What Ever Happened to Lady Gaga? She Used to be HUGE!

- In this video I take a look at the career of art-pop pioneer Lady Gaga. In the recent years, she's seemingly faded more and more from the public consciousness outside of her few acting roles. At one point in the late 00's Lady Gaga was THE queen of redefining the dance pop sound that would dominate radio for the next ten years. But at some point, Gaga's music career started to fade into the background, I try to find out why.

I'm a Gaga fan and I don't mean this in any bad way, but you're absolutely correct! I also think that all of her early iconic ideas, concepts and passion came because she had a huge desire to be famous, so much so that she dedicated her first two albums to the Fame. She had to really fight in the beginning, great ideas are born out of necessity & stress. Now she's surrounded by a "team" of ass kissers, I cringed so much when I watched her Netflix documentary and every min someone from her team kept on telling her how gorgeous and amazing she is.
Not to mention that she said herself that her producers & record label told her in what direction to go music wise for her first three albums. Chromatica might have charted, but it is by far my least liked Gaga album, the instrumentals are so basic, each song sounds like a remix. No catchy melodies or unique synths (remember how unique her synths were in Just Dance, Poker Face, Born This Way, Mosnter, etc.?).
The truth is.. her early success had a lot less to do with her own originality than people would like to believe, and more to do with the people who were behind her who are no longer there!
Now she's just one part of an incomplete puzzle 🧩, she knows it, and that will likely never change until she finds people to back her, and guide her in an even better direction..!
@@ree3197 its so crazy to me because I feel like she could have and still can do stuff like that herself. For me its like- does she actually love avant garde high fashion? does she still have interesting photographers she likes? doesnt she have an ear for good music? doesnt she have the talent to sit beside a producer and play an active role in crafting a new and interesting sound thats still Gaga? Hell, she could learn to produce entirely herself if she gave it the time and energy.
My theory is a spiritual affliction. Everytime I see her she seems tired, frayed, insecure. Shes always been big on her values but she just comes off like an establishment shill now... "Go vote democrat!" "go get vaccinated" shes just a standard talking head now. I think she feels like she has to do this stuff to stay relevant and be a good person. I think the asskissers is a great point also. But really I think everything thats happened has taken a toll on her and she might need to do some work on her perspective and really get back in her bag musically and spiritually. She really does seem unwell. I love her to death and fame monster is on my walls and in ears to this day, what she did from Fame to Artpop is just legendary and fk all of the "madonna clone" shi I honestly dont understand how people still run with that when she did WAY MORE outside of being inspired by Madonna among many others. To me she was an amalgam of stardom throughout history it really wasnt just about madonna BUT I COULD GO ON
All her ideas were stolen from real artists just as Ysan Roche(her entire persona) Mia and many others
@@Mariannalivingston999 I just checked out Ysan Roche and her claims seem completely ludicrous, even given her own "evidence".
@@theblingcycle it’s even in a book that is being used inside universities. The book is named Queerness in Pop Music by Prof Stan Hawkins.
You Lady
Gaga Fans are so dumb and gullible. Ysan Roche is an accomplished fashion model and business owner who wanted to change the industry by creating a brand and being completely independent from the vampiric music industry. Gaga is a product, completely owned and tied to a 3/60 deal which means the companies get half of every movie or fashion line she makes. She’s a slave and still paying off 2 big loans- she’s completely broke and in deep despair.
That’s why the industry attacked Roche and literally stole everything. They did the same to Tom Althouse. Good luck to you
I think about Gaga every second of every day.
I wish I could retweet this
Go to therapy
I think what happened was a combination of things. More competition propped up in the pop music landscape, Gaga herself wasn't really as interested in being a mainstream success anymore, and she shifted her focus more to her acting career. Nice job with the video as always.
If she doesn't want to be mainstream anymore, why she dropped chromatica? That album is a very mainstream pop record. The problem is her acting carrier and the fact that she's not shocking anymore. She lost the thing that made her popular
Nope try again 😒That evil Bih has been deleted 🙅🏾♀️ for crimes against humanity, amongst many others...jast ask Jeff Ep or marina abramovic 👿
@@obeydastrawberry8875she is a big star and didn't need famous and popular anymore lol
The last time I saw her was with Metallica at the grammys. I thought she was on fire there. Her vocals fit really good with rock music.
Cant forget Lady Gaga’s Jazz/Lounge era with Tony Bennett 🥴
i try to forget
@@DancingwithGhostsme too
Honestly.. it would have only been more negative things for him to say about her, so maybe it's best he did 😅.
