- Man doc take a look at the 51 John Deere that we rescued from the abandoned farmstead let's see what we got is this tractor going to be restoreable or is it going to end up being parts you never know
You are sounding a lot better! Glad you are feeling better now!
I grew up in Western Nebraska family farm enjoyed your farm story we had a G and an A. I never understood why farmers loved these tractor I liked the International M much more and of course when case came out with the case-o-matic that beat them all.
There’s something about those old John Deere’s. Cool tractor. Hope you restore it.
Dave, I'm glad it didn't start for your sake, and Doc's. 😅 Should be a runner.
First tractor I ever drove by myself was one of those. Wish we still had it.
Or, they coulda been a John Deer thief. You would be surprised. When I lived in Round Rock Tx. there were "Rose Thieves" These little old ladies would go about stealing graftings. Some roses are rarer than others. I being a Minn. Yankee laughed, we all are the same. LOL m
Àusum it's not stuck half the battle luv 2cyl John deers very cool 😊
❤cool ❤
Great barn find, Dave! Do you know what happened to the John Deere D tractor that was replaced by the A? Look forward to seeing what you do with your newest addition to your collection. Hope you and your family are doing well. 🚜 👍
If the throttle is all the way back, it shuts off the fuel, so bump up the throttle. Must be late 52 because some of those features are the same as the 60
Something is unusual about the flywheel.
DAVE DAVE DAVE. Thats a rare A. Turn arond and look. Thats a late A and it's a AF A.
Flat petal starter button
All tractors were offered except the Fordson super major… Why ?
What is the two fuel tanks on the back by the steering wheel
Hi Dave, if I was closer than in Tennessee, I would buy this from you. Used to do alot of 2 cylinder work years ago, before everyone was reproducing parts for these. An All-Fuel A like this I would guess is uncommon. Check the Green Magazine for parts, and one of the authors specializes in carb work for these as well. Be great to change it over to distributor. Great that it turns over so nice. I think the hotter plugs, D21, will make it run alot better. Good luck!!
I am not too familiar with the John Deere's you can't be fun to a rheumatic what exactly is a robomatic and what is this purpose🤔???
Just wanted to ask if you are sure about the year? This is an all-fuel A, you can tell from the two fuel tanks. The later A's mostly had a distributor as well,, which is much more a desirable tractor. They should start easily once you have spark and are getting gas.
