@andrewg4287 You know Citi is booming when the opposing pitcher is tapping his pitch com and mouthing the words "I can't hear you" to the catcher haha. Awesome game to watch. I almost turned it off after that first tough inning.
@@aj40765 ...true enough. I have no clue as to why, but beisbol into the 2023 Season has had its share of excellent games and match-ups, no matter the teams. The Mets got their confidence back in winning the TB series---one I was sure they'd be swept in! Glad I'm not a betting man! Let's Go Mets!
Sure Alvarez is hitting great right now. But I feel like people are overlooking his defense behind the plate. He's the best catcher we've had since Piazza in my opinion. And the kid barely arrived to the majors. He's only going to get better.
Larry, I observed the Same Thing. And he has a better throwing arm. At his age, He is really on his way!! The punditd always said that he was needing more work in the Minors on his catching. He is taking charge of the Infield and he's only 21!!
And the ONLY reason Alvarez was called up was because Nevarez got hurt, so Mets’ incompetent management had no choice but to bring him up, otherwise he’d be languishing in AAA all year. Same with Baty-only because Escobar was not hitting and Mets were terrible. Vientos was clobbering the ball in AAA so Eppler and his oafs has no choice. It’s a sin that Vogelfatloser is still on the team and Mauricio is tearing the cover off the ball in Syracuse and still languishing in AAA.
@@jamiahjemeiras I live near new Orleans but I'm from new York so I'm a huge Mets fan and also a Saints fan having Vogelkrap on the Mets is like having jameis Winston or teddy bridgewater be the saints QB
@Larry Bee whether he’s better than Piazza or not, he still clearly looks like he can be a very good catcher, PLUS he has a STRONG bat. Thank goodness Mets management and the fans who wanted him gone in April didn’t get their way with their respective plans for him. Guys like Francisco Álvarez and Bretty Baty deserve to have a good chance to either sink or swim with the sharks up in MLB. And right now, they’re swimming. 👍
You have to admit the umps have been squeezing the Mets pitchers. At least in my opinion. Remember mlb don’t like teams buying championships unless there name is the Yankees.
The other night, after Petes 3 run, 10th inning walkoff, at the end of his on field interview, his last words wete, "Let's Fucking Go Mets". Into the mike, to the crowd. He seemed angry, frustrated, not happy. All that grinding finally paying off. Now his frustration has turned to joy. You never know why you can't perform or why it just starts working. But it seems they have emerged from the tunnel and I can't wait to see what will come next.
We need to get Mauricio up, and we could have a scary line-up. Alonzo/Vientos at first/DH Mauricio at 2nd, Lindor at SS, Baty at 3rd. The Outfield would be McNeil in LF Nimo in CF and Cahna/ Marte in RF and Alvarez catching.
I thought they should have carried him on the opening day roster. He absolutely killed it in spring training. That's the difference between the Mets and Braves. They aren't afraid to throw their young guys out there and it's worked for them. Hopefully Eppler finally gets it.
It was easy to bring up these 3 because of team control reasons, with their clock already starting last year, and also with struggling Escobar, there was a position open and 2 of those 3 players being 3rd basemen. I would love Mauricio to come up but I also understand the logic of letting him get reps at other positions because he's blocked at shortstop. I am ok with being patient with him, even though I do want to see him in the lineup within a month or 2.
Pete Alonso is sick!! No seriously, Pete Alonso was really sick and hit homers the whole time. What a player. Meanwhile, im stuck with Giancarlo Stanton, who pulls a hamsteing getting out of the shower.

What's lost in all the hoopla with the latest wins are the fact that the bullpen has been horrendous. There are only 2 or 3 relief pitchers that Buck can count on. This needs to be cleaned up if the Mets are to go anywhere.
Jana Barreira...agreed. It appears the David Robertson has pitched in about every game! Yes, the Mets need a busload of fresh arms from wherever, A, AA and AAA from any team org.
Corasco - at the end of the day will only be an Ok pItcher. Having said that, as an Original Mets Fan (1962), this was one for the Books!!! I just about turned the game off in the bottom of the 10th! WOW. In fact, Alvarez reminds of a very young Yogi Berra !! It Ain't Over Till It's OVER!!'

The pitching guys, from the starters to the relief corps, need to get their act together.
