Trust me, this question is only for Filipinos who grew up in the US. Ask anyone who grew up in the PH they would definitely say we are Asian
Exactly. Ask the locals, us who lived in the PH all our lives, we are Asians.
Hispanic is an Ethnicity and Culture not a race .
Asian is a race.
Filipinos are HISPANIC Asians due to Historical Link to Spain same with Latinos.
Latinos:
Race: American
Ethnicity Culture : Hispanic with their Indegenious culture .
Filipinos:
Race: Asian
Etnicity Culture : Hispanic with their Indegenious culture.
I hope its clear ♥️
For a long time filipinos were called the gypsies of the pacific.. you must be part chinese.. i am 66 years old hundred percent ilocano- austronesian
@@nestorancheta8041 Still Asian though... look at other South East Asian countries
@@ajmarkauza9924 We are ethnically asians/autronesians! yes we adapt some of Spaniards culture but doesn't mean we are latino coz to be latin is you must have Spaniards bloodline well in fact an average filipino genetics is 95% percent autronesians/South East Asian while has only 5% percent of spanish decent and those people are minority same with those Chinese-filipino and as well as you can speak Spanish fluently. Majority of an average filipino are rooted from autronesian not to mention the small amount of aetas bloodline to filipino. We are asian and we will never be latino, pacific Islander or whattt! stop this bullshit mindset. Hindi na kayo nahiya kay lapu lapu💀
This girls can learn Filipino language really fast.. I mean, just listen how they pronounce the words. 😮😍🥰
Aww I think is because we have the same sounds with spanish
@@SolLunaTV same color as well.. morena/moreno
@@SolLunaTV filipino and spanish not the same in sound. 🙄
@@jehgelo don't be harsh dude
Because other filipino word is similar in Spanish
Im a Pacific islander from Micronesia & the Filipines is just our neighborh nextdoor.
That explains also why Philippines is allowed to join Reina Hispanoamericana Pageant , we are just like your Asian cousins 😊 Hope you can visit here in cebu soon!
And we won!
WYNWYN MARQUEZ the first Filipino winner of the said pageant.
First time joined the pageant
And we won🇵🇭🇵🇭🇵🇭
We also Say Silya (Sillia) as Chair 😄😄 in Filipino/Tagalog
I want to add that
Filipino is official Language
Tagalog is a Language/Dialect in Southern Tagalog, Metro Manila and Bulacan.
Filipino Language is a Mixed of Tagalog, English, Bisaya and Spanish, and it's a growing language whenever they are new word we add it to Filipino Vocabulary
Spanish language es muy enteresante para mi. I really love when you two speak en español.
Filipinas es un país muy interesante, se parase mucho a latinoamerica. Saludos desde Cancun México. 🇲🇽
Verdad saludo amigos para mi mexico es un lugar muy facil pronunciar. Pero muy defecil olvidar
He is also wearing kamiseta (camiseta), pantalon (pantalones) which are both colored asul (azul). Silya (silla) is chair. Yup, we use spanish words a lot.
Can I describe that Filipinos are represented each race of the world. We are a small world.
Arabian, Chinese, Malaysian, Hispanic, Japanese and everything.
That's why we are unique.
And Indian I think
Huh!?! Pinagsasabi mong boba ka💀
Luna and Sol, you are now an official honorary Filipinos👍🇺🇸
Thanks
But Luna is actually called buwan and sol is Araw.
I'm Filipino btw
two dominican gwapas becoming filipinas, love it
Hahaha if we could become Filipinas se would! Half Filipina half Dominican xD
Filipina? Ewwww
@@kem1233 What wrong with filipinos?
You girls are lovely! When this pandemic quarantine is over, do come and visit. Let's enjoy and celebrate! ♥️🎊💐🍾
That's The plan
If you visit the Igorot people of the Cordilleras in N. Phil they resemble more the native Formosans called Ami, Japanese Ainu, and even native Alaskans. Even their traditional costumes are very similiar.
