Sawano content in this day and age? HELL YEAHH
Actually, Sawano and Mika stopped working together sometime around 2016 (I may be wrong abt exact year) and she now works solo, and when Sawano plays songs she originally sang for, another singer performs it nowadays
Mpi is a staple in Sawano's works up to this day, it's one of the main male singers Sawano works with, and one of lyrics writers too
If I may suggest more Sawano works:
"The Call to Arms" is very unique
"Melancholia" - my fav Sawano song ever
"aLIEz" - an absolute classic
"oi" - is especially great when you take a look at the lyrics
"ThreeFiveNineFourε" - is a very obscure gem
and "Blumenkranz" - because it's just... peak
there's so many more, but I can't possibly write down half of my playlist in here, nor do I know which the copyright gods allow for the wide spaces, but I'll be happy just to see more Sawano recognition, especially towards his underrated pieces

I wrote a drum part for Blumenkranz like 5 years ago. Never did anything with it, but basically added a war drum aesthetic to the song

Great analysis, as always. Very cool song. Sounds as straight pop song of some kind, as you said. Kinda unusual for games OSTs, actually. Cool to hear it from time to time. In any case, as recommendation - "Color your night" from Persona 3 Reload.

Great song, i also recommend to give "The Key We've Lost" a listen as well.
Xenoblade Chronicles X has some of the best and unique videogame soundtracks imo.
