- We are back on the road after spending an incredible month in India and making our way home for the holidays. We now have one of our longest travel days we have ever done with a baby and a toddler - as we fly from Perth all the way to the Cook Islands, crossing 21 timezones.

Hi, we are Stephen, Jess and little Hunter, a traveling family who spent 2020 self-converting a van before moving in full-time to drive around our home country of Australia. We have now completed our lap, said our goodbyes, and resumed full-time travel before we wait for our second baby to arrive.

Never heard of this place Rarotonga, . so I thought until I read where it was 'Cook Islands' then it was oh I have heard of 'Cook Islands' in a long and distant past, ha ha. Jess and Steven you sure find the most outlying areas and exotic places. Have always wondered about Cook Island, thanks for taking us on this trip. I am going to thoroughly enjoy this series. When I planned my two month trip to Australia and New Zealand, I spent a lot of time debating rather to end the trip with bora bora or Tahiti. But ultimately decided on Cook Islands instead and had zero regrets! Such a beautiful local and cultural experience on an island paradise. And only cost me a 1/3 of a different island. Sooooo glad you guys got to enjoy the beauty of Cook Islands!
I'm planning a trip around the world and I was a bit hesitant about faraway, remote and exotic destinations with a toddler. (2 years) But after seeing all your vlogs, with a baby and toddler!!, you have inspired me to take on all the challenges! You two are champs. The amount of luggage you are traveling with is perfect!! I love Hunter and her comical humor!! This trip very much reminded me of my time in Tahiti!! My dear friends have wanted me to come back and visit and I would love to share my " family" there with you guys one day. We have 2 littles around the same age as you!! In terms of strollers/pranks we really LOVE the Graco ready2grow because it can have 2 seats (and fold with 2 seats) OR you can remove the 2nd seat and there’s a little standing platform or a little bench seat which has been fantastic for day trips with our 3 year old! Not sure if you can get that where your located but it could make one less travel bag 😂

@@flyingthenestI've been traveling to different countries for the last few years. Pre-Pandemic I vacationed in Belgrade, Serbia. Post-pandemic, I travelled to Switzerland and Dubai (2022), and in 2023 I took 4 Amtrak trains cross-country from Florida to California. Spent Christmas 2023 in Prague, Czechia. Amazing.
I definitely thing Switzerland was off the charts stunning in August. I wasn't expecting it to be so green but it was.

This is SO cool! I seriously need to ask though... Do your kids ever have meltdowns/tantrums? They are such troopers! I don't know if you've ever heard about Reunion Island (next to Mauritius and Madagascar), but I believe you would LOVE this island. Been living there for a year and definitely missing it now, probably one of the most incredible destinations I've ever been to! 🌴☀

@flyingthenest My husband and I will be taking our 22month old to Europe in May. We are going to Budapest and Iceland. Packing is certainly going to be a challenge. I was wondering the name of the black backpack you are wearing Jess as you entered the plane? Looks like it can fit quite a bit.
ahhh honestly that backpack is more for camera gear - hard to recommend for standard use!
