Nice one. Pretty expensive, for that i would have expected a Titanium efficiency, and better efficiency at low loads. But it's a nice step forward for passive units. For reviews of these kinds of units, a video taken with thermal/infrared camera under different loads would be nice, i think.
In the LTT Lab review of the GF A3, both the tested Thermaltake GF A3 units stopped functioning during testing. Meanwhile it got a fine review/nothing wrong with it from you. Are the PSU tests maybe not thorough enough on hwbuster?
Breaking a unit during testing is the easiest part. The most difficult part is running all tests correctly and extracting accurate results, which is the ultimate goal. I have been doing this job for 15 years, and I have been an electronics engineer for more than 30 years. I also happen to run Cybenetics. You can look at my LinkedIn page and then make better judgments. www.linkedin.com/in/crmaris/ So when someone who just started testing PSUs manages to break them during testing, you should be skeptical about his/her methodology and ask for more details instead of going around and writing BS.
for the story, LTT's unit is different from the one I tested; it is from a different OEM, although it has the same OEM. So next time do your homework better!
@@Violet-uilol they just tested the one with the other oem and it also failed with them. They gave you a hard time while hwbusters themselfs criticizing thermaltake that they had another oem platform while using the same name. You're question was very relevant, a normal consumer shouldn't be expected to know there are different platforms used in the same model name
Thank you for the review. Do you know if warranty includes coil whine? I had a prime titanium fanless 600W start making a high pitch hissing sound at medium loads after 4 years. And email support was a chatbot sending me irrelevant suggestions...
Unfortunate it doesn't live up to the performance you'd expect from a $500 PSU, I hope they are able to gain more experience and improve their future offerings.
Since the BOM of the PSU must be around 40 to 50$ at the most, providing a 15-year warranty is nothing. Even if you RMA it five times during these 15 years and they replace your unit with a brand new one every time, it's still profitable.
I don't understand why cooler master presented the silent x psu series and the mighty psu series at ces 2024. It's been 7 months. At computex 2024 they presented the same psu things practically again. To an email of mine asking when they would release the mighty series, I was told that they don't know. But...what kind of politics is this?

A passive master by Cooler Master, but more like an intermediate? We shall see in the near future then. Great reiew as always!
It's passive, but not using its digital controllers. A first step towards a better, cheaper second model. That's what he meant.
@@davidgunther8428 I know what he meant. :-)

And what makes you think ltt tested properly or didn't get duds.

Not a clue, unfortunately, about that. I guess coil whine has to do with the brand's mood, if they will replace it or not.
Wow...

Now all that remains is to create a heat sink that cools 1000W passively.
A new tool for destructive testing? 😊

This PSU's BOM is WAY higher than what you state. Bulk caps alone can cost 10-15$. Quality 500-600W modular Bronze units have the BOM you mention.

Ben de aynı isyan içindeyim. Artık piyasada görmek istiyorum bu ürünleri. Cooler Master, duy sesimizi kardeşim.
I'd never trust a passive PSU.
