Awe! They are growing so fast!!! Look at those beautiful markings in their feathers! You are doing absolutely amazing taking care of these beautiful children! :) ❤️
I don't think they really chew that much. I remember reading online what foods to feed ducks, and all the sources said to make sure the food was chopped up small because they couldn't chew it and could easily choke. Maybe that's how they eat so fast. They just inhale it!
They sure do! When can vary but, in my experience, the females of fast-growing domestic ducks like Dutch Hookbills can start making weird coughing/ half-quack sounds as early as 3 weeks old. Eventually these develop into loud, honk-like quacks. The males will grow up to make a quiet, raspy sound. As these are wild mallards, I'd imagine they'll grow up and hit puberty even quicker than a domestic breed would.
Ducklings make peeping noises for one reason only. Their instinct is to keep in contact with their mother duck. Ducks don't count their baby's , they listen for them. Is one faint (further away) the mother duck goes searching for it.

When my twin sis and I were very young we had 2 ducks: Smurf and Smurfette. We got them for Easter. They lived a long and ducky life at the giant pond at the end of the driveway.

the ducks are growing really fast. I never thought I'd find ducks to be so cute. I wonder if they acknowledge you as their parent/caretaker. it will be interesting to see how they react to you once they're relocated and used to living on their own.
Throw some thawed frozen peas in their pool. Mallards love them. Mine would come to the back door quacking like crazy so I’d come out and give them peas! Eat them right out of my hand!
I don't think I'd be able to tell them apart without colored leg bands or something; they grow so fast that individual markings are practically gone in a week!

Hi, im a duck owner, and I noticed the duck pen your mallard ducks are in is all blank dirt with no grass, and you should be moving the pen time to time to new patches of grass so the ducks can graze upon it whenever they want.
In Arizona, I found that the roadrunners, thrashers, cactus wrens and sometimes the California quail all like mealworms. The roadrunners especially like them and will come on the porch asking for them.

It's going to be really interesting when they stop making "peeping" noises, and start quacking.
Do ducks go through puberty?
I would say it is puberty right now. In about another 5 weeks the peeping will turn to some quacks before All quack around 15 weeks.
