I like both! It feels cinematic when you have the cliffhangers in the beginning, and they're usually just that, cliff hangers never really spoiled anything
Can confirm, I much prefer the typical “welcome” intro vs the B&W showing gameplay from later on.

Just a quick double tap to skip that part, it's what I usually do.
Spoil what, first off? Secondly bruh skip it then it’s not that hard. Literally shows him tucking and fighting. Which is in every video all the time and he could literally die right after the clip ends. Nothing is spoiled.
Yeah it's a bit unnecessary but you can just skip it so all good

I'm about to teach 2 new players, me only at Athena's 30, no distinction, and imma have to teach them on a brig with little to no experience with it myself because they want to play together. Anyone got tips? 😅 I'm thinking about checking out safer seas or running tall tales with them as it would be a first for me as well
I think it depends on the players. You might spend more time on safer seas than I would with adults. If they are adults and played any fps they should quickly pick up the basics of standard combat with a quick explanation of sword lunging and running. Maybe drop a quick gold holders voyage to give you a destination and get one to go helm and the other to help trim sails then swap for the next one. Then maybe do a skele fleet to show naval combat. After that play as you intend to continue but on the high seas.

You can choose to hide the names of other players incase they have nono gamerwords in their name
a skeleton curse, who can actually aim, but still plays on an alliance server, yikes, you hate to see it
