      Thx , I’m just sorting out my “ UA-cam space “ at home so I can record more stuff . Got so many more cameras and lenses and general stuff to talk about . 👍

    Just purchased this lens. Can’t wait for it to arrive. Started buying Zeiss lenses in search for 3D pop.

      Hope you like it :) next on the list could be the 100mm f2 makro planar or the 135mm 🤓 or one of the 1.4 lenses 🤓 since that video I secretly picked up the Zeiss 35mm 1.4 too . Sill the f2 is my favorite but the 1.4 has a look for portraits and boudoir 👍 #zeissforever 🤓

      Thank you. I’ve seen really good reviews for both those lenses. Maybe in the future. I have a Voightlander 90mm f3.5 and a Zeiss 50 mm f1.4 Planar.

    As an exclusively a Zeiss ZF.2 user,
    I tried the whole line up, except for the 15 2.8 and the 100 f2
    My absolutely must have list:
    21 2.8
    25 f2
    50 f2
    85 f1.4
    135 f2

      IMO - if you like these lenses every one in the line (with the exception of the 18mm) is a "must have".

    Thanks for the review.
    Based on my experience with 21mm, 28mm, 45mm, and 90mm Zeiss lenses on a Contax G1, I knew that I liked Zeiss images.
    Based on my experience 28mm, 35mm, and 50mm lenses on my Nikon SLR, I knew that the 35mm focal length was my personal favorite.
    Based on my shooting style and my experience with a 35mm f/2 and a 35mm f/1.4 lens on my Nikon SLR, I knew that I preferred the f/1.4 lens.
    Therefore, the first lens I purchased for my Leica M6 rangefinder was a 35mm f/1.4 Zeiss ZM.
    The 90mm f/2 Leitz was my second and the 21mm f/1.4 Leitz was my third.

    I have been using it with a f/100, 5 or 6 with tmax 400 film at 250 iso. Moves the shadows off the toe so fabulous contrast in shadows then shorten developing 15% and get plenty of highlight detail I can work with to brighten the highlights with detail. The inter tonal detail on this super sharp fine grained film is stunning. It also produces a 3D like subject separation even stopped down to f/8 for environmental portraits. I love it for street with hp5 pushed to 1600 iso and shot at f/11 with zone focus, ie point and shoot.

    • @FST0p
      @FST0p  10 місяців тому

      That’s awesome. I started using it for film a few weeks ago on an old canon film camera with Kodak vision 3 500t .. haven’t developed any yet so I’m still to see the results 🤓

    I bought this lens in 2016 and used it only with Nikon cameras D700 , D850 , D500 and now with Z6 . The best rendering I got was with the D700 , the most accurate colour with D500 ( no editing needed ) most detail D850 slightly editing , with the Z6 I must be careful with the colours overall the colours are oversaturated and I must edit a tiny bit in post , maybe it has to do with the BSI sensor and the huge pixels , it’s a mix of Film look and modern rendering . I find out that if you want to resolve all the small fine details with this lens you need a camera without anti aliasing filter , D850 , Z7 , D500 ( too sharp for portraits ) , if you want the film rendering look and you don’t need the high resolution D700 , D200 , Fujifilm S5pro , or other older cameras canon , Leica with low megapixel or ccd sensor , I have tested the lens only on Nikon cameras . I am testing the lens now on a D200 bought the camera for 15€ . The lens is underrated , this will be the lens that I will never sell alongside with the voigtländer 58mm 1.4 , and the small 40mm ultron pancake 🥞 . I am looking for the Zeiss 28mm 2.0 distagon this lens is hard to find , it has a strong dimensional look like the Voigtländer 58mm . Great Video and photos thank you for your effort sir

    Just sold 24 lenses in 2022, mostly Pentax D-FA, D-FA* and FA Limited (all three, 31, 43 and 77) and a load of M42's.
    I only kept the Carl Zeiss Distagon 2.8/21, Distagon 2/35 and Planar 1.4/85. Also a Tomioka Cosina MC 1.2/55.
    Carl Zeiss stopped me from dumping cameras altogether. Adapted them to the A7RIII.
    Everything fits in a 10 litre dry box now. No clutter. Less is more.

      @@FST0p Here's the odd thing. That was the only lens that didn't sell. Even at £200. It's mint. As in brand new mint. I treated the radioactive yellowing with UV, crystal clear, unmarked glass, no dust, no fungus, no haze, not a mark on the body. It was up on sale for five months.
      I tested it against my Pentax-K 1.2/50 and the Tomioka blew it out the water. Yet the Pentax sold in hours after listing and needed work.
      Glad it never sold now.

    Rare and awesome video on this lens .. great job and feedback! I am about to get this lens (canon EF) for my 5D4 .. does Techart do an autofocus adapter for this scenario or only for Leica? Cheers and I am falling in love with Zeiss after my experience with the brand new 50mm 1.4 Planar that I bought .. not as sharp but lovely pics. Cheers.

    Zeiss ZF distagon 28mm remains my favorite lens for 10 years, just i hope it can be less heavy when mount in both my digital and film camera. They are true gems but nowadays no one seems to mentioned again except some videographer starts looking into the zeiss classic line.

    thank you for your good informations.
    I must buy this lens and like to put it to the Leica SL ( i love this camera, even if i never work with leica the last 30 years).
    But this camera give me an old school feeling including a very high quality.....and lets say a perfect body ;-)
    I only have to look for a good adapter, i like the ZF-Version, cause the aperture with electronic in adapter i do not trust really......... or you have some different experiense?
    Thanks again

    Very nice video! can anyone please tell me how to use it on a Fuji X camera? I had a Nikon FX to Fuji (g-series) mount, but it doesn't seem to fit. I have a Canon 5d classic and I'd like to use this lens with it. Can you please tell me which adapter will I need to do that?

    I have a question about this lens.
    When I do landscape I use a microfilm film, an emulsion that delivers a resolution much much higher that what my lenses can render.
    I thought about migrating to Leica for a summicron formula, but I despite the rangefinders. My cameras are a couple of fm2. In your opinion: do you think that this lens is a good performer resolution-wise?

    • @FST0p
      @FST0p  2 роки тому +1

      The Distagon on an fm2 ? Oh man I have no idea I know it’s a pain to adapt some lenses to Nikon because if the flange distance not sure about on film tho . I know the Distagon got a pretty exceptional resolution . I friend of mine use it on a Fuji GFX sometimes. The summicron are great but if you are on an fm2 u might as well just look into the Nikon versions . They are not identical but it’s a planar design and I believe Matt Osborne did a 50mm comparison that also includes cone Nikon glass and may Evan a Nikon body can’t remember . Check it out

    • @LaViejaConsolada
      @LaViejaConsolada 2 роки тому +1

      @@FST0p yeah there's a version of this lens for f mount so compatibility is not a problem. I will chech out what Matt has to say, but having a long term user review like you is also important for me.

      I would suggest a Zeiss otus Nikon mount. The 28mm is widest. Resolution is extremely high. The Zeiss Milvus 25mm is highly rated too, and the new designed 50mm 1.4 or 85mm 1.4. The 135mm Milvus is also quite spectacular and very very low aberrations.

      Well, we all have different needs and budgets . For me it’s unmatched so far in the 35mm range and the micro-contrast is insane . If manual focus isn’t an issue , but even that I found a way around with an af adaptor 🤓 thx for the comment tho 👍
