New known issue: "We're investigating reports where some players are unable to craft tonics. As a temporary workaround, players can sign in to an alternate character to create tonics." I have this bug on my 2nd character but not my 3rd. As stated by Bungie. The only workaround is doing it on another Character. This softlock doesn't let you activate to make a Tonic. You can still spend mats for Tonics. It's not wasting them. If crafted on another character. It will imbue whatever was queued.
Man,I love spending hours in this game, not knowing what to do waisting precious hours.... then find this video telling you in great detail how to do it..... now I have to go back and spend more hours doing it the right way...... Episode 2 Revenant Act 1. This is pretty early information as this was recorded on Day 1. Nothing is timegated for Act 1 and so on. So you can get this all done pretty quickly. To unlock more recipes for Tonics. It is by crafting the same Tonics. 5 - 6 Greens for 1 blue unlock 3 - 4 Blues for 1 purple to unlock If you're going for 30 Recipes in total to finish all of the Minor, Major and Act 1 Key Fieldworks. 15 Volatile Tonics 10 World Gear Tonics 5 Seasonal Armor Tonics (You will have extra from Onslaught: Salvation Tonics) World Gear and Armor Tonics will only cost Reclaimed Vitality and Enriching Powder. Those are the cheapest and easiest to grind. Volatile Tonics will cost Volatile flakes but those can be earned from anywhere. Meanwhile, the Enriching Flakes are mostly only from Onslaught: Salvation. Reclaimed Vitality can be farmed anywhere in the game. You will see Red Ether on deaths from enemies. Not on every kill but on some cooldown. Once you start to see it. Try to get in a kill streak to get the most out of it. 8:14 Try the IN THE DEEP mission on the Moon, specifically with Arc Conductor ERGO SUM (Wave Frame is excellent here). Once you collect the Cryptoglyph, WIPE and then farm endless hoards of Thrall. Arc Conductor ERGO SUM kills even the Thrall which sneak up behind you. Make sure you kill the sniping Akolytes first after coming back from the WIPE, since they don't respawn and will drive you nuts if you don't. Super quick and easy resource gathering and with Special Ammo finders you never run out of ammo. I found this much faster than doing this with Graviton Lance.
What about volatile POWDER? I can't seem to figure out where the hell to get it but keep being told I need it hahahaha. Thank god for people like you because, as we know, Destiny tends to be VERY vague!

With Bounty Harvester upgrade. Claiming any Daily Bounty. Can be Green, Blue or Purple. With Revenant Recycler upgrade. Dismantling any Revenant weapon will mostly drop any green (maybe blue). With Performance Bonus upgrade. During Onslaught: Salvation. Completing any Bonus Objectives will give you greens and blues. Expert Onslaught: Savaltion drops lots of blues and greens from 50 waves. Normal is fine too.

Yeah, that second item happened to me, I was able to "what does this button do" my way back out. Only open your Tonics menu from the new top row of the Inventory page, folks.
Great video thanks for explanation I only have one question: im stuck because i just dont find the recipes for all the Shadestalker tonics and all the Resource tonics the others i hav most of them
The shadestalker armor tonic, Onslaught: Salvation Weapon tonic and Vintage Salvation Weapon tonic comes from the Tonic of Onslaught Gear. The green one will show 3 potential rewards. So when you craft 5 of those. You will get 1 in 3 of a blue one. So technically, to get all recipes from that tonic. You need to craft it 15 times. For resource tonics. You need to finish the Act 1 Key Fieldwork quest. That is the "endgame" of Act 1. Finishing everything else will lead you to them.

Nice vid - However, looking at Eido shows 45 tonics and im at 38... Also more to come with dungeon etc. My question is this... How do we get the CLASS ARMOR to drop - there are only 4 tonics for all but, the class... which would be 5.... Tried using general armor drop but, noone I know yet has dropped any Shadestalker CLASS Armor... its such a grind this season already.... Completed expert salvation but, no triumph - gotta do normal... which suck and I guess its the 2030 version since it does NOT actually say NORMAL.
So yea, Right now I'm at 45/45. Dungeon is not part of the Episode. So don't expect anything to overlap. Class armor doesn't have random stats. So there isn't a reason to grind for them. So there is no tonic for those. I haven't myself tried to get it. I'll test it out in a bit but it would be just using any of the shadestalker tonic. Blue or Purple. If anything. You can pick up the Class Armor in Act III Season Pass. As worst case scenario. As for Triumph. I'm assuming you mean for the emblem? Normal would be the 2030. That is correct. More tonics will come in Act II & III. Adding more Resource Tonics and Weapons Tonics.

this all seems right but a lot of people have the Tonic Brewing Guide bugged and can use tonic that are created, basically says to collect the reagents I go there to pick up and doesn’t do anything Because of that can’t use potions in game. Created a lot but doesn’t show up anything and can’t use it in game.
When it comes to bugs. I always seem to avoid it. So it's a bit hard for me to pinpoint it. I know opening the Tonic Capsule from your quest tab doesn't work and must be from the inventory. Not sure if that is it.
This sounds like the very beginning quests. I've read it's kind of a softlock if you messed up by spending your resources. I think you can just do a run of Onslaught: Salvation (Located in the Last city). Just do the playlist on if you can. Only 10 waves. Should be quick.
thats not a lost sector. its the breakneck mission from lightfall. this part is early on in the mission. when you get to it just kill everyting except the wyvern then let it kill you and you restart the encounter at the door. its used like a smaller version of shuro-chi but its better in one way because although thers not as many adds the rally banner at the door is free
Tonic of Onslaught Gear (Green). Has 3 Tonics that can be crafted from it. So keep making that tonic until you get the blue tonics. There is no green vintage one. It's only blue.
From my intial grind, it was pretty straightforward. I was able to grind and craft all 15 Volatile tonics by just trying to unlock the Fieldworks. I would say the ingrediant bundles helped a lot. After playing more. I would say normal Onslaught: Salvation is a safe choice. I also ran and finished a Expert Onslaught: Salvation. Now that may sound scary but for some reason if you queue up for Eventide Ruins. The Power was not scaled at all. Nothing was skulls. It gave me like 30+ blues.
As far as I know. Expert Onslaught: Salvation will give you the most. For some reason, my last run on Eventide Ruins was not power-scaled. It was very easy. Gave 30 - 40 blue flakes. Normal runs to 50 are fine too.
Leave it bungie to provide something additive to the game by requiring one to sink more grindy hours doing nothing relative or natural to the game to make it work. Could’ve just given all the recipes and the resources to come from playing the game, but no. It’s clear they want people to play the game and force statistical data. They don’t care about making the game fun to play but requiring one to play for longer periods of time

So is it a random chance to unlock higher tier enriching tonics when crafting lower tier ones? I currently have all the volatile tonics unlocked
@RageCage90 it should be 5 greens = 1 blue and 4 blues = 1 purple.
It's just the enriching green tonics has multiple blue tonics to branch to.
