I can't believe I discovered this after spending a year surfing the net looking for a simple but super functional DIY camper. This is ingenious. Every square inch. Thanks so much.
This is my favourite thing on the internet right now. I'm losing sleep constantly thinking about making something like this to sell my pots at markets around Wales UK. Thank you for posting! Love the song too. :)
I love the minimalist design. I’m thinking of building something like this but slightly larger, maybe a 6’x12’ trailer and bump it out to 7’ wide. Wondering if the size increase would create any additional obstacles not present in one of this size.
I would’ve loved to seen what you did with the inside as well! Do you have plans for these are they for sale at all? This is the best really incredibly compact and innovative design!
I would love to make one myself if you will share the plans with me! I love how efficient this design is. Do you sell the plans or do you sell the wagons?
I watch this video just about every night. Love the video and the music. Have a 4X8 Harbor Freight trailer that I am currently derusting and repainting, with plans to use 2X4s to create a 5.5X9 floor. My only question is where can I source the 3 poles (9 footers?) that seem to be fiberglass? Thanks for any help you can give.
Bob Snider thanks. I actually went to Home Depot and bought hemlock trim boards About 14ft long. Then I glued them together around a jig I made to keep the shape. Put as many clamps as I could it while it dried. The front and back are 4 laminated pieces and the 2 in the middle are only 2 pieces thick. Fiberglass resin would be a good idea especially if you consider your canvas gets wet if it rains or snows
Hey buddy love your camper I'm just asking do you have any plans made are they for sale thankyou for the video just love great job buddy well done cheers to you.
Kathy Farrey yeah I’ve thought of doing that too. I built a shelf that just hangs off the side that works pretty well. I sell pottery in it and people don’t always want to step in a 5x8 ft space no matter how cute it Is haha
Have you ever traveled on the highway with the bow top in place? How do you protect the items inside , when traveling when the bow top is collapsed? Neat trailer!
No I haven’t tried driving it with the top up. I built it with the idea that it would be easily to pull with a lighter vehicle. I just cover the back with a canvas tarp. Tie it down on the side where I have J hooks
Mike Butters I wish I did lots of people ask that question. I started off with a model I made in sketchup but I had to change it so much as I went honestly. I wish I would have taken more photos during the process.
jcfone it’s just canvas. It had been dyed to look old and authentic. It was made for a different wagon and hemmed to fit ours. I actually built a lot of it around the canvas so I didn’t have to find another one. Rope is threaded through to front and back. There are little straps on the sides you can see for attaching to the j hooks
Love this but am wondering how tight the canvas is against the wagon (i.e., mosquitoes and other annoying creatures). Also wondering how it "feels" inside with only one window. Too dark or maybe too claustrophobic? But I love it!
I would say that all of those potential issues depend on what you’re using it for and how often. If claustrophobia and skeeters are a big problem then maybe don’t go camping. Just being a smartass but honestly anyone who is going to spend a significant time in something like this probably knows how to deal with it.
Why didn’t you show the inside once it was done? This is amazing. Very clever. Very well thought out. No tools needed except your hands. I just have one question. What is a sheep wagon?
I really like this. I have been working on a little mini sled camper to pull behind a snow machine. The little red clamp/joiner at :17 would really come in handy. Do you mind telling me where I can find these?
Love the Shepherd's Wagon-wonderful job! I'm curious, though...Why did you build it to be a "pop-up" , instead of permanently configured? Isn't it more work to set up every time, rather than have it already upright and finished? Is it easier to drive and transport that way?
D Brickell I wanted something that was easy to pull down the road and didn't have a lot of wind resistance. It's much taller than pickup when it's set up. I pull it with a 6 cylinder pickup. It was trickier to put a wood stove in though. Maybe I'll post a video of that too
Wayne Small this is an awesome setup! Could you answer a couple questions, please? What was the total cost to the portion on top of the trailer? Is that a simple utility trailer? What is the trailer size? What is the size of the added portion? What is the total weight? Since you’ve been doing it a while now, how long does setup take? Do you feel you get adequate protection from the elements? Would you do anything different if you started over today? Do you feel it would be enough of a benefit to be worth the effort to use an inner and outer tarp cover with some insulation between for either hot or cold weather usage (I seem to travel between the two)? It is an amazing design and build. I love it, and may be stealing your idea in the future....sorry, but imitation is the most sincere form of flattery.... Thank you for providing this inspiration!
ok well thanks. Let me know if you would be open to selling a copy of your plans. I'd be willing to pay a few dollars for them even though you modified them as you went. If you don't want to sell them, I understand and believe your video is thorough enough to allow me to use it as a guide to draft my own plans on paper that would give me a guideline.
you could most likely pull that as I pull a trailer similar to that with a Harley Sportster on it(an almost 500 lb.) motorcycle with a Subaru Forester(4 cly.),I think I may copy this design it is killer
I'd like to leave it set up and tow it behind my unrestored 1930 Ford pickup. I rarely drive it faster than 40, so it should work great. The rig need more windows though...
A general set of plans would be great, I would most likely build mine on an tandem axle boat trailer. So mine would most likely be longer. I would pay you for them or pay postage or what ever.
You have some brilliant ideas here. Curious, why build the window facing forward and set up to funnel all the rain in? So, nice set-up, but absolutely horrid "music".

