Being positive and loving to those around you who are not very lovable, lifts, a great burden off your shoulders, which helps your body to heal and have more energy . and the positivity is the key. You are right.
*Eat a healthy diet *Move, walk *Sleep it’s so important *Intermittent fasting *Manage stress, breathing *Positivity I will be focusing on the above. I use to drive a school bus, lots of sitting🚌 Thank you Margaret💕 PS you look lovely today!
I was used to eating out nearly every day in Sydney - high fat foods of course - But then I had to move to look after my 102 year old Mum who has gallbladder disease - So I lost 3 dress sizes by eating the same low fat diet as my Mum has to have for her gallbladder! My precious Mum did me a favour! Hope you're feeling better now Margaret.
Hi from Annie, nice to have you back on track with us all, it is one of the hardest things to do at times to put ourselves first and take care of ourselves. I am trying to live in the present moment and do something nice for myself each day, it is hard at first but gets easier
I actually started intermittent fasting late in 2021 - wow, has this given my energy a boost! I go to sleep around 10p.m., turning off tech before 8p.m. Then I usually get up and going with client projects early, especially in our very long and sticky summers - so, between 5 and 9a.m., I do almost an entire day's work. Breakfast is only around 10a.m. I have one other meal, kind of mid afternoon. While I am careful about what I eat, I find simply eating off a smaller plate makes the difference - I also need to factor in the extremely high cost of food here where I live, so certain foods are simply out of my budget range. But in spite of this, I have a sound and balanced nutrition. And you are SO right: being positive is most important!
Hi June. Funny that’s actually my pattern as well. I think just cutting back on high fat foods and spacing out your meals is a really good strategy. Stay healthy and strong!
I can't walk briskly or for any distance, Margaret. I have multiple spinal issues such as lumbar stenosis, arthritis..I won't give you the entire boring laundry list. But, it's a lot. I try to move as much as possible; I include supplements, and try to eat healthy "most" of the time. Sweets are my weakness; however, I try to allow myself a cheat day on the weekend. Doing the best I can, including with sleep. Stress is what does me in, but, I try to do something good every day. We have to be proactive where our health is concerned, especially if we're taking care of ourselves. It is a gift and a blessing. So glad you're feeling better; I appreciate all the great advice. Thank you, and wishing you the very best health going forward..we need you! Take care..hugs! Rosemarie 🩷
Thank you for this video. There’s always something we can work on even if we’re living a healthy lifestyle. For me, it’s deep and restorative breathing exercises. You look lovely in white by the way. You should wear it more often!
That white top looks beautiful on you. You are looking more and more healthy, Margaret. It’s so good when we keep growing no matter what the situation. We can never be reminded too much. Thank you. You seem more free. I’ve mastered most of the 6, I struggle every so many months with desserts. I am not able to eat just a little, I’ve worked on that area all my life. I’m fine if I don’t see it, but at holidays or anywhere that people have desserts, my eyes just want it. I won’t complain though, much of my success with these 6 was the way my family did things growing up. There are some things in our lives that won’t change from the time we were conditioned as children, positive or negative. Thanks for letting us know how you handle situations in your life, it helps.
Gained some weight. Decided to replace my sugary snacks with some cut up fresh produce with tiny dab of dressing. Limit junk food! Try to improve each day! Thanx, Margaret
Thank you for sharing that story. Yes I do think that processed and junk foods are real because of so many elements that we have. It is a good reminder. Take care of yourself and stay healthy.
It may seem like basic rules, but I really appreciate the reminder to focus on things that are in my control for well being. I've been fortunate to have pretty good health so far and I think that’s not something to take for granted. Things do seem to turn up as we age, sometimes taking us by surprise. Thank you for sharing your wisdom and your experiences, as always💖
A fun moto for eating i😊s eat like a king at breakfast , a queen at lunch , and a pulper at dinner.. Avoid drinking with meals and less chance of diluting the digestive enzymes following meals. Exposure to morning sun shine is so beneficial to our physical, mental, and spiritual Wellbeing Your message, Margaret, is important. Thank you. And better yet, most of your suggestions are free. Love you ladies ❤
Hi Cynthia. Thank you so much for your comment. It was a read about not drinking when you’re eating and I’ve been doing that myself and it has made a difference. I took a lot of water outside of meals, but during eating time just enjoy the food :-)
That colour looks great on you! All good advice. One thing that has helped me is buying fitness watch. No need to buy the expensive name brand ones. I have found that it reminds me to get up and move, it tracks how much I walk, it measures my heart rate, stress level, and sleep patterns, just to name a few. The other thing that has helped me change my lifestyle is watching nutritional doctors discussing the science behind food on youtube. Thank you Margaret for the great reminders!