I consider myself as a hispanic because i have Mexican bloodline, por cierto estoy aprendiendo español y también me encanta la canción de español 😊 sorry about my grammar im not fluent yet 😅😁🤗
Every filipinos consider themselves as hispanic, because it's not a race but an ethnicity, and You're still an asian because philippines is located at asia. But of course Filipinos are more Hispanic, filipinos only become asian because obviously the philippines is located in asia, but if you disregard the Location it will be Just a Hispanic country.
@@kokomartin8211 I don't think so and I don't agree that most of us Filipino considered ourselves being hispanic chu chu because not all Filipinos have spanish blood, yes we have loan words and we are Christian but it doesn't mean we considered ourselves Hispanic and also we have chinese blood and we also practice their traditions that most foreigner don't know and we also have Philippine Hokkien which is known locally as Lán- nâng- uē it is a dialect not CREOLE of the Hokkien language of the Southern Min branch. So, tell me, are we considered also being Chinese? And most people here don't look spanish at all they mostly look our asian neighbour and especially if you go here you still considered as foreigner because we don't care who you are and where you came from and if you speak spanish here mind you, you feel alienated. If you want to speak Spanish just go in Zamboanga but expect yourself that most of the people their don't speak or understand you because the people living their are mixed kind of Filipino ethnic language.
So, can you don't speak for us being considered ourselves being Hispanic? For Gods sake! it's over 333 years or more being colonized by them and we already move with our life and Spanish/ Spaniards here we don't care anymore and those are still foreigner if we look at them.
And please stop spreading misinformation about us, because it will look like that we desperate being Spaniards and in reality in the Philippines Spaniards are still colonizers and they have not anything special about them.
FYI we are Asian, Southeast Asian to be exact.
@@kokomartin8211 If you give me ten thousand reasons why we are Hispanic country and I will give you ten thousand reasons why don't we considered as Hispanic country. So, don't speak for us. We have many problems to face in our country and being called as Spanish speaking Asian country it's not important anymore because we already know who we are.
Ps: those Filipino calling themselves as Hispanic or Asian those are have identity crisis that live in other country. So, don't be fooled by us.
@@kokomartin8211 abnormal
@@_elle819 I know that this comment thread is months ago but I just want to add my cents into this. It just seems like you did not comprehend what entails being a Hispanic. If your culture, language and religious practices have influences from Spain then yes you are Hispanic.
Did you know that only Hispanic countries aka countries that have ties to Spain are allowed to join the Reina Hispanoamericana Pageant? Philippines is the only country from Asia that was invited to participate in that contest and even won the title on the 1st year the country join that pageant.
Thanks to these lovely (hermosa) ladies from Dominican Republic for your appreciation of my beloved country. I know little about your country because of Al Horford of the NBA, playing for Sacramento Kings.
Just be it known, that I am from the Bicol Region (Philippines) which most of the words uttered in normal conversations are spanish.
Because our Grandparents were so lucky to have studied spanish subject in their class during their youth days.
And we are so lucky that we learned some spanish words from them.
Your vlogs caught my attention because I want to learn more spanish words, its conjugation/grammar, and how to express it correctly, so I can communicate well with spanish-speaking people.
Looking forward for your vlogs, with Spanish 101 tutorial as your content.

