As an American who loves Britain and British humor I think this show is absolutely hysterical. There was also a wonderful singer on the show I can't remember her name but she's not on this particular show. She had a great voice and she sang very rousing songs. I missed her this time around
Oh yes Sunday lunchtime, happy days.
Such memories, such gratitude. We are so fortunate that these programmes are still available online. As a great Hancock fan, I am sad to learn that the BBC destroyed several of the tv half hour programmes. These wonderful shows will last forever. England, January, 2024.
‘We’ve got a criminal practice that takes up most of our time’ - a great and bold line.
And the bizarre briefs they handle.
when we sat around a small wireless with our imaginations in full flow.......wonderful times indeed
Comedy in utter gloriousness. Loved it then, love it more now. XXX To the memory of all the cast who gave us such laughs then, and continue to do so now.
Brilliant writing and top performers. Classic stuff and it will never grow old.
Real Comedy, We Just Dont Get Anymore.
I can smell roast beef !!
nice touch, dont forget the batter pudding
Oh yes !!
Great memories ,superb cast.
As a child, I just thought that Jules and Sandy were just silly. Later I found out about Polari, and now it's even more funny.
The writing and performances are so fresh and energetic it could have been made yesterday. Except there is no longer the talent to produce such a programme.
With the exception of Andy Hamilton. Old Harry's Game stands up well.
How did they get away with it? Still hysterically funny after all this time!
How incredibly old-fashioned!!!! Formation goat-nadgering was discontinued by the government of The Right Honourable J Peasmold Gruntfuttock in 1987, and Armadillo baiting was considered to be cruel as early as MCMLXVII and subsequently banned, although once it was discovered that Armadillos can't play musical instruments the band was disbanded and replaced by Acker Bilk.
