Mourad NYC is a facial plastic and reconstructive practice in the Upper East Side of New York City. When I set out to start this practice many years ago, there was a paradigm shift in society. Whether it was more cellphone cameras or predominance in social media, you found that people were paying more attention to themselves. With that came this market of over-saturated practices. There's dermatology practices and dental practices, and people just wanting to offer cosmetic and aesthetic services where you lose sight of the actual patient. So my practice really prides itself on understanding patients. I really take the time to cultivate a relationship with my patients, and that's what defines me in my practice in this very chaotic landscape. Mourad NYC is a facial plastics and reconstructive practice that prides itself on individualized and holistic approach to patient care.
So my practice focuses on three different areas of expertise. The cosmetic aspect of my practice really focuses on the face, head, and neck. I do facelifts, neck lifts, rhinoplasty, eyelid surgery, ear surgery, things to enhance the aesthetic form of the face. And these are typically elective procedures or elective and aesthetic complaints. The second aspect of my practice is functional reconstructive surgery of the head, face, and neck, whether it's your inability to breathe, inability to smile, inability to close your eyes. Anytime that the form or function of the face has been altered, I really focus my techniques and surgery on rectifying that and restoring people's quality of life. The third aspect of my practice is cancer care. People that have been afflicted with thyroid cancer, oral cavity cancer, jaw cancer, I'm qualified and trained to treat not only the cancer, but any reconstructive needs that arise.
To be able to do that with a single surgeon was always very important to me, whether it's treating the cancer or the reconstruction thereafter. Every decision I've made in my practice has been very boutique, very individualized, very one-on-one, where patients really feel that they're listened to. And I don't think you'll find a patient that will ever tell you that I didn't listen to them. Whether it's limiting how many patients I see on a day, no matter how busy I get, I always make sure to block off the right amount of time, so that I could really listen to a patient. When you're signing up for surgery, that's a big deal. And when you're signing up for a surgeon, you should be signing up for a relationship with an individual that's going to guide you through a very life-changing and meaningful experience. And I really wanted to be that stable force in a very chaotic and saturated marketplace. And I think patients appreciate it.