TERRIBLE CRAP
It was not that bad, her vocals were on point even though it wasn’t her style.
At least she knew how to properly sing the genre.
Gaga had a #1 (Shallow) hit in 2018, and another #1 hit in 2020 (Rain On Me). She also had a big viral hit in 2022 (Bloody Mary). And as much as so-called fans hate on these songs, both Million Reasons and Stupid Love were top 5 hits. I think the narrative of her fading is overblown. She has simply switched most of her focus away from music onto other endeavors like jazz, movies, and make-up. You don't have to like it but she isn't your monkey that has to cater to your entertainment for the rest of her life.
Obviously, everyone except butthurt Madonna stans (including the one who made this video) knows this lol
Every single number one gaga has had after Artpop is SYNTHETIC! Meaning there is not really a huge number of people listening but a few fanatics listening a huge amount of times, you are the ones to blame for this fixation with drag-lesque ballads targetted a over 35yo gays who dont dance anymore.
@@Beadlesstorh delusional.
lol you can't be serious. No way she's popular as it used to be rn. All stuff she did after ARTPOP -even by that time she isn't used to be huge as first two albums- were either irrevalent or just TEMPORARY viral things. No one remember what Gaga did 5 years ago but they remember what she did like 15-13 years ago. That's an obvious sign of irrelevance. We only know her name for the music she made after more than 1 decade.
little monsters don’t waste your time watching this video its not worth it! its giving stan twitter opinion from a madonna fan. IJBOL.
Little Monsters are irrelevant nowdays as OD fans.
She skyrocketed into idolization within the first 2 years of her career. There were so many things changing in music, fashion, internet, technology, etc. so this combination of factors helped propel her to stardom, but also backfire when trends changed quicker. I remember many people didn't take her seriously, calling her a gimmick, etc. so I'm sure it got to her to _not_ be taken seriously once she was already everywhere.
am I crazy or what bc I really dont hear any similarities between Express Yourself and BTW... and also wasnt EY a ripoff?
also Lady Gaga is still huge, she still garners more monthly listeners on spotify like for example Beyonce who's touring right now.
her album Chromatica didn't sell as well since it was released during the pandemic and she closed her official store and focused on fundraising for COVID relief, but it has sold more than her 2016 album so...
anyways globally, Lady Gaga is still huge, specially here in asia. i just dont know whats the issue with american ppl's obsession with racist artists right now lol. I think she just needs a better management... like didn't her song Bloody Mary from 2011 chart this year? Idk why they didn't push it as a single. I just know if Gaga is really desperate for a hit she would've but I think she's more focused on her acting right now than her music
hate to break it to you, but Lady Gaga isn't Gaga anymore ... she's just as "boring" as the other artists, no creativity anymore. Literally any of the other pop girlies could have done her last record and don't get me started on the visuals ... what a. shame
Check out the critical response section on Wikipedia to Born This Way and you can see a summary of the reviews that referenced Express Yourself and noted the similarities.
I don't think "Born This Way" ripps off "Express Yourself" : and not only I love Madonna (as I do also love Lady Gaga) but also "Express Yourself" is my favorite song of Madonna. But they're both powerful anthems : EY for Girl Power and BTW for the LGBTQIA community. Music wise I think EY has a more beautiful music but I love both songs and both singers.
The problems with recent Lady Gaga albums were the addition of several things :
1 Red One, Fernando Garibay or Rob Fusari did amazing musics for her and she ditch them all, big, big mistake especially about Red One
2 The team behind her wasn't ideal maybe, but they knew how to market her and after ArtPop, these teams are gone as well
3 As someone said : before she wanted fame and glory so much but now she has all that & all big artists' mojo fades away after the 4th or 5th album.
Now she hasn't nothing more to prove. Plus she's also more invested in her make-up company and in movies than in her music.
But I think you're being too harshed on the Born This Way era, I supported her right until the end of the ArtPop era. I know a lot of her early fans didn't liked Born This Way or ArtPop but I think it's after ArtPop that everything really fell apart. I also think the fact that she surrounds herself with kiss-asses don't help her make the good decisions. The Top Gun song, this new Die With A Smile song, they're not worthy of what she did before that's for sure. But she's like a Phoenix and she might rise again with her next album as she rose many, many times before. So I wouldn't count her out just yet.
