
I tryed this bass out at Sam Ash also today. Im torn between this one and the sunburst 4 string. Beast!!!!!!!!!! “Squire” sucks, thankfully I found the Micheal Kelly brand today and now Im on the hunt for it. Great basses, you can’t go wrong here!!!!
Are you guys planning on reviewing the Pinnacle 5 by Michael Kelly. I really love the look of that bass and would love to hear what you guys think about it.
I also think it really depends on the price you can actually get a bass for. Sure, that bass is likely higher quality than a CV, but what if you got that CV for $380? Any midrange pickups you want and still less than the Kelly... which... to be fair, could also be had for less than MSRP. Not knocking your coverage. Appreciate someone taking the time to show us these instruments and share their thoughts on em, so thanks for that!
It has a volume pot inside it to balance the passive vs active volume. What size Allen wrench does the truss rod take? I just got one and can’t figure it out
I just bought one of these and it's going right back. I stopped counting at 6 bad (high) frets. On every video you can find on this bass you can hear the buzz. You'd need a complete fret leveling to fix this. The action/string height was set a bit higher than 2mm to hide the buzz but that not only did not work but rendered this unplayable. When I engaged the push/pull active knob it was so noisy as to be totally unusable. Now let's talk about that neck. Absolutely the widest neck on any fiver I have ever had. Ridiculously so. Knock Squier all you want. I have had several of them and all beat this bass when it comes to quality and function. I had high hopes for the Michael Kelly. No Daisy at all!
y does no one talks about the Traben chaos 5 oh, I mean Michael Kelly Pinnacle 5 lol ;) which originally was gonna be a skillet sig, yes I remember. last time I played an element it felt like a boat anchor
I could not find a weight on the MK website but I wanna say I saw a reported weight online at around 10.5-11.5 lbs. it didn’t feel that heavy oddly enough
I agree. The pickups sound real cheap, especially at the start. Ugly, too. Nothing against the review/reviewer. If I'm getting an offbrand, I would just go with a Harley Benton and replace all the bits. #opinionz
Squire is outclassed by many manufacturers. This is an example of an instrument that blows Squires away. Great review!
Man that bass sounds amazing!!! And of course the color is🤤
Just got mine from Sam ash for $341. Complete steal. Super excited to really get it set up. Thanks for the video.
Same I got the yellow one I’m calling bad banana 😂
@@Skurvvy I also have the yellow one! Haven’t decided on a name yet.
@@KingPurpose24 nice
Looks and sounds really good, I thought it would be at least double the price. Phenomenal.

Eyy just got one of these last month, love mine

I agree, I tryed several basses, all the ones you mentioned and this bass absolutley smoked them!! This bass is a win at this price.
It looks good and it gets a plus for the 35" scale. I would have to change that bridge pick-up...

Funny I tried one on Sam Ash Florida today also very impressed

That shirt sums up my entire existence as a bass player.

Sweet bass ! 🎸
Could you please review the Michael Kelly Custom collection Element 5R 5 String Bass. What is the difference between the one you Have and the 5R.
The Yamaha BB434/5 is my #1 choice at that price point.

The 435 is technically $579.99 so slightly above the $500 mark but I agree that those are also great basses. I’ll try to get one on the channel soon
@@Therealchuckbailey The MK is a ‘35 scale. The Yamaha 5 string has a floppy B string .
@@WyattLite-n-inn dang really? That sucks I had heard good things on the Yamaha too

Anyone know the string spacing at the bridge for this bass?
What about the Steinberger 5 string thanks

What are the functions of each of the knobs?
I haven’t seen this brand out there in years. I didn’t even realize that they were still around..
How’s the balance on it? I’m considering getting the 4 string version 🤔
Whats t'he weight???

Modern sounding bass
You better be a decent bass player or you will be exposed
Sounds kind of "Clankey." No thank you.

I am gonna give the micheal kelly bass a try good job bro on the orientation thank you.
It’s the player, not the bass. He’s not very good.
