I´ve been collecting watches for 10 years and the most complimented watch by far is my one week old San Martin bronze diver. People don´t notice that I wear a rolex (OP in white) at all.
I love that you showed the Citizen, a great watch for a reasonable price. I have the SKX009 for my dive watch. I use it when we go to the beach/boogie boarding and snorkeling on vacation. You’re 100% correct most people don’t use the watches for diving (myself included). That being said, I only paid a couple hundred for my SKX so it’s worth it for me
had my Breitling superocean stealfish for over 10 years, still looks like new and has taken a lot of beatings due to my work. Only thing you didn't go into was that with the higher end watches they do require a service every few years which is around £350 / $500
I also have a Breitling Superocean- waterproof to 5000 ft- love the watch and actually dive with it. Not sure I would dive in my Rolex. I wear my SuperOcean as my hunting/fishing etc. watch. I have had to have it serviced once in 12 years.
Beyond a certain price-point you’re not buying the watch for you, you’re buying it for the people who are going to see you wearing it. I wear a Tissot Powermatic 80 that retails under $1,000 and it’s a very nice watch. Interesting thing I noticed the other day… I was looking at a bunch of watches online and almost all the ones I really liked were between $1000 and $2000.
I didn’t even wear a watch for years. The last time I did wear one it was a $10 time mix that I bought at the PX. But sometimes, depending on what you do for a living, you have to wear the “uniform“ and that includes things like a nice watch.
Same here. Jobwise G-Shock Casio is the best choice if you work in rugged environments. It's a very trustworthy companion at work and privately... Another companion of mine is the Citizen Skyhawk AT for leisure and weekends...
What hurt the most regarding watches, I borrowed my dads Rolex Day Date when I was about 21 to wear for a black tie event, no one gave a shyt, only 1 person noticed and she asked if it was a fake. My friend borrowed my vastly less expensive Tag Heuer Quartz watch on a steel bracelet, because he only had Digital watches and he got about 5 compliments (Probably because his trade mark was wearing huge 50mm G-Shocks with bright coloured straps that stuck out like a sore thumb). And I admit, my watch looked great on him (Muffled expletives).
Invicta makes a submariner knockoff that is great for daily use. I have the blue one and get lots of compliments. Agree with you on the movement. Less expensive watches use cheap movements. But then again they are less expensive. Great video.
The Invicta pro diver, if it's the automatic model, uses a 24 jewel, seiko nh35 movement so you're essentially buying a seiko. They also make a pro diver with a swiss eta movement. Those sell for about $250 - $500 dollars. I have 4 Invictas including the swiss model which I wear daily, including when I dive. During the time I've had it, I've only had to reset it for daylight savings time . It keeps good time, its built tough, and if I damage it, or loose it I'm not going to be out 11 grand. I purchased my first invicta as a substitute for my Omega Seamaster to wear daily and after seeing how it performed, I was so impressed I bought 3 more. My only complaint is that the unidirectional bezel in one of them is very stiff and they all could use a diving extension on the bracelet for wearing over a wetsuit. Otherwise, the quality is surprisingly good for the price.
The price of the watch isn’t as important as it makes you feel. If you like a cheap watch, wear it with pride. I personally truly appreciate the care that goes into higher watches, but that’s me! You decide what you like.
Based on a previous video on watches I purchased two Bostoks, they have become part of my EDC. I also, based on your reviews; obtained two Vincero's. One dress and one casual style. I also have had a solar Seiko for years, don't recall the model. I'm very satisfied with the look, design & function of all five. The Vencerio's & Seiko cost less then two hundred dollars each & the Bostock were fifty each. I'm happy with all five & I have options to wear based on the situation & how I dress out for the day.
Invicta, Rolex, Tudor. #2. I was able to spot by bezel metal quality. And to me - that's the very first indicator unless it has obviously ugly built. All great advice - thanks! And..absolutely love PANERAI (however their Submersible could fit King Kong's wrist only - seen on my cousin though:)
I have squale Tropic With a ETA movement. And a seiko Flight master! I get more compliments on my seiko than my Brightling. Like you said , most people don't care about your watch Love this video!! 🤘🏾
I watched this video knowing my level of watch collecting is probably a tier above most casual watch fans looking for quick tips and tricks.. Generally pretty good. But, in my opinion. And not to sound like a snob. Invicta, aren't very good, even for the money.. Which is a shame, as a brand, they've been around for longer than Rolex. For the money, and for a good homage watch, taking queues from vintage Rolexes but putting their own twist. Steinhart are really good. I own the Ocean One Vintage Diver Watch. It's a homage of a '63 Rolex submariner with explorer dial.. On a nato strap, wears well smart, casual and anything in-between.
