Another wonderful video!! Your delightful spirit has made a subscriber out of me. This was the road trip my girlfriend and I were going to take until I had to have foot surgery and couldn't walk. Perhaps next year. Thank you for sharing this!
I grew up in Northern Ontario and this list is spot on! All must sees. The only roadside attraction I would add is a stop at the Winnie the Pooh statue in White River. You can learn the humble beginnings of Winnie who came to be the beloved children’s character.
We did Lake Superior last summer, beautiful. This years trip is to Quetico PP. We’ll be seeing a few of the attractions and parks you mentioned. Can’t wait. Ontario is amazing!!!
What a practical - and sincere - share!! Thank you so much for posting this video!! Great presentation. I've been to many of the sites you mentioned here. Seems to me, the further North you travel in Ontario the more the land seems to come alive. The flora, the fauna - simply stunning. There is an incredible story about Kakabeka Falls and a native princess who was abducted by a conflicting tribe. Held hostage, she was threatened with torture and death if she did not lead the tribe that held her captive to the location of her own tribe, via canoe - so she sacrificed her life by taking the warriors with her over the falls to their deaths with her, to protect her tribe. Ontario is a beautiful province; different, but no less beautiful than the East coast or the West coast.
If you've got the time to travel back in time a few decades , you might want to turn off Hwy 17 across the bridge to St. Joseph Island about 35 KM east of SS Marie. Mostly cottages and farms , two very small towns with sparse services. But even in the high season you will mostly have the roads to yourself as there are few jobs on the island so any islanders typically commute off the island. It's just a nice diversion to run hwy 548 around the island , maybe see a freighter near sailor's encampment and the view looking west from the gilbertson mansion is quite nice (look out for deer near the I line road) and even the view down the redish pavement near the Gilbertson pancake restaurant is pleasing. Only a couple of mom and pop motels , a small grocery , LCBO, a credit union , pharmacy and tiny little ER in Richards landing and a couple of small restaurants and bars in Richards landing or Hilton beach. But if you don't mind stepping back in time a few decades and popping of the big hwy it's worth a fast visit.
You are great! So refreshing to find a travel video done by a down-to-earth, fun person😅 ... As an aside, you might not know that the Canada goose is just that, a "Canada" goose ... It sounds like we ought to call it "Canadian" but for some reason it's not called that, lol. Anyway, thanks from someone who's never made it that far north but certainly wants to !
Our family, from Mississauga, Ontario, is exploring the provincial and national parks of Quebec since last year. We will start exploring northern Ontario soon. This video will surely come in handy. Thank you for making a short and to the point video. Just one question - do they have electricity at Pukaskwa National Park's car camping site? I could not find the answer on their web page.
You have to go to the Timmy's in Wawa and the Goose is just down the road. I've done the drive from Oshawa to Dawson City, Yukon too many times to count (3x in 10 months, not to mention countless times after that). Love Northern Ontario. I'll have to take more time to explore but I've done a few on your list and camped at some of the ones you've mentioned. We've camped at Chutes, Agawa, Sleeping Giant, Kakabeka Falls (visited that in the winter as well in the 70's).
@@MyWanderingVoyage drove that 3x in 10 months (with a 4 and 6 year old and a 100 lbs dog). In total, I've done it at least 6 times. Highly recommend anyone to go to the Yukon.
So excited you shared this video! We have a trip to Thunder Bay and back (to Peterborough) planned for the end of August. We're just starting to think about what we want to do while we're making our way through and your list here is full of them! Thanks for the ideas, and off to do more research!! I love hearing your experiences! :)
The loonie is in ECHO BAY, not elis bay. Chrystal Falls is in the Hiawatha Highlands in Sault Ste Marie, four hours from Sudbury. The correct spelling for Agua ia AGAWA.
Who caught the little Ontario jingle at the end?!
Great video, Ontario looks amazing. Go Sens Go! Watching the UK. ❤
There's a couple hidden gems near Marathon, Ontario. Pebbles Beach and Mink Falls.
Another wonderful video!!

Totally agree! Quetico is on my list too, it's just so FAR haha. It's Canada's newest dark sky preserve, so I can't wait! Have a great time!

They do have electric sites!

OMG, that would be a great drive. Road tripping in the Yukon is on my bucket list. And Kakabeka in the winter would be stunning

Thanks so much Tracey. You're going to have an epic trip!
Haven’t been to a single one on the list, but now plan to start with the first, Crystal Falls, next week. Cheers
Awesome! Have fun!
