Can't understand why Sewell isn't an even bigger star than he is.
Like Charles Dance found his shoe as Tywin Lannister, perhaps John Smith is the role that Sewell needed to propel his reputation a lot higher in the business.
I was in college when I first saw him in Dark City. I think it was 1998? It surprised me he didn’t take off right away. He and Damien Lewis are great actors that should get more roles.
Rufus is a great actor! Needs to be in more films. (If he wants)
I think he said he doesn't want to do many films anymore, that he enjoys TV more because it gives him a chance to develop characters over a longer period of time. And Americans usually pigeonhole him as a typical villain in films. But I'm sure if a good opportunity presented itself he would take it. :)
rufus plays him as master piece roll
Rufus Sewell is too underrated. Incredibly talented and smart actor.
Rufus. As sharp as a katana's edge.
And he's not even Japanese
Rufus totally nails the essence of the series and the real life parallels in America today.

it sure is an honor even for them to play those roles...in my opinion they should have got nominated for emmys...this is as almost as good as breaking bad..
the acting is pretty good, the dialogue is very predictable and bland. story seems to taper off into vagueness
@@boxermccoy This is a year later but I couldn't disagree more. As a show about characters there's some of the best development and evolution of characters I think I've ever seen in a show.

The show was well acted by everyone, but wow smith was an amazing character. Dude deserves more roles.
Rufus really fit the character perfectly. I finished the final episode and I enjoyed watching these characters develop from beginning till the end. I was hoping for John to become that man the he was supposed to be after he took control of the American Reich but unfortunately he’d committed so many atrocious acts that places him at a point of no return.

I would say the Japanese pacific States, because even though there is an obvious Apartheid style system in place there, it's still hell a lot better than the Greater Reich, because they discriminate indiscriminately. You are either Japanese or a second class citizen. No genealogy nonsense and no genocides.
I'm part Native American, and in the series as long as you didn't cause trouble the Japanese left people alone. I wouldn't be in the American Reich because I would be a forced laborer. So I would have to defect to the Japanese Pacific States.

Most Asian-Americans are probably cheering for the Japanese, you know, shared Asian pride and all that. Japan originally wanted to free all other Asian countries from Western colonialism, and saw itself as the best fitted to do so because it was the only country in Asia to escape being colonized. I guess in this world, they have an Asia truly united.