Thank you so much for that comment. I think it’s a reminder that there are so many resources online for us to take advantage of. Hope that you’re well and stay safe and healthy.
Hi Margaret, you look really good, love the white top it is so feminine it really suits you!!!....I too had my gallbladder removed but many years ago! I am now 66 nearly 67 & had some gut health issues.....I have had to sort out foods I can eat foods I cannot...I love eating plant based & I love fruit, so I am concentrating on doing those foods now!!!..i should definitely walk more ..all the things you mentioned as you say we do all know, but, it can be a bit challenging sometimes!!! but it is never too late to change your habits...anyway great video, thank you Margaret.....from Margaret in Adelaide,South Australia!!!!!
Thank you for this! Excellent points! They are all super important. Lots of good science to back up all of your points- and changing to a predominantly plant based diet has had life changing results for so many people of all ages! Keep up your inspiring good work!
It is so easy to make soup from vegetables that is really satisfying and healthy. It is like a smoothie, but with vegetables., so it is savory. One I love to make at home is radish top soup.
I totally understand that comment. I think I was bordering on addicted to better :-) but now I scrape a little bit on a piece of bread and just enjoy that taste. I used to use way too much.
I am so glad that you are feeling better. I usually get up really early in the morning, because I just love it. The earlier the better (4 am). I try to get my main calories early in the day with a light dinner or snack. I have learned that i don't like going to bed with lots of food in my stomach. I have stopped eating candies or mints as they give me cankers. Our bodies sure can tell what we have to stay away from.
Sometimes I think it's good to make changes in and sometimes I think at the age of 74 myself that it's too late to do certain things. I am trying though to be and due a little more. I refuse to let this old body of mine beat me down. I had a whole bunch of those circle knitting hoops so I decided to sit down and start working on a warm or cold afternoon and relax into the I really don't have to be anywhere or do anything. I have decided to work on things that I want to to paint, things I want to and to interact with what I want to.
It is never too late to improve our health. You are not old we are living . Start with small things in diet and exercise and it will make you smile. Wishing you good health and sunshine 🌞
Good to hear you're finding creative things to do and beginning them. I love spending my alone time being creative, and always have. Now that I'm living alone I am excited for more time to do these creative pursuits. BE YOU 😀
At age 64, I had a ruptured appendix. As such an outlier for this, it took six hours for them to narrow it down and send me for a CAT scan. But the time they got me to surgery, I needed six inches of bowl removed. This was open stomach surgery. I WAS 64!!! I understand what are talking about.
Wow. That is a very dramatic story. Is it just goes to show how you must act as soon as you have any discomfort. I’m glad things worked out and I hope did you stay healthy
It’s amazing the gifts and ah ha moments we receive when something shakes us up. I love intermittent fasting 16/8 for me , at 73 it’s changing my body , I eat healthy whatever I want in moderation, at least 3-4 litres of water .. living loving my life in moderation:) Xx
Yes, I continue to see this whole experience as a wonderful gift. Thank you for your kind words. Hope you stay well, and that the intermittent fasting works for you.
Thank you so much Margaret for sharing. Although we might feel we know these rules / tips, a reminder such as this enables us to keep on track as we sometimes slip into old habits. I'm currently working on my intermittent fasting habits. Especially not letting work get in the way of having dinner on time. I love your videos.
Thank you so much for those kind words. I’m really glad that you found us. Check out the website and all the other channels. I’m so happy that you’re part of our community now thank you again for your kindness.
