Belly Conklin is about to turn 16, and she’s headed to her favorite place in the world, Cousins Beach, to spend the summer with her family and the Fishers. Belly’s grown up a lot over the past year, and she has a feeling that this summer is going to be different than all the summers before. The Summer I Turned Pretty is based on the book by Jenny Han, who is creator and executive producer.

Belly used to count down the days until she could return to Cousins Beach, but with Conrad and Jeremiah fighting over her heart and the return of Susannah's cancer, she's not sure summer will ever be the same. So for season 3... Okayyy so i haven't read any of the books but i have watched a lot of dramas and shows involving love triangles, so according to my experience- Conrad and Belly will be end game! (& disclaimer- I'm not biased towards any ship like my ships literally change in every single episode)
C'mon its so obvious. These 3 are the main leads and both Con and Jere's lives are supposed to revolve around Belly like isn't that obvious?? that's what the show's all about. They can't just add a new character for Belly to end up with, and i'm sure they won't give Jere and Belly a healthy relationship for the whole of season 3 and just play around with Conrad on the side? Haha no way. That's too basic.
There's gonna be dramaaaa next season!!! Slim chances about this but Jere's probably gonna cheat (i hope not lol). Both of them will be studying at Finch and that's when things will change, Belly will start finding new friends and start hanging with other people making Jere that annoying insecure boyfriend leading to problems in their relationship. Or maybe that's too cliche??
Also, the foreshadowing about Belly & Conrad being endgame was STRONG in season 2. When Susannah specifically asked Belly to take care of Conrad, yeah that's when i knew something was fishy in the plot.
I think the infinity necklace Conrad gave to Belly will cause some problems with her and Jere, or maybe Belly's promise to Susannah will? idk. Plus, Susannah- the boys' own mother was Conrad-Belly's biggest supporter, like she WANTED THEM to be together and she wasn't even trying to hide that. Conrad is the bigger brother, he's been through a lot and him going to Stanford and wanting to be a doctor and all that just proves that there will be major character development for him, he will change his ways, he will become more mature and when Jeremiah's playing around, Conrad's gonna step up.
Tbh, i personally want the show to turn out differently, I think Con & Jere deserve someone better than Belly. The whole time when Belly was "supposed to be" into Jeremiah, she thought a lotttt about her feelings for Conrad, & i feel like that doesn't stand right by Jeremiah.. yeah? And Conrad also deserves to find someone who chooses him and will be there for him through all his sad & happy days. Someone who understands him and his feelings and is not like Belly who wasn't patient with him when he was going through a rough patch in his life, she only thought about herself, she always thinks that the boys are fighting over her when actual siblings have literally million things to fight over! narcissistic much?? i don't blame her, girlie was young and dumb plus hey! she realized her shortcomings by herself which is commendable.
Also is it just me but the thought of Belly going back to Conrad after their whole confessions and closures is kinda weird?? Considering the fact him & Jeremiah are brothers??? That would be just awkward in the future? Both bros just juggling around one girl?? Ehhh yeah NO.
I would love to see the romance centric story change into a brotherhood one, imagine both brothers moving on from Belly, and belly too. Both Jere and Conrad realizing how much distant they've gotten from each other and start building back their relationship and brotherhood? This is probably never gonna happen but it'd be cute LOL.
Well i guess i gotta wait till next year to find out!!!
Haha loved your comment like my thoughts exactly. Here some thoughts from my side:
I think they might be changing the way/the downfall of Jeres and Bellly relationship. Like you already said perfectly, they are gonna go out their and they rushed into this relationship without any reaseonable thought. This is the first hint it won't work. They will have a complete different life at Finch just like you said. New ppl, new friends, new hobbies and new perspectives on life and what they actually want.
I think they might hang on to the story Jere being a frat brother. He will want to expercience life to the fullest, being the fun open minded guy he is. Belly will do that too, but whe always wants to stay true to her old relationships as well. They are going to grow apart at some point at will want different things from life. Also I do believe they won't make Jere and Belly go all the way physically speaking. Deep down, her night with Conrad will mean too much and she won't feel ready for quite some time. Also Jere has yet to find out abt Conrad and Bellys night together, which will lead to more stress. Conrad will be endgame it's so clear already, so it would also be really weird to have her sleep with both brothers imo. Just don't see that happening. There will be others after their break up I guess, just now with Jere.
Conrad will be gone for a while, so this will make it easier for Jere and Belly. But as soon he returs, Bellys feelings for him will come back. As you said, he will go through MAJOR character development next season, just like in the books. He will grow and become the person Belly fell for in the first place. She won't be able to bury those feeling wich him being around. I like Jeres character, but Bellys and Conrads interactions always brought out the worst in him. He won't be able to get past that. There will always be this jealousy remaining, even though when Conrad and Belly aren't together. This will make him question their relationship.
Jere might develop feeling for someone else as well. If they keep the hook up part from season 3, I am sure they will make clear that it happened during a break up time btw Jere and Belly. Ppl always say how it was out of character for him to do that, when actually it wasn't. He didn't cheat on her bc he thought they were broken up. But Jere was always the guy to be more cozy with ppl, especially in the show. So to me, it's not suprising for him to hook up with someone while being drunk and being nroken off with Belly. The whole issue is, that break up meant different things to them, which is why they won't work in the first place.
No matter how these storylines are going to turn out, one thing i pretty clear. Conrad and Belly are endgame. As you said the foreshadowing is there and there are already so many hints especially book ppl can see, bc the book and the show go hand in hand since season 2. They hit all the main points from the books.
I can recommend listening to the songs and lyrics in all Jere/Belly and Conrad/Belly scenes, it adds so much to the foreshadowing.
All in all, can't wait for season 3 or maybe even a season 4 :)

I find Belly so annoying. I feel sorry for Conrad and Jeremy... but especially for Conrad. She said Conrad gave up on them, but she was the one who BROKE off their relationship. Like, yes, Conrad was in a mood, but seriously, his mom was dying and clearly he was going through some things. She tells Conrad that apparently they don't love each other enough, but uses Jeremy as a rebound. So selfish and a hypocrite.

The books end at book 3. So far we have gotten book 1 and book 2 in the form of seasons. I think season 3 is gonna be the last one. It has to come to an end at some point, unfortunately 😭
