ShartimusPrime Biography:
Inspired by watching boring Transformers action figure reviews, the ShartimusPrime youtube channel was launched in 2008. Engaging the audience with an edgy sense of humor for adult collectors, action figure collecting has never been this fun, and videos are posted daily! Unexpectedly, the channel became more popular for Marvel Legends reviews and Spider-Man, Avengers, and X-Men collection display videos. After a few years, the channel has branched out to review other figure properties aside from Marvel Legends and G1 Transformers Masterpiece. Hot Toys, Star Wars, Diamond Select Toys, DC Collectibles, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Dragon Ball Z, Attack on Titan, Godzilla, Evil Dead, and The Walking Dead toy lines have all been added to the roster of nearly 2,000 video reviews. Japanese import figures from SH Figuarts, Bandai, Figma, Square Enix, and Medicom MAFEX have been favorites as well. More recently, Kotobukiya Statues (including the very sexy Bishoujo line) and NECA Toys have become more prevalent on the channel. Being a big fan of movies such as Spider-Man, Batman, X-Men, Iron Man, Captain America, The Avengers, Evil Dead, Pacific Rim, Aliens, and other films has lead the channel in the direction of also reviewing movies, movie trailers, blu ray releases, and tv shows. News updates for 2016 releases and beyond are also posted. Audience engagement is a big part of this channel, with giveaways and fan mail being read publicly once a week in the PO Box Pick-Up videos. Impressive “Shart-Art” is shared via social media and included in the opening theme song. The audience is also kept up to date with any changes to the channel, along with recent comic book pick-ups, unboxings, and action figure hauls. Stop-motion segments punishing the popular meme of the Big Time Let Down Spider-Man close most of the comparison segments, and are compiled together for guaranteed access to patrons. Lastly, all figure reviews close with a slideshow featuring dynamic poses of the figure inspired by ACBA, with the added bonus of music performed and recorded by ShartimusPrime himself.

The baf lizard is definitely modern. He has looked more dinosaur like in some of the recent Spidey comics. The new lizard is easily the best though as it perfectly represents how lizard should be.
They should re-release the BAF as a Deluxe figure, so all of us who missed out could get one for a fair price. The BAF is by far my favourite.

I have the Baf, looks impressive but difficult to pose, the tail looks awkward with how it's articulated. He also looks more like a dinosaur than a lizard.
Any possible this BAF were re-released in next five years. I really like this one.
The BaF is my personal favorite. It’s a lot more monstrous. The head doesn’t bother me as it looks like a reptile beast and not a newt or green dude with a long face.

Exactly. I don't care if it's a statue. At least it doesn't have some weird dorky looking face like the new one. Not a bit intimidating. Reminds me of the 50s cartoonish villains that goes "dang that dastardly Spider-Man! He foiled my plans again!". Talking about the sad Lizard face. The face with teeth isn't as intimidating either.

Count me in for wanting a more Todd Mcfarlane inspired Lizard figure for modern times. That take on him is among his most iconic designs in Spider-Man history so I'd be surprised if ML doesn't eventually revisit it.
The BAF in my opinion is the best one. The size is best. I love the head. The tail doesn't bother me to much. I have thought about looking for a wired cloth coat to replace the plastic one to get better articulation.

I don’t mind the Dino look to the Baf because it actually does look a lot like the head of monitor lizards which are some of the most predatory large lizards.
The BaF is cool because imo it looks more like alot of modern interpretations of the Lizard -its a decent mashup of styles for the character. It has good bulk too, and every time you think of Spidey facing off with the Lizard he's usually alot bigger, at least for me, I grew up reading Torment and Todd Mcfarlane's run.
I think the new retro card Lizard is also really good for its articulation, two different heads, tail wire, etc. I think its a really good option for these reasons, and most likely it is objectively best lizard, but for my tastes I still love the BaF.

I think the BAF is decent sculpt-wise but I agree, the articulation is so limited and it really hurts the figure (not to mention that awful tail). Personally I think the new Lizard is perfect in depicting his classic Ditko look, not to mention the articulation is perfect with pinless joints and modern engineering. People who don't care for the retro head sculpt obviously haven't read those comics to care enough it seems. In this regard, it's currently my most favorite of the ML Lizards we've gotten.

I like everything about the bar lizard except for the head, just wish it was like the reference imagine you showed, and that the lab coat was more rubbery, or cloth with wires in it to pose it around better.