And youre so sweet
For Jollibee... just take a boat, and I'll meet you halfway from Florida.. although I will have to cross the country for that, haha! The food just might be a little cold by the time we meet each other. 😂
There is a Spanish creole language spoken particularly in the southern city of Zamboanga called Chavacano, and it basically sounds like Spanish without the conjugation, and the pronunciation, of course, naturally uses a Filipino accent (like when most Filipinos speak actual Spanish). Some people call it a "bastardized" Spanish. 😅 But I'm sure you might have already thought that after learning that it's called "Chavacano" mismo... jajaja
Hahahaha to do all that just to give us Jollybee!!!

Fun watching you ladies 😊. You're from Dominican Republic? My husband is Dominican but he was born & raised in New York, USA (btw I'm a Filipina 😊).
Ooooh OMG Filipina and Dominican together! 😍😍😍

Wow 20 years together! Amazing! Do you have cute mixed kids?
@@SolLunaTV Yes. We do have a 16 year old son 😊 (the one in the pic). But I also have another son (he's 33 years old & married to a white American 😁) from my ex. I have 2 grandchildren (an 8 years old boy & a 4 years old girl).
From my mom's maternal side, we have spanish ancestors, my great great great grandfather., from her paternal side, chinese. My maternal grandfather was born in China before his family sailed to the Philippines. My dad was of pure Malay descent. Shall we say Filipinos are Latin Asians? :) My mom looks like a Latina while her siblings look more chinese. :)
Yes we also call our chairs silya "silla" hahaha
a famous philippine export is lea salonga of broadway and the concert stage (singing voice of both jasmine and mulan). she has a typical asian set of features, a hispanic last name, speaks several languages, her speech pattern could blend in with any accent she immerses herself in, works where music takes her and enjoys life wherever she finds herself being at the moment. now if you remove the name and just consider the personality traits mentioned above, you have just met your typical filipino.
oh we know dominican republic exists. we always see you in beauty pageants. ahaha. cool fact: Filipinos can go to most Latin American countries without need of visa since we are considered part of the latin world. There might not be a lot of Filipinos there but there would at least be one.
Yes. We also can go without visa for 30 days to The Philippines
@@SolLunaTV and Filipinos and Latinos can go and be a citizen in Spain for only 2 years of legal recidency for Filipinos and 2-10 years for Latinos. Only the HISPANIC PEOPLE CAN HAVE THIS OPPORTUNITY .

About Langauges
Filipino has the same words in other langauges in Asia but the pronouncations are commonly Different its hard to identify.
While in Spanish 6000-10000 of Filipino words are comes from SPANISH and we most commonly even pronounce it same with Spanish and we can identify that it is Spanish .
¡How cool!🇵🇭♥️

In counting, I realized that Cebuano can count in 3 languages (it makes 4 including English).
Tagalog: Isa, dalawa, tatlo.... so on.
Cebuano: Isa, duha, tulo... so on.
Older Generation (usually used in apprehending/scolding): uno, dos, tres.. (When Filipino mothers scold, they call your name with uno, dos, tres and they have the tsinelas ready for spanking. Lol)
Older generation Cebuanos tend to count money in Spanish, so it could get tricky for me to understand if it goes beyond 100 pesos. Noventay nueve, yes. but when they start to go ciento, my head gets foggy. lol.
The recent encounter I've had was 2 months ago up in the mountains in Cebu. My boyfriend and I bought 2 kilos of pomelo from a local farmer. And we thought we gave sobra for a tip, but we missed the ciento part haha. So we actually owed him ciento setenta y cinco. We only understood the setenta y cinco haha. We gave doscientos instead after we realized we didn't pay him enough.
The pronunciation is always on fleek. Lol thats an all of the above answer😂
And you can hear lot of spanish words in a cockpit arena..like sintensyador, ganador ,dublado, sultada, dehado, liamado,,,and cobrador of jueteng...comprador for buyer
wow.. you two know many tagalog/filipino words already. nice job girls.. 🥰🥰

If you guys don't know Philippines can count in three different languages + some ethnical language
We count in spanish, filipino/tagalog , and english
We oftenly use spanish in time and currency
filipino/tagalog is used When you asked someone how many (ilan in tagalog)
And english can be used in anything
You guys are awesome!
Love your vidoes.. you got another Filipino subcribe to your channel....
Yeiii welcome to Minyeonatics!
Wow thank you so much 💖
You guys will not struggle learning tagalog your pronunciation is good.
Pacific Islander identity are only for Fil-Ams who are confused of their origins so its their issue not Philippine born individuals.
LOL.....we were a Hispanic Culture even when the U.S.A colonized us and it was only after WWII that we entirely lost Spanish as a national language. Still, many are clamoring for its return so who knows?
Anyway, the Philippines is a a Cross road and melting pot of many cultures that we are hard to discern as being just having one identity abd that is a paradox by itself. You can literally find all type of blood mix here and we are historically Hispanics, have been anglicized, nipponized, Sinonised, Koreanized and what have you. We are smack right in the Middle of IndoChina and the Pacific and have China, Japan abd Korea as close door neighbors too.
lol. It's not that the Dominican Republic is not well known. Jollibee's marketing strategy is still focused on their Filipino patrons outside of the Philippines. Unfortunately, opening up Jollibee in countries with lesser Filipinos is still too much of a risk unless of course a local investor would bring its franchise into the Dominican Republic or Jollibee gets popular enough that the risk is minimized.
Maybe in the future we'll be that local investor
Minyeo TV hell yah! Keep dishing out good content and you'll get that "maybe" out of that statement. More power!!!