Margaret, I truly did not mean to hurt your feelings at all when I said you looked younger without your big necklaces. I didn’t mean you looked bad , I just felt in that video that you looked marvelous with even the background color and your lovely top was great on you . God bless
Hi Susan. Please don’t worry at all. I am not offended or upset at all. I loved the fact that you said what you thought was true, and I appreciate that. I’m not attached to my necklaces. As a sense of self-worth, they don’t make any difference to me at all. I just honestly like the color sometimes around my neck since I worth it plain T-shirts and tops but I really honestly I’m not upset in anyway. I love your wonderful honesty and Please don’t think about it anymore. OK :-) lots of love.
I have watched your videos for awhile now and enjoyed them. I really like the white top you have on today without a necklace. It shows off your glowing skin and draws attention to your lovely face.
Great reminders for us all! We may 'know' these things but sometimes we still forget them! I had my gallbladder out in my 20s, and now 30 years later I keep forgetting that I should watch what I eat a bit more to be kind to my liver!
Great comments Margaret. I follow all those rules except sleep. I really need to work on that one starting today. I'm very lucky that I have never had any serious health problems being 66 years old I practice yoga which is wonderful . Anybody with stress if they spend 10 to 15 mins a day practising Yin Yoga would be very beneficial. I still lift weights for my bones and walk regularly. I follow a vegetarian diet since I was 14. BUT, I need to listen to the comments about sleeping extra hours as I did in the past and turning of media sources in the early evening . Thank you Margaret and all the ladies commenting about sleeping and turning of the internet by 8 pm. I wish you all good health.
love this. I appreciate that you always say "no judgement" or "no lecture". That is one of the reasons I love learning from you. I am so happy that I found you in the internet. 👏🤟
Thank you so much for that very kind comment. I really do feel very positive about the future for all of us. From this journey together and thank you for being here.
I love your videos. Thank you for sharing so many wonderful things. I would have loved a quick summary at the end of this video just reiterating the 6 points very briefly.
Recover well M. 👍🏽 I’ve been off any processed food since my 30’s as much as I could, definitely now. I look at labels. Am eating more greens, yellows and orange veggies, Pescatarian. Am enjoying this way of eating, no meat. 😳 qigong movement and yes EF! I feel better..helps that I don’t work ☝🏽less stress 🥰🙏🏽🙋🏻♀️👍🏽Mia
I love your advice and I appreciate it very much! I need to cut out some things I know are bad for me (it’s hard) but I want to stay healthy. I need to eat less sugar (in my coffee every morning) and add more vegetables to my diet. I love your style, and actually missed your pretty necklace in this video!
Thank you so much for your very kind words. Yes when I wear a high neck top like that, I often don’t wear a necklace. In the summer to it they’re pretty hot :-) thank you so much for your kind words.
This was a great video being i think we're all going through something mine is my kidneys so eating healthy and plant based diet is very important, sometimes the diagnosis is very scary and dread my labs every three months, the good thing is im down 37pounds who would of thought 60 grams of protein is all that is needed for an adult. Thank you for sharing 🌹.
Hello Margaret, it’s wonderful to see you well again. I know you are absolutely right about these points, I try as best I can to get 7 hours sleep but unfortunately they are broken. Thank you for this good advice.❤️
Thank you for this educational video. Glad you’re recovering fast. Pineapple juice is good for cough. Also honey and apple cider vinegar mixed together or alone. Honey in coffee, tea, on cereal, and so many other foods is delicious and a good sugar replacement. The vinegar helps keep inflammation away. In use a teaspoon of vinegar in 8 ounces of water. If the cookies and snacks don’t come home with you they aren’t there to tempt you… lol. I stopped frying food in the early 1990’s. Eating as close to earth is easier than expected. As a child I remember one of my grandmothers walking inside her house for 20 minutes everyday on days she couldn’t get outside. She never took cholesterol / blood pressure medicine. Yes… living alone challenges is , especially during health issues. YES!!!… take the trip. As the casket closed last Friday on my healthy son in law’s casket the cute little convertible, a bag of money or any piece of recently purchased furniture was in there with him. I may-not have “ fancy” things but what I have makes me happy and serves me well. I enjoy this community where we can share our experiences and learn. Love you from Arkansas,USA ❤️
My diabetes helps me to intermittent fasting. I have to eat breakfast at 7 am, I eat supper by 4:30 pm. I don't eat anything between 5 pm and 7 am. What I've also found is that I'm losing weight a little at a time, so that's a real good side effect. I've found since getting my kitten that she doesn't allow me to nap either in the morning or afternoon. I miss that greatly. I'm much more tired than usual. Hopefully, as she grows, I'll be able to start napping again. Just happened to think of these 2 things as I listened to this video. Thanks for sharing, Margaret. Have a good day.