I like parts of the Select one too, but it can barely move as well. Toybiz will always hold a place in my heart, but I neeeed and love that new retro Lizard. I hate the baf haha but I still have mine as well. Great review and comp bro!
Definetly I can tell Retro Lizard is my favorite because this is the version of more humanoid lizard I wanted since the toybiz one from box set and HASBRO nailed it. Articulation, sculpting, painting overall design and accessories: first apperance head one of the best choices for accessory of all time IMO, opened hands and one fisted and grabbing to hold those flasks I actually do like because this can show cure for the lizard or the serum to turn people to lizards or make reptiles more humanoid. But still I will say I really want to see perfect McFarlane style Lizard and I think rerelase of baf can be good idea but with some changes like different painting, definetly new head, new tail, different legs because he really can't stand on those feet. Anyway if they will relase McFarlane Lizard that would be must have for me too but now I'm happy with humanoid lizard

This new lizard is clearly the best imo. Never liked the Jurassic look to the BAF and it’s lack of articulation
@@gaboh296 Yeah as I said. Dino head doesn't appeal to me and damn those awful legs and tail I can't believe some people say the retro one is a trash next to the baf. Hope hasbro will fix their mistakes and rerelase him with new parts and painting as a deluxe. The same thing I can say about baf sandman. I love the retro one because I always wanted real size sandman. But monstrous could be really fun.
@@k4m1l83 The only criticism I have with this retro is no toe articulation. If they did it with Beast and Spidey they could’ve done it with Lizard
It almost gives me sort of a genuine panic attack of frustration thing thinking about how close we are to a perfect Lizard, but constantly falling short in frustrating ways instead.
I want a huge Lizard the size of the BAF Lizard, but with:
- ankle pivot at the toes
- knees that can be straightened
- bendy wire tail
- McFarlane style head
- Spider-Man:TheAnimated Series style head
- articulated jaws
- alternate hands
- a better torso that can stand up straight and has modern articulation
- pinless joints
- a color of green between the Retro Lizard and the BAF Lizard
- the Neogenic Recombinator
Do that as a Deluxe, and I'll EASILY pay $45.
Bagley was my fav lizard design. So I love the 2nd sculpt and am grateful for the historic Ditko!

I like the BaF a lot, not as a comic reference but as like a final mutation look. In my head it goes human Conners, new retro Lizard then the BaF all as the same character in various forms of transformation.

I've only had that Spider-Man Classics McFarlane Lizard. I love the McFarlane design, but as soon as they announced G1 Lizard I was hyped. If they weren't gonna make a new McFarlane Lizard then I'm more than happy they went the silver age route!
I grew up watching Spider-Man TNAS (MTV) and I had no idea they made a Lizard figure from it! Now it's a grail for me because it's insanely expensive. Watch the show once it's on Disney Plus on October 20 btw!

Hopefully they will offer the other lizard again down the line. The Toybiz lizard and the new Hasbro one look almost similar. I had the Spider-Man line lizard too. Not sure we’re it went.

I like the BaF Lizard more imo because it actually looks monstrous and scar. It's bog and the head I honestly don't care. I think the head is fine, it even almost looks like a new movie lizard of it's own.
The retro one I don't like at all imo, I get it's supposed to look like the comics, but it doesn't really stand out to me by how small he is and goofy looking the head sculpt is.

The retro one is the best. Fits in perfectly with the rest of the Spider-Man villains and it actually looks like the lizard and not some dinosaur like the BAF
There’s really no need to debate. If you like the Ditko/Romita Sr. version of the character (which I do), then the new one is perfect. If you like a more modern version then the BAF is perfect for you.

The BAF is my favourite. My only issue is with the knee joints. Without modding it, it won’t stand fully upright.
I could never get past the BAF's dinosaur head, and thought I still adore the paint work on the Toybiz one, I replaced it with the Walmart one and have been happy.

I also prefer the BAF. I like the fact that most Spider villains are dorky or dumb but actually frightening. And that baf Liz does it good. Ok, it needs a few tweaks to be perfect, like a cloth coat and a shaving of the plastic in the knees. But a lot of other ML figures do too, so it's fine by me
Marvel Select is probably the best one if you want a monster lizard. My favorite is the new one though.
I was really hoping they’d build upon and improve the BaF lizard for the retro card, especially since they did it with the BAF rhino. Like was hoping for fixed knees, new cartoon accurate head and a bendy tail. But the new lizard figure does look dope and can’t wait til mine arrives.
When they finally start doing the Animated Series figures, I'd bet that Animated Series Lizard will probably be a repaint of the Retro Lizard with a different head.
I HOPE he's a huge upgrade of the BAF, but...I kinda doubt it.

