Lego wouldn’t sue them like that, their only history with suing knock off brands is ones that actually ripped off their set designs, like lepin
Yeah lego is okay with other brands as long as they're original designs. If it's a direct copy of a lego design then that's when it's a problem. But if it's an original design it's no different than mochub. Selling parts for something made with lego but not released by lego.
Yeah there is no way Lego would sue them when the stuff that Mcfarlene toys made were not ripoffs of Lego sets and were kinda unique in their own way.

LEGO can’t sue a company over the use of the construction block because the original patent expired in 2011.
The most likely answer to the question would be that fnaf simply is no longer the media juggernaut it was once the therefore McFarlane let go of the license to avoid a dip in profits

This is so sad. I used to love collecting these Mcfarlane sets. In fact Mcfarlane used to be my number one favorite thing to collect. (Now they’re beaten by the Hex plushies) I have almost every single set in my collection. I don’t just by mcfarlane for the figures, But also for the locations that funko never gives us With any of their lines. And unlike Funko With their plushies, Mcfarlane hardly screwed their minifigures up. I do look foward to the new line of Funko snap FNAF merch.

It wouldn't be to do with the similarities with Lego. Lego bricks are patented, and the patent has long since expired - which is why anyone can make brick build products. For example Mattel with Mega Bloks and Mega Construx, Kinex etc.
My theory as to why there are no more construction sets is because when the UA-camr Puppet Steve interviewed the person who makes these sets he said that he works with Scott to make these.
So I assume the reason they don't make these anymore might have something to do with Scotts retirement but I can't be for certain since neither Scott or McFarlane toys have not said anything about this.
Living in the Netherlands really makes it difficult to find these things. In America you can just walk into a store and buy them for a fair price. In the Netherlands we have to buy them online because we don't have fnaf merch in the Netherlands. But in order to buy like one wave worth of sets you need to be a multimillionaire it feels like. The prices are fricking unfair

Let me explain….
So this wave actually sold pretty good and many people, such as myself, were waiting for more fnaf 6 sets like scrap trap and scrap baby.
But I think it was put to an end because of funko’s new FNAF snap which are small customizable figures that come with playsets (like mcfarlne’s sets but instead of lego bricks it’s just a normal playset) that’s my theory.
I used to have the FNAF 3 office. i remember when my parents bought me it. Now nowhere to be found and they've just disappeared and can no longer be bought. I can't remember how much it cost but now it'd be a fortune if I were to buy.
i use to collect so many mcfarlane fnaf sets in the past. the nostalgia would be so cool if i could manage to get my hands on a mcfarlane fnaf set. man, they were legendary. they're also not in stores anymore. rip
I really wish they still had a license, I really loved the sets, I really wanted to get Toy Chica and nightmare Balloon boy, but the issue is that people are selling em very over priced, alot of the sets are hard to get and very expensive but I don't think it will stop me from getting Toy Chica or Nightmare Balloon boy.
I really like having little diorama sets with the characters and locations. Makes it so much fun and tangible!

Lego cant sue, they dont have a paten or something for the bricks, so they are unable to sue for it
I really wish I could at least track down a few of the FNAF 1 sets and get them but the aftermarket has rendered that virtually impossible. Boxed sets now are going for hundreds of dollars each now. It’s absurd.
I agree, I was looking online for the Fnaf 2 office with the plushies because I absolutely adore them, but it sells for like 100 dollars from what I’ve seen. So if anyone knows where to get them for cheaper, or if you know someone who sells just the plushies for cheaper, then tell me.

This is really sad, I really love collecting these sets, there are very awesome but in 2020 it was the last we ever got the last sets, also us lego fans we plan out some awesome ideas for future sets

The reason McFarland stopped making Legos is because they went bankrupt and if you go to their website, they have the exact same toys and nothing else and never changes
I doubt LEGO would care, they don’t take down random copy’s unless they exactly copy Lego, enter Lepin.
It would actually be cool to see a official five nights at Freddy’s Lego set, and I was looking for the FNAF 3 sets (springtrap) and like it’s gone. Man I really want springtrap he’s such a good character.

Being someone who has loved fnaf since 2016 (but wasn’t old enough to buy the sets) it’s sad to see now that about 2 yrs ago I was finally able to purchase them but they are all now extremely overpriced
I bought so many of these when they first came out. I made loads of profit when I sold them during lockdown. I really regret selling them though, as I would like to have them back. They have pretty much doubled/tripled in price since I sold them.