Gaga will always be
I had a similar conversation with a friend about this a couple of months ago. I think you nailed it. I also think that the loss of her old songwriting partners like her ex and Space Cowboy, ect didn't help. When she has to write the songs herself she just re-writes the songs she liked as a kid. On her own she just seems like someone who watched The Blonde Ambition Tour VHS way too many times in her life.
yeah, she has the vocal talent but needs to have great producers behind her to come up with the songs and melodies. the production on the fame monster is brilliant, those are some tasty synth jams with a powerhouse vocalist on top of them.. after that, the music got watered down and i lost interest
I still think that The Fame & The Fame Monster are genuinely great albums. There are some good tracks like that on Born This Way too but her direction sound wise just slowly changed towards direction that I don’t care too much about. I personally like her work with Tony Bennett too.
agreed
Artpop and Chromatica are easily her best albums tho

she said being who she truly was, was all that it's about instead of being a celebrity.
apparantly she lied everything she said.
she literally said she would stay the way she was untill she would die.
she literally said she didn't care about the money and fame, but to care about her true fans.
Lol... You can see now that she really doesn't care about her older fans. What she said in the past was mostly marketing.
@@annac6457wtaf are you even mumbling about…. She literally ONLY cares about her old fans, thats the reason the totality of her music after artpop has been the same regurgitated Drag-lesque style specifically tailored to people over 35 who can’t dance anymore…..
She’s still relevant, but music is kind of a dying art. She stopped putting out eccentric art after being so harshly critiqued in 2013. Excited for her in Joker 2 and her future in acting
There’s another video where it says that ARTPOP was her last attempt at self obsessed, extravagant pop and I get that.. I really think she will come back with a rock album and she will be on top once more. Rock has always been there with her and just lately her vocals have been so raw. I hope it happens
She literally bought her bad acting career by investing in all the movies she acted in. Sorry but this is a sad fact… I think the joker thing was really her first real offer. All the other stuff apart from AHS were bought. Just think… nobody gets a film role so easily without a proper acting background. Beyoncé and a few others did buy into film roles as well
@@Mariannalivingston999 but not everybody has been successful in their acting ventures. Gaga is an exception. Look at the acclaim: Golden Globes, Oscars, SAG, BAFTA. Stay mad 😘
Has been shady video ! Gaga is more relevant more than ever ! Not going anywhere but here on the frontline doing her thing. And Gaga will stood the test of time too like others artists before her. And it's not because you have less success that you are done in the industry. Life is made of ups & downs for EVERYBODY ! She's here to stay, she has enough talent & stamina for that ! I am not a pop music expert, but it seems to me that as a vocalist and interpreter of the Great American Songbook, Lady Gaga is extraordinary. Let others compose; she will go down as one of the finest performers of her era.
Shes about to ne Harley Quinn in Joker 2
Madonna Fans and KatyKats are getting brave in the comment section. when Lady Gaga has an upcoming highly anticipated movie of 2024.
Hi, I'm commenting because I'm a huge little monster but I'm also a huge Madonna fan as well. Before gaga was a pop star Madonna was my world and still is but gaga is now part of it. Do not generalise and assume that people can have just 1 random. Seen gaga 5 times live and Madonna 7 times live. Love them both the same. So this is me being brave in the comment section. Stop with these weird fan wars. End of the day it's all about the music. If gaga never released these good songs / visuals etc we wouldn't care about her. It's all in the art not the person.
I don’t think this video is punctual.
Applause was a huge hit and it still is, Taylor Swift is literally playing it everywhere before her tour (just a little example).
Joanne was her downfall. Like you said, the rebrand she didn’t need. And Chromatica was actually very popular, 911 was played at every club that reopened in late 2020.
Applause was not as big as her prior hits like Poker Face & Bad Romance. And Applause came our the same time Katy's "Roar" and "Roar" peaked at #1 while "Applause" only peaked at #4.
it's a ridiculous video. gaga is still talented and she got mature and she is not going to do the same as before. a real artist change and do something different. why do you not talk about katy perry rihanna, beyonce, madonna. all of them have not yet the same impact now as before.

@@MiahTucker-vg9se You also have to judge the landscape of music. When Gaga first showed up music was a high popularity MTV still played music American Idol was still a thing on FOX and popular but the landscape for music changed people moved to streaming and stopped buying anything physical and you didn't see your favorite musicians on TV much anymore because MTV moved away from music. Lady Gaga has become a award winning actress she became what Madonna wanted to be. She moved on from her music career maybe she was burnt out maybe she's not who knows she may release another album someday but due to covid shutting down tours and her priorities moving onto acting.
