I really appreciate you passing on your knowledge and skills. I've been at this leatherworking business for less than a year, but from what I've taken from your videos in the last few months my work has become impressive to those around me and im now taking in more orders than I can keep up with.
I've applied what you've shown to archery quivers, tool bags, biker style vests and of course belts, suspenders and sheaths.
I proudly wear and use what I've made from watching your videos and that has become the best advertisement I could hope for without needing websites and social media.
Im not copying your work but im applying core elements you've taught and im sure this is what sets me apart from the others near me in Australia.
There is really only 3 leatherworkers on UA-cam I truly admire and learn from but I consider myself some sort of apprentice to you.
I just want to say thanks mate. Without your videos I wouldn't have the confidence to be branching out so soon and successfully.

Well my friend Sloth-e Your kind words are appreciated more than you know and this is the exact reason I’ve decided to throw my hat into the ring. Made all the efforts worthwhile 🙌 I’m so glad your business is taking off, but the accolades you’re receiving is from your attention to detail in your leather goods You can use any and all of this using your personal tweaks to develop your own style. Thank you again

I've watched at least 50 sheath making videos; some very good and others not so much. I'm saving this one. I make an ok sheath now, but what I learned here will definitely up my game. Your experience, skills and techniques will be invaluable to me as I continue my leather work. Thank you very much Viktor!

Excellent example of how to make carrying a fixed blade more comfortable! I learned this many years ago when I was at an Ashokan Seminar from Rob Hudson a really great knife maker and sheath maker who has since passed away. My 'method' differs from yours only a little bit, I glue the ends of the belt loop and when I rivet it to the sheath I go directly to the sheath and not having that additional piece which you show, which I think is a very good method that you present. For the hole inside the sheath I also dimple in around the hole but I use a small ball peen hammer putting the peen in directly over the hole and using my mallet to hammer down the leather to create the dished out area for the head of the rivet to sink down into. That way the rivet head is lower into the leather and the knife passes above it, but your way is definitely a safer method. I put some mink oil paste into the holes of the leather and on the rivet shaft so the belt loop swivels smoother. I've shared your channel on BladeForums as I feel your videos are very down to earth and a lot of up and coming makers will be inspired by your tips and tricks to help them get over the learning curve smoothly. Thanks again for sharing your ideas and work.

I bought several different knifes off of Amazon, so I could make different styles of sheaths to use as "show pieces" or salesman samples like you said about the belts !! Excellent video! I like the concept of the swivel sheath; it has the mobility of a dangler but the knife isn't always swinging around wacking you in the leg. Of course, I haven't actually used a dangler type of sheath. Lol

Thank you John!!! I have bought these decades ago and they never break. I use 1/0 and 2/0 sizes. Not sure of the gauge, but if you use 1.0 size braided thread and if the thread just fits in the egg eye it’s the correct size. Can’t wait to see your creations

Very nice! Thank you for the period of instruction! I’ve learned a lot from your videos. I followed your steps in volume 2 (with a little artistic freedom 😉) for a Damascus steel camp knife that I’d made. I have a UA-cam short of the knife and the sheath is in the background.
I was wondering if you’ve ever done a seax knife sheath before. The point end of the sheath looks like it’s forced over, and I’d sure like to see how that’s done by someone who clearly knows what they’re doing! Thanks again and I look forward to your next lesson!

Great video Man.great job. Would like to see how to dye the leather if you get a chance or time. Thanks. The sheath came out great. God bless. From Glenn CATT in Massachusetts. I use leather colors from fiebings it's water base. I let it dry. Then I use neatsfoot oil to seal it in. So is this good to do thanks.
