I've always wondered why back in the days before run away inflation there were large denomination bills and now the biggest US bill is a one hundred. They should make a 100,000 bill just so someone can walk around feeling really rich again.

The officially stated reason for discontinuing large notes was "lack of use." But I reckon counterfeiting and illicit use played a large role in their demise.