@@SkyExplosion I'll always be a little monster. I just want to see her live one time😭
@@SkyExplosion Madonna became the Pop Icon that gaga never got to be.. Her Peak is nowhere near Madonna's peak or longevity. and clearly gaga's forte is mimicing other italian women, Madonna, Gucci, etc. she is def an actress
I think most pop stars don't really have enough about them to genuinely reinvent themselves more than a couple of times, without it coming across as inauthentic and turning the public off. Katy Perry took over from Gaga as being the pop girl of the moment, but after two album cycles, her success also began to dwindle.
I also think that with Gaga, she tried to ride two horses of being a 'credible' singer-songwriter, as well as striving for pop icon status and somehow came up short on both. Her biggest hits like Poker Face and Bad Romance aren't anything particularly innovative. That sound has been around in Europe since the 90s and is perceived as being disposable pop, and certainly not the kind of music that's associated with a serious artist.
As for being an icon, that's something the general public bestows on a celebrity IF they are considered worthy. The record company obviously spent a lot of money on Gaga in the beginning so she had a huge amount of hype. But after the initial burst of coverage, there just wasn't a huge amount of interest in her as a person outside of her fan-base. To most people, Gaga is a pop singer from the early 2010s, which is very different to being a pop culture icon.
I believe that Chromatica is one of her best projects, but its aesthetics are derivative of the hyperpop style that's in vogue.
Now that she launched YET ANOTHER drag-lesque ballad album targeted again at +35yo gays who dont dance anymore and applaud everything she does without any criteria i believe what went wrong is clear as water, just like with pokemon, Fanatism.
I heard on the radio. Her husband was suing her for the rights to her music. Because he gave her the look and her sound. That would make sense why none of her other CDs hit the same way

It´s time to Gaga go pop weird and alternative again and make excellent bangers with purpose! I´m tired of the GAGa "actress" and the "try hard" to be recognized as a serious artist. She was always serious and she don´t recognized! Her true big strength was their weird pop sound, eighties inspired, electronic and dramatic performances. I miss this Gaga!
I mean the radio still pays Just Dance and Poker Face
I know she is still successful and talented and I will always love her but she (her music and visuals) are so boring now. She used to put out hits after hits, a bunch of iconic music videos from a single album, she was the biggest popstar on Earth, she was so damn iconic, her concepts, visuals, her music... she was untouchable. Nothing can top The Fame / The Fame Monster era.
I like Lady Gaga and Madonna. But calling Gaga the next Madonna early on was way wrong... Like the video stated, there is only one megastar which is Madonna.
I think its normal for her popularity to decrease. Britney, Christina, Katy and Gaga have had their ups and downs. Eventually they get tired/bored of doing music when they reach HUGE success. Which leads to putting music aside. It sucks for the fans, but I hope the the four of them are inspired to create new music 🎶 Gaga and all of them have put their stamps in Pop music, and Pop culture ❤

Back in 2017, there was a botched onstage collaboration between Lady Gaga and Metallica at the Grammys. The song that was performed was "Moth Into Flame." Unfortunately, James Hetfield's microphone didn't work for much of the song. Eddie Trunk, whom you brought up in a previous video of yours, was REALLY bothered by the botched collaboration. Trunk has claimed that Lady Gaga danced like an extra in "Rock of Ages" during the performance. Trunk has also claimed to being taken back to that unfortunate moment upon hearing "Moth Into Flame." It hasn't helped matters that presenter Laverne Cox failed to mention Metallica by name right before the performance in question began. Um, is it safe to say that rock is REALLY dead?
By the way, Dancing with Ghosts, what have you generally thought of Australian pop superstar Kylie Minogue? Kylie has indicated that she inspired Lady Gaga. Do you think Lady Gaga would have had the music career she has personally had without Kylie Minogue's apparent influence?
oh yeah i can definitely see the similarities between kylie minogue and lady gaga.. i like kylie's music actually... her comeback stuff mostly as i'm not familiar with her stuff when she was big in the 80's was it?
@@DancingwithGhosts Kylie Minogue did have three Top 40 hits on the "Billboard" Hot 100 chart in the late 1980s. The biggest one by far was a cover of the 1960s Little Eva song "The Loco-Motion." The version of "The Loco-Motion" that Kylie put on the Hot 100 made it all the way to #3.