Licenses expire. Chances are, the license just expired, and they haven't renewed it.
I think FNAF is not the only sets that are dead. It also seems that Mcfarlane just canned their ENTIRE construction set toyline in general. I think it might be possible to email mcfarlane and ask them but I don't know if they would respond. Someone would have to ask them.

I don’t think Lego made them stop Lego has tried to do stuff like that in the past and sometimes they got away with it and sometimes they didn’t because most of the bricks are considered in the public domain considering how most of the bricks that looked like Legos are rather simple and the ones that are special pieces I don’t match up to anything of what Lego has I am guessing that it’s not the case
I highly doubt Lego sued McFarlane mostly because lego itself isn’t a original idea and in fact lego copied another more smaller brand in their early years when they were still making wood toys. The brand lego “copied” congratulated lego on their success so they are on good terms which is nice. But since lego doesn’t really own the right to the brick itself they can’t sue other companies for copying their “idea” so that’s why company’s like megablocks and Lepin can get away *scott* free (we’ll lepin can tecnectly get sued still since they copied lego’s company name design with the font and yellow/red/white coloring but still). If I had to guess the most likely solution is your 2nd theory, funko is the main fnaf toy seller so it makes sense why they would also wanna include construction sets in their merch consisting of action figures/pops/plushies/ect
Yea, honestly the sue theory is absolutely ridiculous, Lego only sues companies which creates rip offs of their sets, not completely original ones.
They just most likely lost their licence due to time stated on their contract
Lego wouldn't sue them. The interlocking bricks that they use weren't patented, therefore, any company can use these bricks, they just can't copy sets that already exist.

I have the golden Freddy and foxy fnaf 1 set of these figures and I think what happened is that the license expired and they simply didn’t want to continue making them because other companies like funko were making more money off of the fnaf merchandise and McFarland made almost all the game characters and decided it was time to stop

actually no, i just googled an lego doesnt own the copyright to plastic building blocks. the only own the copyright to their instructions and set. every kind of lego rip off that doesnt copy sets 1to1 is technically very legal

I think that they may waited for sb to release so that they could make sets without spoilering the game.

I don’t think Lego would’ve threatened with suing them. McFarlane toys aren’t ripping off existing Lego sets, plus McFarlane have had buildable lines for other brands like Walking Dead. I think they just lost the license. Whether that be because they couldn’t come to an agreement on new terms or someone else has the license to FNAF merch
Legos patent of interconnecting bricks has expired a long time ago so whatever company can do it like megablocks/megaconstructs

I’m honestly glad that Macfarlane doesn’t make the toys anymore. The sets were ridiculously difficult to put together and they constantly fell apart. When you build a set, you’ll have to glue it together. They look nice, but they’re not great. I hope that these FNAF toy sets will be made with better materials.

mcfarlane didn't get sued they just lost there lisence cause lisencing can only last for 10 years and funko must have renewed there lisence and its been 10 years i counted wrong i think

The patent for Lego bricks expired a long time ago allowing other companies to use the design leading to knock off Lego bricks use the same basic design So Lego cannot technically sue them
LEGO don't OWN construction sets.. Just like Scott doesn't own Scary Animatronics, LEGO only sues when their sets are copied by knockoff brands.

I had the show stage set and it ended up getting wrecked and the pieces are all lost now, I would buy it again but those prices are certainly something I’ll tell you that, what a shame.

I had the golden freddy pack and its the only one i had as a kid i would sleep with my parentns so i tell them dont move around too much you'll break the parts and i wont find him LOL it was the only thing i played with.

I've seen a short video, saying how Lego is taking down off brand Lego (mostly custom Minifigures, and probably McFarlane since they made off brand Legos) so I think Lego being against FNAF is probably true
Lego can't do that. They're only cracking down on custom minifigs and knockoff versions of their sets (reusing a set design that already exists and selling it as their own). The interlocking brick design that lego uses wasn't patented, so many other companies such as Mega Construx and Cobi are making sets that Lego wouldn't and Lego's not suing them.
I really hope lego gets their fnaf license. Dont get me wrong, the mcfarlane sets were cool, but they were really overpriced. As a lego collector and a huge fnaf fan, at least a big fnaf 1 set would've been phenomenal.

It's sad really, im a lego enjoyer myself but i never got the chance to collect these amazing sets because i live in a country that didn't sell these. And lego will probably never make fnaf merch as the francise it is too violent.
