By what could you substitute the Thai brocoli please?
I followed your recipe, and it tastes so good. The smell is amazing.
Love your content, so much. Would you marry me? 😁. Keep being awesome Pai.
@@karimaguetarni5013 just use any "leaf- vegetables". Sorry for my bad English :). Personally, i usually use spinach for this delicious recipe :)
Best Thai cooking videos on UA-cam...hands down...
+J.C. Leacock Thank you!
J.C. Leacock i would agree :-)

J.C. Leacock no, you're such a naive person, to think that the best Thai cooking videos come from a girl like her, no offense btw. Now let me correct you, the best Thai cooking video's come straight out of THAILAND, you can look up foodtravel.tv on UA-cam (that's what it's called) for instance.
I was referring to production quality and after looking at the videos you referenced, I stand by my comments...
What I love about Pai's programmes are that she gives you little tricks that make cooking easier (like processed meats don't stick to wet hands) or (wash out pots with cold water or the meat cooks and sticks on the utensils) hahahaha. But then she always pays attention to the texture of the food with little tricks too ......Her authentic tasty recipes are a real treat and even a person who cant cook like me can make tasty food that edible !!!!......Great work Pai. Your enthusiasm is addictive !
I agree that her instructions are always clear and each time I won’t wrong!
I make Tom Yum Noodles! I use tom yum paste to braise chicken, then add shallots, veggies, and soaked cellophane noodles. Topped with cilantro and lime. Probably not traditional Thai (I'm Chinese), but I just love the flavors.
eating tomyum fried rice in bangkok while watching this video surely GREATTTTTTTT
I can't help but smile every time I watch you cook. infectious energy and BTW, I started cooking proper Thai food because of this channel. I will be forever grateful. Thank you! and btw, I think I make better Thai food than the Thai restos back in the Philippines. And a big thanks to you. :) keep it up. :)
A fried or poached egg works so well with fried rice dishes. I especially love it with pork belly. A spoonful of fried vegetable rice with braised pork belly and a little egg with a semi runny yolk is the most delicious thing you can put in your mouth I reckon.
Hello! Tom yum Goong or Tom yum fried rice are some of my favorite Thai Dishes. Unfortunately, i am running out of stock my favorite Chua Hah Seng Chilli Paste since travel ban cant buy them in Bangkok. I made this with little deviation of extracting flavour from shrimp head to make it tastier
Ty for your videos. Much love from 🇵🇭
I've made a lot of Thai dishes in the past, however, I never would have thought to combine the two recipes together (Tom yum + fried rice) ! Thanks Pailin for providing the inspiration and know-how for your viewers to replicate this recipe! :D
My family and I love Thai food, we used to sail in Phuket and ofcourse Thai Food overload for us. Thanks for your video.
I am currently in love with Thai food. There is this really good Thai restaurant in my area. I tried out their Pineapple Fried Rice, Basil Fried Rice, Wild Pork, Pad Thai, ... I fell in love with Thai food!
You know, I grew up in Vietnam so all of the flavor of Thai food is really familiar with me.
I start to learn cooking Thai food because of you!
You're so nice, and your videos are really easy to follow!
+Vanessa Huynh Aw, thank you :)
Try pad see ew
Vietnamese food is good too but Thai is still better, more complexity in flavors
+Blair Waldorf I beg to differ. Thai and Vietnamese cuisines essentially use the same ingredients but employ different methods of cooking. Judging from your saying Vietnamese cuisine has less complexity in flavors, it is evident that you have not experienced authentic Vietnamese cuisine which vary vastly from North to South, geographically. I happen to be an enthusiast of traditional Vietnamese cooking and let me tell ya, ditch your neighborhood Viet restaurant and buy a ticket to Saigon instead, the ingenuity of how the Viets marry the flavors will blow your mind away.
Of course, this is by no means taking away the brilliance of Thai cooking.
Lewis Julien Why would you question an asian her perspective on asian food, we never fail to be correct about our own foods.
3:47 - FYI, serious eats tested various ways of preparing rice for fried rice and the fastest way is to cook it (1:1 ratio of rice and water) then after it's cooked, lay it out on a baking tray and direct a table fan over it for 2 hours, flipping it every 30 minutes.