Out of all the post Madonna female pop superstars Lady Gaga was the most disappointing one. Having said that i love Gaga , she started so greatly, she reached that iconic status with the signature looks so difficult to get in pop culture. I think Gaga created soooo much expectations with her first record that we forget only her first record was "truly" iconic and successful. Born this way was a good but only ok album. Artpop was miserable, her with joanne was boring. Her last solo album surprisingly was good. But gaga will always remain as that girl who came up with that wonderful album called "the fame". After that she just stared to follow trenda
she reminds me of Neymar the footballer, immense potential to get to the top but didn't, but they still had a successful career anyway
Born This Way is literally one of the greatest pop albums of all time, and her best by far
I think you're not on the same thoughts as the pop fans in general. Gaga's three first records (The Fame, The Fame Monster and Born This Way) are considered highly successful and iconic, Artpop is considered and underrated masterpiece, the ASIB soundtrack was another great success. I don't know what y'all expect from her, all her albums have been successful and gave a lot of conversation between pop fans.
Just because you don't like it or find it quite meh doesn't mean it had no impact. Born This Way is memorable af and so is Artpop. The impact is undeniable.
She has no own personality and it shows - she is a sad mentally I’ll person with very serious issues
Shes making an album rn its great
I feel like she's a victim of the same thing that befalls many artists/bands that suddenly blow up. Their first two, maybe three albums are seen as the most amazing thing out at the moment. Then suddenly everyone turns on them or just gets bored. Like you said, sometimes they try to reinvent themselves afterward and it usually just... doesn't work out. Sure, there will always be the diehard fans left behind, but the diehard fans aren't how you get or keep your huge success from before. I think humanity as a whole just has a very short attention span and constantly wants the new exciting thing rather than sitting around to wait for new music from someone they claim they love. ...meanwhile i just keep listening to the same shit I've been listening to since middle and high school. Lol oops.
Also as a follow up, I... just got an ad with Lady Gaga for... a prescription headache medicine? That's different.
I Prefer Gaga doesn't Recycled the Artpop Concept
I Think she Need To give Chromatica ver 2.0 style
If done properly , it can be a new Rennaissance
Ok, Born This Way was definitely a successful album, with very few bad songs on the album. I don't know how old you are to call things that aren't for you or that you don't get "cringe" but it's time to grow up ! Other than that it was a really good video, it expressed very well the frustration that a lot of Lady Gaga fans have been feeling in the past 8/9 years.
Sometimes it feels like she changes her mind way quicker than her career can afford.
After the ARTPOP fiasco, she fully rebranded herself, with Cheek To Cheek, Joanne and A Star Is Born, as a former popstar who makes the music she likes and doesn't care if it works on the charts or not.
But then after that somewhat critically successful yet commercially mitigated era she dropped Chromatica, a full-on mainstream pop album with a lot of commercial potential if well promoted/marketed. There were many great songs in this album and I could totally see Babylon, 911 and Sour Candy working well on the charts. Chromatica could have been another Born This Way, even another The Fame Monster if done well.
But not only was Chromatica released in very difficult time for the music industry, she also flatout IGNORED the album after it was released. I get that with the heavy political landscape at the time (COVID, BLM & re-elections coming up) promoting your pop album would have made her look very bad. But I can't help but feel like it was so weird as a Lady Gaga stan because we literally waited years for this album, and it was a good album, it really was. But she acted like it never existed, never promoted it and went back to work on her acting career, changing her mind yet again in the span of a few months.
All I know today as a Lady Gaga stan who used to be obsessed with her from Just Dance to G.U.Y, is that she's not the popstar she used to be, nor does she really want it. She tried to resurrect her superstardom in 2020 but the whole world was dealing with something greater at that time, and I wouldn't be surprised that she took this failure as a sign that it wasn't her destiny to became a heavyhitter again.
I also believe that the trajectory Lady Gaga's career has taken has demonstrated something greater than just "pop music is dying" or "Lady Gaga is the last popstar". I think people just don't want to get involved in music as much as they used to. We don't crave the gasping at a videoclip or gossiping about rivalry between two popgirls as much as we did in the early 2010s. Internet and social media has massively raised awareness on environmental, societal and political issues, and that's for the better. Now, we sort of look down upon talking about Ariana Grande's homewrecking accusations or Dua Lipa's next sample album. We know that there are much bigger issues right now that need our attention.
Um I think about her atleast twice a week. She never fell off she just always ahead. If she made the same sound every album people would get bored. She literally just made history with die with a smile for the fastest song ever to hit a billion streams😹
Gaga just had a change of career trajectory, but she is still successful.
Born this way to me was when she became a parody of herself and the things she did AMAZINGLY on Fame/FM seem contrived on BTW. THAT BEING SAID: the visuals were fire. Album cover, photoshoots, she was firmly in her bag on that level i really miss that Gaga she be doing the milquetoast shi now

@@DancingwithGhostsYeah, to me Alejandro always sounded like a mix of Ace of Base & a modernized ABBA.

