13:08 - As a professional herpetologist, I appreciate that Christina mentioned that the coral snake "rhyme" has problems. The difficulty of remembering it correctly is only one of those problems, though (there are also a bunch of different variations to the point that I'd never even heard her version with "Fred"). There are some species of venomous coral snake that don't fit the "rules" of the rhyme and may be picked up by someone who mistakenly thinks they're harmless, while on the flip side of that same coin, some harmless snakes similarly don't fit the rhyme and may end up needlessly harmed by someone who mistakenly thinks that they're dangerous. What I like to tell people is, "If you need a rhyme, it ain't worth the time." Just leave snakes be and admire from a respectful distance. :)
I always advocate for learning to identify snakes in your area. Always. Too many people kill snakes without reason, other than that they can't identify it so they don't want to risk anything. Snakes are really important for the ecosystem and killing every snake you see on your property means your yard will be overrun by pests that cause far more problems than snakes ever will. I once caught a snake to take photos and identify it (Even though I didn't know what it was, I knew it wasn't the one dangerous snake we have here) and someone said it was a cottonmouth, all because it was a water snake with a pale coloration in the mouth. It was literally just a brown water snake. We need better education on snakes! Someone could have needlessly killed this thing because they assumed the pale mouth is exclusive to the cottonmouth (which is also a harmless snake when you leave it alone.)
@@StormyTalksFor real! Just do a little research! I love herps and seeing people kill snakes for no reason is infuriating. I don't have an every day phobia of snakes but sometimes I get unnerved seeing them. However, Lilo is an ADORABLE snake. I immediately thought "Cute!" when I saw her little face the spider however made me feel so scared as if I was about to have to hold it

Thank you!
Fortunately she doesn't do a lot of moving around.
@StacyBSillyUA-cam user StacyBSilly has singlehandedly solved arachnophobia. good job StacyBSilly!
Hiding in the comments from the big spider
oh my god that last snake is adorable. She doesn't even have a drop of danger in her face, she looks like a cuddly toy, but she could squeeze the life from you.
4:40 dan posing like an illustrative painting.
As someone who has taught these kind of Animal Education classes for more of my adult life, I'm incredibly proud of how these two faced some of the creepy crawlies! A lot of the spiders/snakes get a bad reputation because of our lack of experience with them! You only become more comfortable the more you learn about them! This warmed my Animal Educator Heart! Well done 💖
I remember seeing Christina on an episode of Good Mythical Morning years ago. I’m glad to see that she’s still showing animals to silly men on the internet.
BRO I KNEW SHE LOOKED FAMILIAR OMG
Got the episode?
@@zzskyninjazz1821 It’s “Trapped in a Snake Tank Pt. 2: 6ft Boa Constrictor”
whoever does the captions deserves a raise and i love how by the end dan and arin always make whoever is helping so comfortable and really have a good time.
The hell stallion neigh caption had me spit out my drink 😂
fr they did all those sports ball references. the dedication!!!
what got me was *Arin gasps of childlike wonder* after he gets shit on lmao@@LifesNeverHumDrum
Christina is soooo wholesome, talented, and really embraces her job. She truly elevated this episode.
I hope you tipped them really well. Specifically Lilo, she deserves like 12 mice or whatever she gets paid in
5:39 "Curly's a hell stallion" Maybe that would be happening if Critter Christina was also a Critical Role fan (flaming hell horses are called Nightmares in D&D) 🐎🔥
ARE WE GETTING AN EPISODE OF LIL GUYS??????
We did
Good job, Dan! I know a lot of people have arachnophobia, so opting for actually holding a spider is very strongly done!
I wouldn't even consider myself an arachnophobe, but thinking about actually holding a big ol tarantula makes my stomach feel a lil bubbly...
Dan's epic for that
I love how Christina is clearly using the children's speech and I know that's because it's probably the only speech but I choose to believe there are two and she used the children's one anyway
Eclipse being scared of Dans hair is so funny, hes such a goober.
Eclipse and Phoenix are so stinkin' cute, but I am in love with Curly. Ach, I adore pigeons so dang much, and Curly is so darn adorable.
I absolutely LOVE people like Christina. Best episode of 10MPH right here
I don't think I've ever seen Arin THIS joyful
He was pretty ecstatic over the melon cutter
i just know they’ve been begging for this since they went to the zoo
"rojo is fr..ench.. for snake" made me spit water
I love that the tortoise was named 405 because it's a slow moving animal, much like the 405 in LA
Arin's immediate and visible joy over Gumby the frog made me smile
My favorite genre of the power hour: the pros use gentle parenting and the boys are totally into it
FROM THE BEGINNING I HEARD CHATTER FROM SUNNYS AND I FUCKIN KNEW SHE HAD SUNNYS AAA IM SO HAPPYY
Even without her saying that Phoenix was a chatty one, you’d know it as soon as she ID’d him as a Sunny 😂
15:12 When she brought Lilo out, my brain immediately went to...
"I bought a pet python. He's big, and he's huge, and he's my very best friend in the world.
I leave his cage open 'cause we use the honor system, and I know he'll never get out."
I did a project of a python in 2nd grade and I memorized that name ever since
I love that you can see the dissociation in dan's eyes when the tarantula is on his head
The Milk/Coral snake rhyme i grew up with was “Red touched black, you’re ok Jack, red touches yellow, you’re a dead fellow”
I always preferred "red touch black, Friend of Jack. Red touch yellow, kill a fellow."
Finally, Arin meets someone who can poop on camera and have it be societally accepted.
“I make educational content for children AND adults” thanks for clearing that up for us, Christina 😂
The 20-foot Burmese Python didn't want to show as to not upstage the other critters when yoinked. What a nice 20-foot python.
so this is where he's been hiding
Curly getting yoinked was a highlight though, Christina has clearly studied the Art.
12:50 - I always heard it as, "Red and black - friend of Jack. Red and yellow - kill a fellow." But the same message is conveyed, so sh'whatevs.
As a breeder of boa constrictors, seeing the grumps interact with one made my day. Boas are my joy ❤
First thing I hear is "You got a poop!"
Just another Ten Minute Power Hour at the office.
These animals are adorable! The little things they were playing with were cool, too.
7:00 Curly is a Pistachio Cream Cold Brew Latte coffee
Seeing that gecko is the most tempted I've ever been to pay for the patreon
I don't have an every day phobia of snakes but sometimes I get unnerved seeing them. However, Lilo is an ADORABLE snake. I immediately thought "Cute!" when I saw her little face
the spider however made me feel so scared as if I was about to have to hold it
Boas and pythons are pretty... but I like the milk snake :3
I always genuinely enjoy zoologists/animal workers/keepers, because their absolute patience for observers and love/respect for their creatures is so contagious, enlightening, and enjoyable!
I like how the animal handler is taking to Dan and Arin like their fourth graders
Dan, you're braver than I with that spider, man. I woulda freaked the fuck out
arin’s excitement of gumby is so cute
AS A FROGGY AESTHETICS GIRLY I AM OBSESSED WITH THE FACT THAT ARIN RELATES TO GUMBY!!!
Arin you're so foggy coded ❤️ I love u
