3 Day Backpacking trip | Historic Downs Link Path | Testing New Gear

In this video, I backpack and camp the 37.5 mile Downs Link path from the North Downs Way in Surrey to the South Downs way in Sussex near the coastal town of Shoreham-by-Sea.
The Downs Link path is an historic trail that follows the route of and old disused 1860's railway line. It was known as the 100 year railway, due to it lasting for 100 years.
This was before it was closed along with 4,000 miles of other railway track across the UK following Lord Beaching's infamous report The trail was opened in 1984 by a joint venture between the two counties and is now enjoyed thousands of people all year round.
The path is very accessible and there are lots of places to jump on and off along the route. Its open to hikers, dog walkers, runners, cyclists and horse riders and families on a summer’s day out, is very much a shared space for all.
