Click the above link to find the AC Compressor or Kit for your vehicle. In this video you will learn to replace the AC Compressor, Drier Accumulator, and Orifice Tube - Авто та транспорт
Replaced my Compressor clutch. This job was a nightmare. You made it look so easy.
Finally a good demo on how to flush the car AC system. Good video.
Thank you for the 3 videos .. Help me a bunch,
Wish you could be the one to replace my air compressor! You seem to know what you're doing! Very impressive!
@ 2:24 The full explanation: Orifice tube is both a mesh filter, and the expansion valve. It eliminates the old-style expansion valve that mechanics had to tear apart the dashboard to reach.
@mystiqueman366 You are correct, that is exactly how you use the poor-in AC flush.
I mistakingly bought a quart of liquid a/c flush, thinking it was an aerosol can as you used. If its in liquid form, I can pour small amounts into the lines, let it sit, and blow it out with compresser air right? Hopefully that will have the same effect as the aerosol.
Good video. I would recommend DIYers to wear safety glasses when tackling this job.
Will these steps work on a 4.0 dohc as well?
Do I have to do the flushing on the AC system on my 2003 Ford Explorer XLT with the rear AC or only on older cars?
Most new car use a 'Parallel Flow Condenser' and flushing them is not recommended.
Alright so bring it to a mechanic, got it!
I am doing this for my 97 Explorer but the Accumulator is stuck. By that I mean I can not get it to release from the pipe that was the nut on it. I don't know how else to explain that but any idea on how to get it to come loose?
It sounds like it might be just seized, if the pipes are physically stuck together, you can try soaking the connection in penetrating oil, it might take a while for it to work into the seized part, but that often works. Frequently, on aluminum on aluminum connections will oxidize and those connections can be quit difficult to separate.
The kits are good, and the on-line instruction excellent, but they really should make it clear that unless you have your parts installed by a CERTIFIED AUTO A/C SHOP, that there is NO warranty on the compressor. Even though it has a nominal one year warranty, it will not be honored unless you do as above, losing of course, any cost savings. You are on your own; buyer beware. I just had this experience today. Too bad, and disappointing. Now in less than a year, the compressor has sprung a leak in the case and I am buying another from a different source as a replacement, at my expense.
awkward doing this when you dont do it often