Beautiful piece of work! Love sheep wagons, and this super-portable version is beautiful!
I love this sheep wagon! It is so awesome! Love the extreme low-tech design.
This is so cool! I shared this with an acquaintance and now they are building one based on it! Thank you!
I would like to see that being made!
Thank you. That sounds awesome. I saw a bunch of stuff online that inspired me before I made this one.
This is my favourite thing on the internet right now. I'm losing sleep constantly thinking about making something like this to sell my pots at markets around Wales UK. Thank you for posting! Love the song too. :)
I was tapping along to Poor Boy Shanty and enjoyed it so much almost forgot about the Wagon 🤗😜🤗
love the pop up! That is really cool
Great build Wayne! Thanks for sharing this.
That is so Cute! Looks very well built, Nice Craftsmanship!
I like this idea. It's a very clever project. Thank you for sharing it!
I loved your project. I'll make a similar one. A big hug!
Superb build! And great music! Thank you for sharing ✌
I always liked the sheephearder style . your is pure genius
It’s awesome and so is the music!
Fantastic buddy great job beautiful trailer camper respect absolutely awesome wow 💖💕💯 t
Amazing, and I want your trailer!
Well that is just about the greatest “tent” trailer build I’ve ever seen!
To you have plans for these available anywhere?
this is amazing. Would love to see it fully set up inside too.
I love the minimalist design. I’m thinking of building something like this but slightly larger, maybe a 6’x12’ trailer and bump it out to 7’ wide. Wondering if the size increase would create any additional obstacles not present in one of this size.
I was looking if anyone had tried this (fold down vardo/wagon camper where you add the roof)….great job.
Brilliantly simple
what a neat sheep wagon!....ty for the video! have you thought about building them & selling?
Genius,,, I love it ♥
Well done!
Love this well done buddy I'm build myself one cheers to you bro awesome.
Highly inspired, well done!
Anymore on this beautiful piece of art?
This is friggin awesome
Excellent job.😊
Very cool. Could you describe the interior layout?
I would love to have one of these!
I would’ve loved to seen what you did with the inside as well! Do you have plans for these are they for sale at all? This is the best really incredibly compact and innovative design!
A Gypsy Circle I should. I put a boat stove in it for heat since I made this video.
I would love to make one myself if you will share the plans with me! I love how efficient this design is. Do you sell the plans or do you sell the wagons?
You are a genius, and craftsman to boot! This is like DIY Porn. Hope you'll forgive my french.
Nice job. I don’t get why there aren’t more of these around….as seems like a great, simple idea.
Nice design.
This is cool! Do you have instructions?
That is just awesome
Amazing build! Is there any other pictures or video of this!

you could also use 3/4 or 1 inch EMT conduit for the poles
I to have an old HF trailer, how did you make your sheep wagon?
Hey buddy love your camper I'm just asking do you have any plans made are they for sale thankyou for the video just love great job buddy well done cheers to you.
I want one that I can flip the sides of the canvas up, to use as a concessions trailer.
Kathy Farrey yeah I’ve thought of doing that too. I built a shelf that just hangs off the side that works pretty well. I sell pottery in it and people don’t always want to step in a 5x8 ft space no matter how cute it

Allan Cross and me too!
I want one too

@@waynersmall1 I love the J-hooks. Wish I thought of that when we had a pool. Would have made closing it much easier.
What you have is something that I would like to build do you have any floor plans that you might be able to share or sell

Where dod you get the flexible bows in the middle? Great build!
Why didn’t you show the inside once it was done? This is amazing. Very clever. Very well thought out. No tools needed except your hands. I just have one question. What is a sheep wagon?
Mary Nichols not used much nowadays but it was something mobile that you could follow your sheep around with since they are susceptible to predators.

Brilliant :)
This is off the chain cool .
You are a genius
Obrigado meu amigo
Você me deu uma grande idéia
Vou fazer um parecido depois vou enviar as fotos
what are the hoops made of?. thanks
Nilo Carvalho entonces Voce fazer um parecido depois per me.
gordon moore hemlock trim boards from Home Depot. I built a jig to shape them and laminated them using clamps and wood glue.
impressive
are those hoops just pvc pipes?
what about the inside?
Dude this is amazing! Did you use any plans? I would love to try this. Could it work in cold temperatures?
Love the Shepherd's Wagon-wonderful job! I'm curious, though...Why did you build it to be a "pop-up" , instead of permanently configured? Isn't it more work to set up every time, rather than have it already upright and finished? Is it easier to drive and transport that way?

Love it.
What size trailer
And tarp?
Farm boy engineering great
That is super cool
Brilliant
Wayne Small Did you have any plans for this? If so, could you please direct someone as to where the plans could be purchased?
rw I do have plans but I ended up changing things as I went based on materials at hand
Wayne Small .. Would you mind sharing where you got your plans? I find this camper absolutely fascinating and would like to build one myself.
rw I just made them myself. I have a sketchup 3D model but like I said I changed a lot

Oh hell yeah!
Best design one
Do you have any idea how much the trailer weighs! Could a 4-cly auto pull it!?
Bill Nolen maybe. I can pull it with my 6 cylinder pickup easily. It depends on the size of your trailer and how much wood you are using.
you could most likely pull that as I pull a trailer similar to that with a Harley Sportster on it(an almost 500 lb.) motorcycle with a Subaru Forester(4 cly.),I think I may copy this design it is killer

BBMeyer100 5x8

Classic!
What did it cost to build?
Emily E I would say $3k about half in the trailer and half in rough cut lumber, tongue in groove on the inside and hardware like screws etc
@@waynersmall1 Thanks for the reply:) wish you had plans!
Dove ne trovo 1?
Interested in plans
Scott Newby I do have plans but I ended up altering them a lot along the way

When being moved, the window is not facing forward. It is facing up and covered.
