I love this Van Gogh series. Here is another really interesting fact. As an astrologer, we have studied his natal chart and transits. The Moon, at the recorded time of this painting, was literally a full moon. He paints it as a crescent moon. Perhaps his view was blocked by the wall and he could only paint a crescent?

Wow, this is fascinating! Honestly, that could easily have been the case. Or, maybe he saw it but felt like the balance in the composition needed a crescent moon instead? Such a fascinating detail I didn’t know.
Thanks so much for the feedback, and for watching the series! More episodes coming out soon. 🙌

I read that he wasn't allowed to paint in his bedroom, that he sketched there and painted in a studio room on the ground floor ???

Actually, I asked a similar question when I was there. Apparently, they fully embraced his painting, and encouraged him to paint everywhere! They even turned an empty room into a studio right beside his bedroom. It's no wonder he felt his best in years while staying here.
Thanks for the feedback, and for watching!

Because you don't have the education to understand fine art.