Wonderful advice and observations Judith. Thank you so much for your kind comments. We are all on this healthy, living journey together and it’s lovely to have your feedback. Take care.
Oh yeah Margaret very interesting life changing suggestions, sleep is very important, positivity , nutrition and movements, wonderful video, blessings to you❤❤❤
Your 6 basic rules are simple, easy and we can all do them! Thank you for your help navigating this time of growth and the challenges that we face! You're the best!
The secret is everything in moderation. Use olive oil, a lot! Cut out refined sugar altogether. Go easy on the bread, and only eat wholemeal bread. Good sleep is vital for health. And exercise. Dancing is amazing exercise.
Hi Dolores. Well you certainly outlet every single important point there. Thank you again for reminding us of the simple things that we can do to keep our bodies strong and healthy. Thank you for sharing.
I just found out that I have to get my gallbladder removed at 60 .. most of my extended family along with my mom and a sister also had theirs removed. It has really set off an alarm for me even though I’ve eaten pretty healthy all my life
Hi Christine. Yes, I don’t know how much genetics are involved, but I do know that even eating a very healthy diet digestive issues. I think cutting back particularly for me on butter going to make a difference. I just love it so much :-) take care of yourself please and stay healthy and strong.
Hello Margaret, that's a popular name in our family and thank you so much for the information I know it's true when it comes to eating salads since I haven't eaten them as I used to I'm beginning to get a gut again 😄 so thanks for the reminder.
You know it’s funny about salads. I also don’t like them very much :-) but I started buying ones that are pre-prepared with all the different ingredients. Expensive but I often have two meals from one salad, some tuna or cheese, or some other protein alongside it. I think it’s a good investment for me personally for you too. Stay healthy my friend.
So appreciate you and your youtube videos. It really helps to hear these reminders and know others are going through much of what I'm experiencing. May I put in a plug for naps. Sometimes we need a moment to rejuvenate. Why not if we can? On a totally different topic. As I'm writing this comment, unsolicited words are being printed out in light type to complete my thought. It is very distracting, totally unnecessary and I find it insulting. The programmed internet big brother attitude really bugs me. Sorry. I have a short fuse.
Do you have inspired me to try it again in my sincere way. I always found ways to sneak a little nibbles here and there. But at 70 people are talking about intermittent fasting and it seems to work for so many people. I think I will give it a try.
That’s a fascinating comment. No one else is ever mentioned that. I’ll have to think about it. I feel undressed when I don’t have the color around my neck. But I am sure you meant it in good heart and I’m always grateful for positive. Constructive feedback. Thank you.
Hi Margaret, so glad you are getting back to being yourself. Unfortunately, your eating advice is just plane wrong. I am so sorry that you have not done enough research of the best kind for understanding that what you are advocating (kale, smoothies) are all high in Oxalates, which can cause gall stones among other things. Butter is your friend as well as enough meat protein. You have fallen for a campaign that is taking us down the path to poor health. Intermittent fasting is great. No snacking. I imagine this will not be a popular post, but it is important. Keto is good (avoid all grains, sugar) better to be more carnivore. I'm also 74. I could go on and on here. I have a background in ancient nutrition, how we were designed to eat.
Thank you very much for your thoughtful comments. I honestly did not know what oxolates were so I had a look and found some interesting information. I will do some research. Interesting that you mentioned kale. I’ve read many times that it’s very good for you and has a high Content of nutritious elements. It is not on the list of foods that the articles I was just looking at mentioned for high oxolate . I’m trusting your judgment and will take note of your feedback. Thank you.