The Fame Monster is NOT an EP, it's a stand alone album, that makes BTW her third. Can'e even begin to compehend how can someone call the title song 'basic' and the video cringy. It was and it is a piece of art. Maybe in today's culture, everything that contains a little bit of story or emotion is considered 'CRINGY' but back than it was a masterpiece. With BTW she was at the literal peak of her career and decline of her career declined with ARTPOP. It was poorly managed because everything with her management went to hell right before the release. So do your research a little better.
Her most complex song and the best production were on Born This Way album and the Scheisse song is about a little bit more than 'mumbling language she can't speak'. Again, BETTER RESEARCH.
👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
Tbf it was kind of sold as both because of a disagreement between her and her label. They wanted it as a repackage EP and she wanted it as a standalone album so it was sold as both. In some countries you could only buy it included with the fame.
The Fame Monster is billed as an EP but is a mini-album at best. It's an addendum to The Fame and part of its deluxe reissue. It's NOT a standalone full-length and can't even be purchased on its own in some territories.
Never heard of a someone who was branded a FAD by 2014 continue to have number 1 albums, a number 1 movie, golden globe, more number 1s & top 5 singles, do the halftime show, win an Oscar BAFTA Award, Golden Globe Award, and another Grammy Award and surpass in streaming Taylor swift in 2024 with another top 5 billboard hot 100 single. not everyone has that💋
My wife and I were big Lady Gaga fans before Born This Way. Since then we don't even care. We still listen to her early stuff, but not very often. She could turn her career around by going back to her early sound, but I don't see it happening.
Yes, because you and your wife are the barometer for a pop singer's success, lol. Gaga has 6 #1 albums total. people have liked her music after The Fame/Monster.
@@TheDreamingDays Everyone has the right to like what they want to like. If most people are eating garbage it doesn't make it right though.
No one said anyone HAS to like Gaga. Learn how to read.@@dennislogan6781
@@dennislogan6781 Have you listened to the rest of her work though? Born This Way, Artpop and A Star Is Born have many great songs.
@@rao803 I have and I don't agree with you. I the first two, and I don't really like any songs that much except Born this way kind of sort of. I still stand by my original statement.
Gaga was incredible in House Of Gucci though, so at least she`s staying at least somewhat relevant still. I absolutely LOVED House Of Gucci, i don`t even fully understand why? I have ZERO interest or knowledge of fashion? I wasn`t a Lady Gaga fanatic either? Its just a great story that is told VERY well with solid acting throughout. Highly recommended!
I actually thought she was awful in House of Gucci. Her Italian 'accent' sounded like something out of a comedy sketch ('I eata the pasta') and it didn't feel like she inhabited the role at all - just Gaga talking silly.
@@anonnymous4684 I`m not exactly familiar with a genuine Italian accent so to me she sounded fine? But i really enjoyed her performance, i didn`t get any unrealistic/bad acting vibes at all and thought she was great? It`s not like i`m a Gaga fanatic either, i remember her music and liked some of it. But as a pop personality i just felt she was a subpar Madonna copy and some of her bizarre fashion choices way too try hard. But in Gucci i thought she was great, i even kinda wanted to hate her and her performance but was surprised by her and the movie in general.
@@anonnymous4684and her opposite didn't do am even worse job? 😂😂 you guys are nuts. Gaga carried that movie and she was surrounded by literal Hollywood legends.
She’s a terrible actor and she literally financed all movies she was part of to get the main part
Also Stupid Love is the lead single of Chromatica
She just not that ambitious anymore. She probably in a happy status now ,making all that money from her makeup, foundation ,etc.I really think her upcoming album or film will miss the expectation, hopefully that will make her hungry again
Rain On Me was not the lead single, that was Stupid Love (a #5 hit).
Also your chart data is wrong considering Chromatica had sold over a million units (equivalent) in the US alone as of January 2022. Hell it sold 205k PURE SALES ONLY in the first week in the US.
Please do actual research before doing videos like these.
Chromatica had sold more than a million units worldwide before 2023 it's just labels have to pay for certifications so they sometimes take years to update them. It's certified platinum in the US and in several other music markets. It's definitely over 2 million units world wide. Rain On Me was not the lead single and was a pretty big hit especially globally. The reason why units are now used is because nobody really buys music anymore, even huge artists who can still do ok in pure sales have to use tricks to shift them like Taylor and her physical variants, that's really the only way to do large numbers of pure sales and you need a big fanbase for that.