First time had this food in Hua hin yam yam, you are a good chef thanks for all nice videos
Wow, the most beautiful shrimp with vegetables and eggsI wait to see yo
In Indonesia we called this Nasi Goreng. A very popular dish for every occasion.
Good straight forward guidance, very experienced practical chef.. 💐
Tom yum fried rice! Whaaaat??? Wow!! That looks soo delicious. . .
Best Thai cooking channel. Love how you respect the ingredients and do justice to Thai cuisine, by giving additional info that would have been excluded in a recipe book. Camera likes you too, so best of luck with your channel.
Your recipes are amazing! I am trying many of those.. but the only hitch is that I don't get few stuffs here. I am getting to substitute few of them. It still works. Thanks A lot for the recipes and the beautiful chit chatting that u do with the viewers ! Love you.
I've only been able to find fresh galangal a couple of times, however I have been able to find jars of pickled galangal at pretty much every Asian market I've visited. Seems to work just fine if you can't find the fresh stuff.
Infin1ty you can buy it dried too
Tried it. The tom yum paste is versatile.
Love Tom Yam from Malaysia. Tom Yam is very popular in restaurants in Malaysia.
Hey Pailin
Is it okay to keep the fried rice paste inside the refrigerator for about 1 day ?
It is so mouth watering 🤤🤤
I am Thai and so proud of you, Khun Pailin. Just subscribed and will continue supporting :D
hi Pailin ....I tried ur Tom Yum fried rice Tde....it tasted fantastic! I added Tom Yum cubes which my mom bought from Bali, and used Indian ginger, but it all turned out really nycc
Just made this with my sister and it was soooooooo good. We didn't have chinese broccoli so we substituted it with some green beans we had in the fridge, and it was still really good :D

Hey Pailin!
CNN voted Massaman Curry as the no. 1 most delicious meal in the world! I have seen so many variants of Massaman Curry on UA-cam, (one guy just roasted grated coconut untill its really dark and then pounded it to a black oily paste in the mortar and added it to the dish). I would love to see a remake of your old Massaman Curry video u made in the past.
I love your videos! Keep rolli'n baby, greets from Germany
varakom1
thats why i said REmake ;-)

There is an Asian grocery store in the New Orleans area that has fresh everything! Triangle, lemon grass, turmeric root, bitter melon.........etc, etc, including live tilapia and Dungeness crab! Spent so much money and had so much fun! Hobby, they had all the fish sauces you recommended too.
I meant galangle
I made this for dinner tonight. I couldn't help myself, I had a second helping! With the runny fried egg of course. 🤤 I will definitely make this again. So good!
You found galangal ??????
@@classicpotato3352 yes I found galangal. I have a fabulous Asian market near by.
Pai, you are awesome. You videos instructions are clear, simple, funny and cheerful. Also you are gorgeous and have a great personality. Thanks for doing your videos. I have been a subscriber for a long time now and this is the first time posting a comment.

Not bad! I cooked this using some seafood mix I had in my freezer sitting for way too long. First time cooked Tom yum fried rice and it was good!
Im already inlove with ThaiFoods before i discoverEd PailinsCooking In English and im Thankful for that.
Hi Pailin, I was wondering if there are other uses for the Tom yum paste besides the Tom yum fried rice
Omg I think I could eat that entire plate in 3 minutes. Looks so delicious!
Looks so good. I’ll be trying this one. I think I might grate the lemongrass and the galangal (assuming I can find it at the Asian food store!)
Yummy! Tom Yum, fried rice, and a fried egg! The perfect combination! I can't wait to try out the recipe.
I Looove Tom Yum. But I’ve been buying it as stock cubes, so thanks for showing how to do it from scratch :)
It feels great to binge watch old hot thai kitchen videos! One interesting thing I noticed is that the way chinese broccoli is pronounce in thai is the same as that in vietnamese, which is "cải làn" =))
Actually it's not. Ms. Pai just called it in Chinese name. Thai called it Kana (คะน้า), not Cai Lan.
You’re the best!
always love your in-depth tutorials Palin!
can we use the tom yum paste that comes in a jar? i always see it in asian supermarkets...it's really hard for me to find those ingredients...thnx 4 ur support
A big thanks ..! I tried this last evening.. and it turned out to be the best Tom yum rice i ever... So I searched u on UA-cam just to give the feedback... perfect recipe.. a big hug...

Non spicy but sour and savoury Tom Yam is actually very therapeutic. Btw Never Ever skip the galangal. Galangal is Life!!!
Bonjour, Hello and another beautiful recipe that I would love to make 🥰🙏🏻 your recipe is for how many people? Thank you 🙏🏻
"OMG! This looks so GOOOOOOD!" You sounded just like a little Aussie lady name Liz Kreate who I also watch on UA-cam. If you watch her videos when she is getting excited about whatever she's doing at the time you will see how you sounded just like her :)

A friend made Tom Yum Pasta and it was soo good.
Perfect, this recipe is absolutely perfect Pai.... thanks :-)
i dont know if it is right or not
but since i live in indonesia
Galangal , lemongrass,& birdeye chili paste should be cooked first with a little bit of oil first to remove the raw/stinging aroma of it? we call it bau Langu , its when kind of our White , Yellow , Red paste ( 3 basic indonesian cooking paste , its made of variety of herbs nutmeg, shallots , garlic ,chili, ginger , galangal, coriander, tumering, red chilli ) isnt cooked well before keep or used. it has an unpleasant raw aroma. it happen for my friedrice basic paste (garlic shallot leek dried shrimp ) if it isnt fried for 15-30mins before keep or use , it will give u an unpleasant smell. and it will not last long in the container/fridge.
