I am so sad to hear the news of Neal's passing. He was a wonderful musician and a gentle soul. May he Rest In Peace. This video was from a magical night at Terrapin Crossroads in 2013. It was Jerry's Birthday Bash and at the end of the show Phil told the crowd to meet at the fire pit. We crowded around and then the musician's filed in. It is my fondest memory from all the many shows I have seen at TXR. I'm pictured on the left holding the lyrics. After the song was over I so wanted to keep the lyrics but Neal grabbed the sheet and tossed it into the flames. It all makes sense to me today. Everything is temporary in this world. Each day is a blessing, don't take anything for granted and love your brothers and sisters. Peace

Once again I'm a grown man in tears. Sometimes the power of music is just too much to wield. Ironically, this was also the last song I ever saw Jerry Garcia perform @ Shoreline in 1995.
There isnt one day without missing Neal after discovered CRB, then Hazy Malaze, then CATS, losing this dudes still heartbreaking. But what a musical legacy he left. Love Neal eternally
This video is such a perfect way to remember Neal, surrounded by love , doing what he did best. I can’t think of a more perfect song for him to be playing either. Ironic how this resonates even so much more today w/his passing. Such a good dude. Much love Neal

You were so kind to me and my son, and I will always love you for it. I wish that I was in a place to offer you comfort when you needed it. I feel so much guilt - you gave my family so much joy, took nothing, and suffered in silence. You are truly love in human form. Rest easy brother.
