My first thought. The bearings become useless since the wood is now riding on the washers. I'm also pretty sure that he installed his bracket incorrectly

As the washers are bigger save money and not buy the bearings plus he routed out for the long arm of the bracket and then turned it around to use the small arm. Though the idea is good.