I wear a seiko watch I paid just over 100 for and people are always impressed by it surprised by the brand and price. I'm incredibly ruff on watches and can't justify a luxury watch yet in life lol
Just a tip, if you're going to shoot at a shallow depth of field like 2, one of your subjects (face or watch) is going to be out of focus and its a bit distracting. Awesome subject and content though!
My dads 50th birthday is coming up and I want to buy him a new watch since his go to watch is a citizen eco drive my mom gave him 10 years ago. I would prefer a dark watch like a graphite since he likes black I was thinking of a 44mm watch with metal bands. My Budget is around 250 is there anything you guys recommend?
2 &3 $ 100 ? Watching the seconds it ticks , Rolex is a continuous smooth action. Side note, One reason Rolex are so good. In the 17th century the king ban jewelry making but watches where not included in the ban, thus amazing watches . Thank you for video
I visited America a few years back, and I always tend to buy a watch (as a gift to myself) after the visit Whilst in the airport duty free I was looking at some when the lady behind the counter started to show me a Casio for around $500. I said sorry love but No. Casio here in the UK are cheap as chips, although good watches, once the battery goes flat we tend to Chuck the watch and buy a new one ...... their that cheap here. Casio tend to be a basic work watch, one you don’t mind getting scratched or broken. And the one she was showing me was nothing special. Something I could probably pick up for around £30 It all depends on what people ‘think’ their worth sometimes
This video remind me. I've never got compliment on my vacheron contantin. Instead people always compliment me on my cheaper Pierre Cardin watch. It does look identical.
Contrary to what you said, a quartz watch is a "real watch". It is higher technology, is more reliable, costs less to maintain, and is much more accurate. Hard to complain. I own both quartz and mechanical watches, and enjoy both.
I hate this notion that because something is less expensive to make it somehow inferior. Quartz is used so much precisely because it's extremely accurate and far easier to make and maintain!
@@RealMenRealStyle I’d be honored, sir!!!!! Thank you very much!!!!! As I said, I am a drummer, but I want to know what you’d recommend for all musicians: guitarists, bassists, drummers, etc. Thanks very much.
Most people or if i should say majority of the people will not notice the difference. When it comes to clothing...if it fits well....I may think it is expensive but with watches....I will not be able to spot the difference in terms of price.
If Rolex weren’t having to add the cost of sponsoring major sports events I doubt you’d pay more than $2000 for the actual watch based on its build quality. Apple phones sell for that price and we all know they cost less than a $100 to make. This Swiss made is a con when only 60% of the watch production has to be Swiss.
To be quite honest... I couldn't tell which watch was the expensive one.. they all looked bad to me, and like something that would get destroyed in a matter of hours. Maybe I'd be pleasantly surprised, but none of them look near rugged enough for daily wear. (For me. Different social circle and lifestyle, and I'm sure any of then would last for years)
I'm from Latin America so my budget for a watch is 50 dollars, I could spend more, but more than that it just ridiculous considering the amount of money I make.
Submariner hommages have more disappointment with wide chapter ring where dial is located too far away from the crystal. Furthermore the chapter ring is not perfectly vertical in relation to the dial The crystal edges are not well finished with chapter ring and bezel inclination angle and quality of bezel serrations and bezel width to crystal diameter ratio are never perfect.

Got my vitaman sample pack last night, tried the face wash and moisturizer this morning, love how they smell and how they feel.

Expensive watches are Rube Goldberg machines on your wrist. It is technically pointless, but it's pretty cool.
I aspire to a Rolex explorer II it my $21 Casio forester from Walmart is the most durable, practical watch for me at the moment.
Mineral crystal is less likely to break but more prone to scratches.
Don't worry about vitaman being the sponsor I just saw a vincero add.
I gave this a Thumbs Up just because Antonio compared Vitaman in the same sentence as Nicole Kidman.
Wow! I really like this new light and setup!
Thanks Tina!
I have a Seiko Samurai and the rotating bezel just doesn't feel the same as the Submariners.

It all depends on what people ‘think’ their worth sometimes
Quick answer: yes. Yes I was.
My Date Just Rolex increased 50% in value , and I will pass it on my son someday. I also own many different seiko watches, and they seem last forever.
I'll have to watch this video 10 times before I take in all that info

Excellent video..enjoy your day 👏

I fortunately own 2 high-end luxury watches, both of them are presents my wife gave me to celebrate key “milestones”, as you mention👌🏻

Nowadays Replicas under a $100 delivers 90%-95% of a $10.000 watches. Technically is a no-brainer decision.
