Hi
This car came to me due to not cranking... the car would start pushed, but not from the key.
To start, an issue with a 3rd party "immobilizer" system... but was more to it... much more!
Follow me on this video to find out what was the problem and how to resolve it.

In a previous job I used to fit those boxes for poor customer finance companies. They immobilise the car on non payment and send gps signal for repossession guys. They send last position on disconnect too. Great fix video. I always check for box if no feed to starter keep up the great work
Thanks!

I just started watching your channel, very enjoyable, especially since as an American you work on many vehicles that I do not see.
Thanks...
You have however, very nice cars over there, that I would love work on...😋
👍👍👍
Great as always. When I watched the video the "start/stop relay". I don't think it's for a start/stop circuit. I was reading the options available and it looks like it's literally a screen to actually test the relays/circuits on the car
As well as being brilliant at your job, you also have a sense of humour. "First of all it's a Fiat. No disrespect but...."
Excellent. Fiat stands for Fix It Again Tomorrow.
Well done.

I used to install those boxes for a local “Buy here,Pay here” dealership. I had one in the shop recently for removal and whoever the new installer is did a hack job with household wirenuts.

What a lovely place for the starter motor .. why its not in the place of the headlight .. no it will be in the most dirty place .. what a shame it happens always .. great job sir !!

Hi which one is the starter motor relay ?
Got issue, nothing happens or heard clinking, so garage replaced starter and it started first time but after that nothing, now sometimes starts but sometimes nothing, sometimes screeching from starter area, don’t know what the issue is.
Checked the relay but that’s ok so don’t know what it is
What relays are responsible for the starter?
Hi.. do you know something about relay of the turn signal lights?? Where they are located??? Thank you
How can I get my car out of park manually it is a 2004 Punto artomatic will not came out of park
Over the years have found that when an owner doesn't volunteer the previous repairs detail on book in, that they usually had some involvement themselves or a friend who becomes a mechanic for the sake of the story. What mechanic would replace a starter without testing ignition and 12 vt feeds, manual crank etc? Usually I then find when questioned they cannot recall the name of said garage, mechanic or have invoice. It was a parts fitter that got stumped by electrical 101I would suggest.
Know exactly what you mean...
I get that quite a lot...
Thank you for watching and for your comment!
Someone change the starter motor...
Thought it was the problem. They don't found the black box...
Connected very bad and , nothing changes.
At the moment, they're brought the car to you...
From the beginning, the problem was on the black box.
IMHO Change the battery as well.
I apologize for my English, but I'm an Italian mechanic.
Thanks for your video.
Yes... as I mentioned at some point... the "box" was initially the only problem...
Thank you for watching and for your comment!
Ciao maestro allora è vero che se installato antifurto Malè la macchina non parte? Mìa macchina ha tanti anni parte e non parte un meccanico mi ha detto ai il problema con il antifurto 😯. Puoi aiutarmi. Grazie
Awesome video Luis! A 2 part diag... would've never thought the starter would be wired in incorrectly. Good find there! The GPS "thing" was a little unexpected.
I made it to the end... so the battery was ultra low, which makes sense due to the key on testing.
Fantastic video! 😊😊
Thanks Cuba!
Yes... was a few things on this one...
But got there in the end!

2008 palio bazen kontağı okuyor bazen okumuyor onun sebebi de bu anten midir. yoksa body computer de başka bir şey mi var. Özellikle öğlen sıcak havalarda okumuyor
You need to get a battery maintainer mate
I have one now...
😉
You need to get a garage mechanic, mate. LM is far, far better than any of the old shite that you've ever uploaded. He's in the Diagnose Dan category. You aren't.

Bodgit and leggit has great content, and I am sure he helped plenty of people...

Thank you for watching!
@@LMAutoRepairs The difference is that you are Master of your trade, and he isn't. Your videos are helpful, whereas every job that Liam does goes wrong because he's stupid.
Sean kirby, not a fair comment. I watch Luis, Leon (not Liam) Steve, Danni plus many more. I've been a mechanic for forty years and have never watched any of there videos without learning something. Leon's channel is always very informative especially when he gets to work on cars that muppets like you had a go at first. Sorry Luis for hijacking your video to make my point. Please all of the youtubers keep up the hard work. With the exception of the odd tool that can't use a tool we all appreciate your work.
Nice job!
I had a same Punto with the Same problem coming in. Also checked the starter, but that was fine.
Turns out, the wiring on the back of the ignition lock was the problem. After replacing it, the problem was solved.
(oh and no spooky box in it ;-) )
🤣🤣🤣🤣
No spooky box....

You did it again - Fix it again Tony - FIAT :) Great video
Lol

@Insane Engine
😂😂😂
Not Fiat problem
Hii...m working on fiat punto..when i start it revs at very high speed and ac is permanently on...it shows fault code of can line U1601 and pedal position sensor A/B voltage correlation P2135....should i check can wires with oscilloscope??? plzzz suggest what cud be the fault??? thank you sooo much
You can...
But the pedal has nothing to do with the can...
Thank you for watching!
I am also having that kind of problem in Fiat Grande Punto 1.3 multijet diesel. All lights are coming in display which means the battery is fine although it's just 2 years old. But when I try to start the engine nothing happens it started one & two time few days ago, but now it's not starting even after many try. What might be the problem any guidance? TIA
Start by scanning the car...
Check the starter relay... bypass it if possible and see if cranks...
Thank you for watching and for your comment!
Nice job Luis, trick one having the gps box mate, and then funky stater motor 😊... cheers 👍👍👍

