I remember when I was in 4rth grade at East Elementary school during the 70s and how the old Thunderbolt 1000T would sound off and we would have to "duck and cover" under our desks during these tests. During its start up it would have a neat kind of dual tone at the same time which had a unique sound to them till they got to full speed. i will never forget those days, we had so many tests especially after the Xenia tornados the year before. We would all pretend it was an air raid siren instead since it started up and slowed down for the attack mode like an air raid. Mr McDonald would really get after us to stop talking.
Haha, this is less than a mile from where I live. Recorded a few ambiences of this and one in person, they really are very loud! Hopefully Monday I'll be able to set up a camera to catch an ambience of our local siren system while I'm back in school.
Very nice! I think T-128’s (at least the older ones) are louder and they rattle your chest when facing you. These ones (at least the 508’s I’ve heard) were also very loud but didn’t have that feeling to them, at least in my opinion.
@@SWOhioSirens At least they don’t replace them with E-Class sirens. My town is replacing fully functional Thunderbolts with those E-Classes and it’s stupid
I like how Ohio keeps the old sirens there when they replace them. It gives the state a little bit of history.

I don't really like what they did with the redesign of the t128 I like the old design better but that's just me.
Do 508 sirens go right into Attack on their own (with no break), or is that how the city/county set it to work?
Auto alert
Auto alert
That's a cool transition, from alert to attack 😱😱😱, amazing...! 👍🏻
Nowadays Fairborn does 2 alerts each for one minute
I thought most states always have done it that way.

2T22: can we go off together?
508: yes!
Too bad the 2t22 didn't go off, or did it?
It's a 3T22
It did'nt sound but the 3T22A does the high low blast

This looks like Dover, OK. They have a 3T22 right next to a 508, I’m pretty sure the 3T22 is inactive since the 508 replaced it.

Since West Shore installed the 508, it's probably sitting in their yard.
