- In this series for intermediate learners we will compare confusing words and see the difference in their usage looking at real exapmles from every day life. I really hope this kind of videos are useful for you guys because I know the feeling of confusion myself when it comes to English or French, similar exapmles help to see the difference better!
Inthis video we are talking about two prepositions that mean "form, out of", but have different usage in certain situations.
1) The preposition B is used when talking about PLACES (I'm from Moscow, I went out of the room), and the preposition OT is used with people (I came from a doctor, I came from friends etc)
2) The preposition B is used when something was inside somethig and we got it out of there (I got a toy from a box / я достал игрушку из коробки) and the preposition OT is used when we were next to something and we are just getting further from it increasing a disctance (I got further from a house/ я отошёл от дома )
3) The preposition B is used when talking about materials, something is made out of something (a botle made of glass / бутылка из стекла) and the preposition Ot is used when talking about something that compliments something else (a key from a lock / ключ от замка)
This was so helpful! Not only did I get to understand the из-от difference, but also got to see the role of ото in отойди
I'm so happy you got so much out of this video!

My book explained this, but it was still confusing. You cleared everything up. Thanks. Btw, the word you were looking for was a “bottle cap.”
Oh, my! Of course a bottle cap))))) ahaha, I've noticed that some words just disappear from my head when I film videos)
I speak english a little bit, I wonder if it is a good idea learn russian, but I understood well enough ! I find interesting russian language =)
you know, the Russian language is fairly complicated compared to English, if your motivation is strong and solid, you're gonna progress, but if you're asking me if you should learn it or not, well, I can't decide it FOR YOU
