I once had a yemeni professor who taught commercial banking, if you dont pay attention you can swear that you are hearing him speaking in arabic instead of english. Fortunately he is kind and help all student who came to his office, but the lectures are really2 hard to understand due to his thick accent

I enrolled in marine mechanics school after an impressive orientation that showed all their new high tech equipment. Skip to first day & the teacher is 80 years old. He moves & talks like he's 190 & starts talking about how he specializes in the much older engines/drives that haven't been made in decades & spends the first 2 weeks teaching us about these in some shitty worksheets he's personally drawn. First day of the 3rd week as we're standing next to the brand new outboards & I'm excited that we're about to get into the good stuff & he disappears on a forklift only to come back with one of the old engines from his personal collection to rebuild. I walked out & went straight to the administration to let them know I didn't sign up for father time to teach me how to chisel a wheel from stone.

6:56 I had a course like that and it was by a prof whom I'd been taught by before, which was surprising because he was an Excellent prof and a good lecturer.
But he wasn't wrong. It is hard to grasp what happens when you try to grasp the concept of "meaning after you remove the idea of using any form of language to explain it". Class was such a mindfrick, sometimes he had to remind his students class was over and we had to leave because we'd all dissociate the whole time, trying to understand the nuance of the idea of meaning...and if meaning can mean anything and if it can't, why do we even try to communicate at all?
It was absolutely one of the hardest and worst classes of my life. But I respect the hell out of that prof for being like "I'm sorry but lots of you aren't going to be able to do this, and really, that might be a positive."