Being positive and loving to those around you who are not very lovable, lifts, a great burden off your shoulders, which helps your body to heal and have more energy . and the positivity is the key. You are right.
*Eat a healthy diet
*Move, walk
*Sleep it’s so important
*Intermittent fasting
*Manage stress, breathing
*Positivity
I will be focusing on the above. I use to drive a school bus, lots of sitting🚌
Thank you Margaret💕

Hi Libby that’s a lovely story!
We've been learning about studies that show gratitude will improve one's immune system too.
I love that.
Bless you dear Margaret
Everything you say is so true and real.
You are an inspiration for us all, my friend ❤😊
6:00 I love you and I love your necklaces as well. Greeting from Buenos Aires. You are the best!
I concur! 👏👏👏
I agree
Oh thank you!
Love the white top, also shorter hair length looks great on you, very pretty.
SLEEP. Remember, as a child a nap was viewed as punishment. As a senior citizen it is the ultimate reward! Nice video. Thanks!
Hi from Annie, nice to have you back on track with us all, it is one of the hardest things to do at times to put ourselves first and take care of ourselves. I am trying to live in the present moment and do something nice for myself each day, it is hard at first but gets easier
Thank you Annie for your support!!
Yes, I think living in the present is the best strategy for a living. Have a wonderful week.

I practice yoga which is wonderful .
You are always gorgeous! Love your necklaces, very stylish
Thank you so much!
THANKS FOR INFO. GREAT REMINDERS. LOVE THIS COLLAR LINE ON YOU. 💜
I have a mantra that I say to myself while walking: "stand up straight, don't slouch, breathe, don't walk too fast, walk slow, breathe....."
Thank you for that blessed video
I really appreciate this information. I’m going to work through all six of these.
You should wear whatever you love!
Hello Margaret , thank you, for this amazing video and healthy advice. 🙋🌹
Thank you.
Everything in moderation. 🩷
Wonderful video! Thank you!❤
Glad you enjoyed it!
Thank you. What a beautiful message and such a reminder. Truly value you in my community. Thank you so much.
You are so right
My diabetes helps me to intermittent fasting.
Take care.
Oh yeah Margaret very interesting life changing suggestions, sleep is very important, positivity , nutrition and movements, wonderful video, blessings to you❤❤❤
Wonderful feedback thanks so much
Your 6 basic rules are simple, easy and we can all do them!
Hi Margaret,
Great message!
You look so lovely in the white crew neck top this fine day😊!
Thanks 🙏
You always help Thanks give us things to think about. You take care 🥰❤️🥰❤️
I went thru the same surgery thanks for sharing
What did you recovering well and sending you my best for happy, healthy life
I just found out that I have to get my gallbladder removed at 60 .. most of my extended family along with my mom and a sister also had theirs removed.
Oh my goodness there is NO way you are 74 You looks SO MUCH YOUNGER
74??? You look great!
Ohhh hh!!! dear... Healthy😢
Thank you for your comments! Hang in there!
Intermittent fasting is great. I don't eat breakfast anymore I try to go about18 hours
Do you have inspired me to try it again in my sincere way. I always found ways to sneak a little nibbles here and there. But at 70 people are talking about intermittent fasting and it seems to work for so many people. I think I will give it a try.
When they do autopsies on older people most people have gallstones! Even thin people get them. Don’t feel like you did anything wrong.
I just wanted to let you know you look 10 years younger without the large necklace’s 😊
Sus. I agree entirely.
Just look 10 years younger in general!
Yes, they really are dated, are aren’t they? 👍
That’s a fascinating comment. No one else is ever mentioned that. I’ll have to think about it. I feel undressed when I don’t have the color around my neck. But I am sure you meant it in good heart and I’m always grateful for positive. Constructive feedback. Thank you.
You just wear whatever you like !! And thank you for this nice positive blog ✌️👍❤️
Do not drink alcohol.
Oops, you gotta stop consulting with medical people....
Thank you.
You look Splendid in white. All these points about healthy living are true as far as you can manage to follow them
After 80 its not always easy.😂
