  • Non-contact sensors measure airborne ultrasound. When choosing a sensor, consider how far away from the probable sound source you will be, as different sensors and accessories (such as horns) can give you the best readings at varying distances. Keep in mind the sensitivity of your device, the amplitude of the sound source, and the inverse distance law.

    The Inverse Distance Law loss of 6 Deciebles only applies to the UE Systems devices as the other devices on the market from Sonotec, SDT, and IRISS use a microVolt Scaling. The UE Platform starts at 0 Decibels and can read up to 128 Decibels.
