It's humbling to come back into CAD years later and not understand the basics anymore. Thank you for this course, it really helped! Question--I'm running into problems with my move function, (it's selecting objects but not allowing me to move them), is there a way to fix that? My layer is unlocked, but I'm unsure what else I can check.

Scratch that, your video answered my question (after some more investigation and replays)!

I had a question, say I draw a square surface joining 4 lines which lies on the ZX plane i.e vertically. How do I fill in the square surface with a certain color? Using hatch I'm only able to solid fill regions on the UCS plane.
I'm pretty new to this, hope u'd help out brother.

So it depends if you're doing 3D or 2D. What can be used in 3D is you can apply a material to the 3D surface, while making sure the visual style you're using in AutoCAD allows "Materials and Textures" to be displayed.
For a 2D object, hatching a solid colour is the way to do what you described.
One thing you can try is to type in "UCS" into the command bar and go into the plane that you want to fill in (example, instead of doing a "top" view you want "right" view) press enter once you type UCS and then you'll see a bar show up, press the down arrow key on your keyboard and a few options will show up. Use the arrow key to highlight "view" and then press enter. This will change the coordinate system so that it matches up with your work plane. When you do this you should be able to hatch.
To switch back simply do the above, except instead of selecting "view" select "global" and press enter. This will bring you back to the normal grid positioning.
      Hope this helps!

@@VerweyDraftingInc thanks a lot brother. All of these worked out. I used both the materials method and UCS. Thanks again & good luck man!!!