8:43 Stevie Wonder would be proud of them solder joint connections🤣🤣🤣
I deserved that one...😊
😂😂😂😂
good video i would listen for starter relay checked feeds at starter with test light keep things simple spotting the cut out box was a good move
The fact that I was not ear the relay, was what lead me to look for fuses etc inside the car... and after the box removed, I could ear the relay, but no crank, which lead me to the starter motor... lol

Great video!
I have a problem with no cranking after I did: 1. Reset self-learning function, 2. Self-adaptation reset and 3. Phonic wheel learn with Multiecuscan 4.5 on my Fiat Punto Evo 1.2.
I had never had a problem with not cranking. Even before to execute those resets the car had started perfectly.
Would you suggest to me where the problem could be? The Multiecuscan software indicate that the battery voltage is 11.6V. Is it possible to be a problem or I did something wrong to the car ECU and there is no signal to the starter?
Thank you very much!
Check codes and live data...
Thank you for watching and for your comment!
@@LMAutoRepairs I have checked the codes. They are: P1300-55 "Phonic weel learn" and P1302 -29 " Gearbox type recognition"
Unfortunately, I cannot proceed with the Phonic weel learn because it required a working engine in order to accelerate 3 times up to 5000rpm. My engine is like dead now. Any idea of what to do?
Thank you for your answer.
@@dimitardimitrov9958
Check powers and grounds to the ecu etc...
Check ground straps...
@@LMAutoRepairs I didn't even moved the car. At 10.20am the car worked and 2 minutes later after proceeding with the Self adaptation reset done with Multiecuscan the car didn't crank anymore... nobody touched anything mechanically.
Dimitar Dimitrov hi found your comments on the non start after using ecu scan ! Did you manage to repair it?
if you were my neighbor, you can use may garage (and lift for free)...you are really a craftman!

Hi pal, my battery sits at about 12.6 V when sat when I turn the key to start it it drops by 1.5V is this normal? I've recently just got a problem where the car is struggling to start? What do you think it could be? Any comments appreciated!
Also to add when I turn my ignition on I have the click also..
@@jim6751
Are you sure is dropping from 12.6 to 1.5?
That's a massive drop!
You either have a really knackered battery, or something really wrong in the car...
Thank you for watching!
@@LMAutoRepairs Sorry for the miss understanding. I am saying it's at 12.6v standing and it drops by 1.5v not down too that. The car has been owned from new and is mechanically fine since this has started.
@@jim6751
No worries... I think I also read it wrong....🤦♂️
It is normal to have some voltage drop, have the battery tested, it can be the battery getting to the end of its life...
That proving ok, check you have something on the car that it pulling that...
Hope that helps...

Well, more than half of the electrics are made by Bosch on these cars. So...

fiat group is the worst brand on the planet. full of electrical problems and very poor and cheap stupid design. these days I replaced a seized engine in an Opel Insignia 2.0 CDI with a fiat engine inside. problem was the oil pump gasket between the oil pump and the oil pickup. somehow those genius in fiat mounted a rubber gasket to compensate a +5mm gap. that gasket will shrink over time and the pump will suck air and the oil will produce foam with inherent oil pressure lost and seized main bearings. the engine was replaced and we mounted a circular flange (custom built) between oil pump and the pickup.
I used to love the fiat group for their rally heritage with the Delta Integrale , but after being involved in motorsport with that particular car I lived only horror stories like .... after an gravel special stage the delta chassis will bend big time cause made of tinfoil ...
chocolate engines and transmissions too .... I know chocolate is good but this one was expensive.
.... now I have 3 Honda`s in my garage and spleep well at ninght and have some money to go on holiday too :)
haha, maybe i got lucky when i was able to return my ford ka (fiat 500) due to an undiagnoseable electrical engine fault and got a toyota instead
@@jusb1066 That's scary; Ford Ka and Fiat 500 are the same. Mind you Toyota Aygo comes out of the same factory as Peugeot's and Citroens; too much cost cutting in the car industry now.
I came from a family who all drove Fiat. My first Fiat was a Uno, after that the classsic old Panda..(i owned 11 of them in total, also one with 315.000km on the clock with the original engine, repaired 2 gaskets) also had a Punto 188 model without problems..
In 2010 i bought a Fiat Panda 169, in the 3 years i owned only mechanical problems, no electric problems.
after that:
Fiat Panda 2005 Diesel: Molted connector on the BSI causing electric problem, ECU problems and short to ground.
Fiat Doblo 2006 Diesel: EGR, DPF, timing belt, starters relay
Fiat Panda 4x4 2004: Molted connector
Fiat Panda 4x4 Cross 2005 Diesel: Molted connector, damaged BSI, Alternater, a lot of sensors, Timing chain broke on 182.000km (fiat suggest replacement on 200.000), replaced the motor for a new one with 99.000km on it. that was 2400km ago but all is OK now and we are happy with it.
I also own a Fiat Tipo 1995 without any fancy electronic and runs fine
But yeah, Fiat are verry bad with electrics and the scary thing is, PSA group is getting more and more Fiat electrics in it so more electric problems will come in the future (but thats money for us ;-) )
What a load of waffle… just get to yhe point
🤣
Hope you learned something though...
Otherwise just don't watch...
