- This Walther PPK is marked with a "U". Has anyone out there seen another? The meaning is lost to history, but could have been a factory training pistol for workers to practice on.

Training example. Great piece for a Walther collection!
Those were made for the Croatia in ww2. The party that was running the county was called Ustase.
I have a "U" marked cz 27 in excellent shape!
There are P38 slides produced by FN, these are also marked "U". But not in 1940. Just wanted to mention that.
And if the Germans would mark a gun for Practice, or Übung it would be "Ü". They did the P08's also marked "Kü". Therefore it would be an "Ü".
That makes sense, that those "u" marked were used for training.
I think, your a great guy & keep posting new content.
Your channel is fantastic. Thank you !
Übung not Ubung
Our keyboard does not have the Umlaut
@@thomaswhiteman4261iPhones do if you press and hold down U
@@xCARBOMBxI just learned something new and I'm the geek that always read the manual from cover to cover. Thanks.
@@thomaswhiteman4261the umlaut is a replacement for the letter “e”.
Highly doubt that, because it is Übung with an Ü. Different letter, so…
Take note of the stick eagle under the U on the frame and possibly also under the U on the slide.
My understandung is "practice."
The Germans where notorious for marking every part. I would bet their is a listing somewhere, probably thru Walther that can give you exact meaning of the "U"
No idea, the first thing that popped into my head was Hungary, or Ungarn in German, which was allied to Germany.
Makes sense
Looks like the U stamp is damaged
VEEEERY INTERESTING . . .❗️
Looks like the U is special - the bottom right-hand part of the besd is identically missing on both stamp imprints shown, so no accident of being careless. Almost like LI...
it's very unlikely, but the only thing that comes to my mind with this U, is the Croatian Ustaše
Any chance the Kreigsmarine visor you wore in the video is for sale?
"as they brought in polish workers..." eh....
Get me a hat like that- PP HEAD! I LOVE YOUR POSTS, BUT NOT INTO YOUR GUNS THAT MUCH- BLACK POWDER IS IT 4 ME!!