Generally a lot of misinfo and bias in this video. Gaga is by no means as big as she was early in her career but she's still one of the most successful female artists in the world.
Por fin alguien piensa igual que yo. Igual considero que BTW marco un antes y un después en su carrera musical de lo positivo a lo negativo.
I'll always love lady gaga. I feel awful about how she must've felt, and to be under that much pressure to top yourself. Literally competing with herself. I love that she found acting and hope to see her continue on for many years. And who knows, maybe she will make another album like "fame." I do want to know, what music does she TRULY want to make? I would be curious to see her make an album of the genre she really wants to perform. Remember what Pink did, she was not at all interested in R&B, but it was what got her out there. She was lucky to end up such a success making the music she really wanted to make, and she blew up. Do u think she would have such a great career if she stayed R&B? Probably not. Gaga is so talented and i dont see her fading from music, unless its by choice. Dont give up on your music gaga!! I cant wait for u to have your true comeback!! ❤
i think Jo Anne was probably the closest to the music she actually wanted to make
I have the theory that the arrival of lana del rey move away the culture from lady gaga at first it looked like people wanted popstars that looked like they were from another planet but look at now from lorde, billie eilish, Charlie xcx , taylor swift or even to a extent chappell roan and sabrina carpenter people want singers with some element of relativity and down to earth vibe maybe even some element of depression
Gaga just got into a Zero Build and got herself a 20 body kill with a common AR
I feel like the more she released stuff and became famous for it, the more she became aware of how she comes accross. It seems even a little too calculated whereas before it felt so spontaneous, so visceral of her. She even had a good sense of humour to her. The more her career became political and humanitarian, the more boring it got. It became less creativity and experimentation driven and became more activism, social service driven. Lady Gaga was "weird" because she broke rules and wanted to expand the limits of what a popstar could be like. Before, she was fighting to stay outside the box whereas now she sits comfortably inside it.
Sir, no offence - but the moment you called out the Born This Way album cover as one of the worst of all time is the moment I realised you do not understand Lady Gaga. This is a very general public point of view, and that's cool - it's good to know what the audience are thinking.
Without her we would not have the masterpiece. I perform this way by Weird Al
lmao this is true
That evil Bih has been deleted 🙅🏾♀️ for crimes against humanity, amongst many others...jast ask Jeff Ep or marina abramovic 👿
Hear me out:
Firstly, you're just a Madonna fan in disguise, obviously.
Secondly, even you can't compare Gaga and Madonna in an apple-to-apple way. The landscape of music consumption within the last 10 years has vastly changed compared to the 20 years between the 80s to 00s. The artist has to promote their music through TV shows, radio, etc up until 10s. So, Gaga came at the edge of that era. Then why was Taylor Swift able to pull it off? Well, Gaga had changed her trajectory of career cause she has countless talents to offer, so why should stick to one scope?
She has the power still, but she doesn't want to. To be successful in music is not her one and only projection for her 15-year career into the scene. So, let's not compare her impact with Madonna or other mainstream singers cause their approach was different. Even in the acting scene, she continues to make an impact and inspires other artists beyond the music industry.
Thirdly, do you suggest she be extravagant and keep the aesthetic for her entire career? C'mon, that's lame. That would not work either. She became huge because she broke the rules. What's the point of being weird while the other main pop girls are trying the same way nowadays?
In conclusion, you're video would be more relevant if you added "music" in the subject cause she is still huge as an artist - just look at the numbers of the Joker trailer itself. Not to mention her A Star Is Born era.
Honestly I truly believe she achieved what she came for initially and brilliantly extended the relationship connections aesthetically and conclusively . Especially the first two albums [The Fame(MONSTER) EP ]that Set the modern/2000s era tone and articulated ,showcasing a global theatre on “pop culture “ in real time collectively in sync with her actual career (a star born). Literally formulated a stage name“L.GAGA” as a vessel to channel the beauty and brutality of fame , the rise and fall , the light and the dark. The contrast of a stars fame . It’s shows the average person who chases ” it “as the “American dream” knowing little or nothing about “it” but only the glory $ide 📸. I truly believe Her message was loud and clear. A tribute to the ‘fame” , a tribute the culture a tribute to the stars and a tribute to the “ART” in “POP”- culture. The powerful grip and illusion that“The Fame” has. “its” a very powerful unconscious conscious, unpredictable entity that evolves in stages with each individual star’s cycle. She out grew the era because she accomplished her goal and message. B.T.W was the true anticipated release because it’s a whole different POV of the character L.G in her “art pop culture “story. It’s like novels being released with a spin keeping you ALMOST full never quite there making you want more as we watch a character and real person grow thru the cycle . example: “fame and Fortune “. It’s never seems to be enough. This is my interpretation . I truly believe She blew up and did her thing( brilliantly! )and like most A-listers , she truly wanted that one thing most.. just more control over her life and her grand uncontrollable career path. Which is really hard to undo… it can be frightening , lonely ,sad etc. and I’m glad she has/is doing what she truly wants for her. Plus her acoustics and Jazz are my favourite❤.