I have the ultimate lizard one and that one is actually really awesome.
i think they should 100% make a Mcfarlane style lizard later on down the line but for the 60 years of spider-man line, this was the only right choice for the lizard for them to make
To me the best way to do the lizard would be a mix of the baf and the new one
I felt they went with the Dino head on the Lizard BAF cause they probably wanted to make the Raptor BAF fir Runaways cause if I remember correctly the Lizard BAF came out when Runaways did.
In my opinion, the perfect lizard figure is by replacing the baf's head with the marvel select's. I just bought a custom using that recipe on eBay with some wash to match the greens, and it looks perfect in my eyes.
I definitely like the Dinolizzard and can you please do a hight comparison with Dc Mafex and Mattel action figures for me especially between Superman Returns action figure to Mafex and Mattel Batman Dark Knight trilogy action figures.
The baf is my favorite. Even with its problems it's big it's mean and it looks more like a monster. The new one looks so small when he's posed next to spidey figs. He just doesn't look as intimidating. I actually love the dinosaur head on the baf.

Closest thing to the Todd McFarlane is the Marvel Select Lizard.
Retro is accurate to the cartoon and comics the baf reminds of the amazing spiderman movie version of the lizard except for the head. I like the retro for the size and nostalgia

Agree with your preference for the Todd McFarlane design, that's my mind's eye of the Lizard, has been my whole life. That said, I like most of my Marvel Legends to be as classic as possible, especially my Spider-Man villains, so the 60th Anniversary version is pretty much perfect for me.
Honestly, I see the Retro Lizard as the old-school goofy "curses Spider-Man! You have foiled my plans to turn everyone into Lizard people" Lizard from the Stan Lee comics, whereas the older BAF is the mindless beast that tears through the flesh of any poor soul that it comes across from Todd McFarlane's Adjectiveless run (albeit not specifically meant to be accurate to his artistic take on the character).
What the new one lacks in paint the toybiz one lacks in movement,i love the toybiz lizard but this new one may be my favorite and i havent even opened it yet the BAF just doesn’t look good to me at all.
In my humble opinion, I like the newest one better. Although the BAF also looks cool but it detracts from its limited posability due to the knee joint and besides the squared tail, its face is more monstrous but looks more like a velociraptor than a lizard. About the third one, forgive me but I don't really like the Toy Biz figures. (and also forgive me for my not so good English)

BAF is by far the best. The walmart one is nice for a classic look, but it isn't nearly as interesting on my shelf.
They better stop playing around and do a Spider-man unlimited animated series marvel legends figure.
I think another good sculpt is surprisingly the shapeshifter. It's proportions and head sculpt is really solid. Only issue is, like with the McFarlane one, it's articulation is pretty bad by Marvel legends standards.

Best? That's like asking people the best burger joint. Although ML is in the topic title, I have to say the MS Lizard has yet to be dethroned from my shelf by anything Hasbro has produced. Hasbro did a good job on the Ditko Lizard portrait yet I wish the Brand Manager would pick up a comic or two. Lizard is slightly larger in stature then this product.
I'd agree with the Ditko one. The dinosaur head on the BAF doesn't really suit the design at all.

I would go with the Hasbro retro version over the Toy Biz Fearsome Foes version…which is kinda like saying I would go with the 2022 entry level CPU over the 2002 state of the art CPU. It’s hardly a fair fight with 20 years of innovation on Hasbro’s side. I do like the colors on the Hasbro retro version better. They remind me of the Mego Lizard which was my first introduction to the character as a kid growing up in the 70s.
What do you mean by "20 years of innovation?" There's nothing Hasbro has done that ToyBiz didn't already try out (except that method of ankle pivot)

Also I'd like to be the contrarian here, even though I love the Lizard, Ditko's comics are.. let's say not on today's standards in terms of design. I'd rather have the BAF derided dinosaur, over Ditko's ridiculous gecko at ANY time!

Marvel really need to do better! The toys are too little, too bad necca or McFarland toys don't make them so they can be larger and a better quality overall
