  • Well it's nearly St Patrick's Day again and we're dusting off the classics, this one among them. Recorded by loads of folks but probably most famously by The Dubliners, The Pogues, and Thin Lizzy/Metallica, it's a nice simple melody that's fun to ornament.

    Hi sir, my uncle gave me a Generation whistle in the key of Eb, but I have a simple question. Can I still play the tunes you play in D or am I doomed and supposed to buy a D one ?

      Oh no, you can play anything on an Eb whistle as you can on a D whistle - you just won't be able to play with anyone else as you'll be a half step sharp.