Then he walked out right before her 4th album released and derailed the rollout because he saw her numbers were slightly dropping by the end of born this way album cycle. Thought Meghan trainor was his next cash cow
I totally agree on everything you said.. except abour birj this way. Maybe looking back it was a bit, well definitely, try hard.. but i still wnotyed the album and video! And i believe many people did. But everything else is right... She just . . Fizzled out. Oh well. Its time gor her to ride the nostalgia wave to make money. Lol. That and acting, which she seems to be better at.
Honestly, she got to weird… and was all about being “edgy” or political, instead of just being considerate about making good music
False, that’s just that people were too stupid to see further than her antics
Oh and Whitney. Cannot forget Whitney. So Madonna, Mariah, Whitney and Taylor, special club Decade or more of dominance.
Mariah faded in the 2000s AND unlike the rest her "hits" were PAYOLA and SAMPLES. not the same.
Woah how dare you say that about born this way. As one of the lgbtq community you should be able to respect the lyrics as it is a great song.
OJ died an innocent man, ya 🤡
Missy Elliot did the "weird" thing before all those chicks.
Umm she's in Joker 2 LOL
Gaga needs to get back in the studio with RedOne. He composed the music, and the melodies. Gaga provided the lyrics and incredible artistry. Both need each other.
red one is out of time for a decade, now is jack antonoff everywhere
You obviously too also must have had 3 teenage sisters in the year 2009 😂😂😂
wdym? shes still an icon
The way you said some of the stuff about her in this video which is false information, and very corny, but I am not going to say anything because I am a nice person
When she grew a new jaw and lost her nose in 2015...that's when the scheiße hit the fan.
I think she burnt out on so many looks during The Fame. She could've spread them out into different eras. Plus she getting older and keeping the electronica and bizarre outfits isn't working for her.
bc lina morgana's power is running out for her
Omg I love madonna
i mostly don't agree with you.
as a true gaga lover i felt it was after Joanne that she changed.
let's be honest... everything that she did up untill then was ''gaga''.
now however gaga truly doesn't exist anymore.
she ran out of ideas
@@DancingwithGhosts or even another pokerface like song and video... it would be so amazing if she would go into that style again and give it a new crazy twist.

i personally never look at popularity.
and that's what she stood for aswel.
she always said she didn't care.
she said she was in this business to be there for people.

Disagree with you on so many points. And you completely glazed over 2014/15 gaga era 😂
The Lady Gaga cycle reminds me of Pam Anderson making Barbed Wire.
hate to break it to you, but Lady Gaga isn't Gaga anymore ... she's just as "boring" as the other artists, no creativity ... what a. shame
Do a better research before posting stuff…
4:00 - Looks like a poor man's H. R. Giger-esque attempt.
lol right?
Lady Gaga is the girl Justin Hawkins. She was also the worst actor in American horror stories until Kim Kardashian was cast as a major character.
Uuhh Gaga did GREAT in AHS
and you are..?
Her problem was she could actually sing. That's a no no.
She’s just not around anymore. Too bad, very talented artist.
collaborating with Ariana grande...
how low can she sink..... damn.
a bike can be rided
Lmao what is he talking about
Facework
Plastic surgery era
Don't be an idiot please.
i feel like you hate successful women
very weird take
I doubt you've watched the entire video.
he literally praised QUEEN OF POP MADONNA MORE THAN ONCE
She is Harley Quinn this year. Thats not big enough? What do you want from her
that's literally the only thing she's had going for her for the past like 4 years
@DancingwithGhosts not you ignoring House of Gucci and the sold-out Chromatica world tour. And the fact that 2 out of 4 of those years were pandemic times 😂😂. She won the Tricon AND artist of the year award (plus more) in 2020. And let's not forget the rap/trap dominance during those years also. NO pop stars were that big during those years. Dua Lipa was probably the biggest and she never reached even ARTPOP's level of success.
Stop being a hater. This is clearly not an unbiased review of Gaga's career.
@@loloppololp9304 plus her jazz and vegas residency, makeup line, collab with rolling stones, Tom Cruise is not enough for him.
