Great video. I have old version similar wiring and clock face switch it possible to upgrade to a digital switch like the Honeywell digital 7 programmer Honeywell Home RPLS740B ECONOswitch ?
Thank you, I just to make sure if the on and off clips were just on there by screw and not connected to anything behind the wheel. I was trying to change the time and one came off and I thought I had to flip the wheel and connect & align the clip to whatever it was connected to behind ut
Hello! My lights aren’t coming on. I can turn them on manually. All is installed correctly. Screws/switches are on tight. They’re just not switching on when on the timer. Help?
Scott…the clubhouse has an Intermatic timer that controls our outdoor floods and (believe or not) a receptacle by the gazebo 200 feet from the clubhouse where the timer resides. Is it possible that the electrician hooked up the outdoor floods AND the receptacle? By looking behind the plastic cover, how can I confirm this? I’ve got 2 whites on the Neutral screw, 1 white and 1 black on the Line screw, and 1 black on the Load screw. A safer way of asking is….if I were to remove 1 of the whites on the neutral screw that we know should NOT be hot,, can I safely allow the timer to go on at night allowing me to then see which is no longer working, the outdoor floods or the gazebo receptacle? Your thoughts please.
I wish I could help you out. I'm not quite sure how to fix the problem without being there in person to see. Should be able to turn the breaker off mess with whatever wire you think it might be, then turn the breaker back on to see if it's working correctly. (or maybe spend a few bucks to get a professional out to look at it)
So if you aren't close to the ON switch. You can just adjust the time. If you are close, then I normally click it on and then adjust the time. Easier to adjust when it's not close to the on/off tabs. I hope that makes sense and helps you out!!
I have the T101 Intermatic. It has worked for 6 years but my timer has quit working. Is there a way to buy just the timer or do you need to buy the entire box? Thanks
Very good tutorial, thanks! Could I use this with a pump start relay for an irrigation well pump? Or would I even need a pump start relay? All I want is timer to turn on irrigation pump from well to water the garden everyday for 30 min.
Garage envy, for sure..Is it possible to connect two lines to this device? I have landscape (low voltage) lights and lamp post lights that I would like on one timer.
The only issue I see is the connector you used to push the wires through. In this case you should have used a plastic bushing . The wires could have gotten damaged when tightening down. The connector has to be used with the armor over the wires and. Installed the other way around. Other than that good job .
The manual ‘on and off’ is confusing. There is no auto position. Is off, off all of the time. Is on, on all of the time. So is off, off, but will come on at designated times!? I’m assuming. On will be on all of the time. Confusing.
The electrician I’m me cringed at certain aspects of this video. Can we start with that connector being installed backwards? You wired it right but completely but butchered terminology. Power comes in on the LINE side and the lights are one the LOAD side. This is important as people reading a schematic could misinterpret this and completely wire something wrong. If you don’t know how to explain something these videos are dangerous. This is how people start fires through bad explanations.
Thank you for showing how to punch out the holes in the case!
Glad it was helpful!
Thank you so much!!! I put it on my pool pump. Video helped me out a lot. Thanks👍
Thanks for watching! I’m glad it helped you out
Quick, clear, to the point! Nice job!
Glad you liked it!
Can someone explain how to set up a ET 1700?
Thanks for the video! This helped me tremendously as wiring isn’t my forte
You're welcome! The reason I started this channel, to help others!
Good work Zittle, videos are looking great!!!
Thanks Alan. Appreciate it!

Excellent video well done.
Thank you very much!
You meant Line 1, not Load 1, correct?

Thank you for the video. This timer can use with the water heater and the same connection? Thank you very much !
I would think so. Just make sure you get the right size for the voltage.
What did you use to punch out the metal hole? Was it a screw driver?
Yea. A flathead screwdriver!

Do you leave timer on or turn off when adjusting time
Sorry do you turn manually off or leave on

I only have one white wire for neg and a green wire for ground. where are you getting two white wires from?
Excellent effort and very well explained!
Glad it was helpful!

I’m not to sure. I feel like just buying a new one would save a lot of headache in the future.
It's a T101M, Home Depot stocks them.
Loved it just put on pools
Glad it helped!
so do you leave the switch on or off?

I would say yes but I am not 100% sure. I'm glad the video helped!!
Where's the dimmer??that the timmer supplies when on?
It is on the switch that is between the timer and the lights.
Thanks buddy
Garage envy, for sure..Is it possible to connect two lines to this device? I have landscape (low voltage) lights and lamp post lights that I would like on one timer.
Thanks!! It’s been a long process. I don’t see an issue with what you want to do! Once again, I am not a professional electrician though. Ha
don’t yu need to power the time clock up wit a separate cct just for the timeclock and then bring ur line and load wires for the lights ?
Nope. Just one wire!
Great thanks sir
You're welcome!
What does the pointer do?
Tells you the time.
great video. keep up the good work
Thanks, will do!
Just when you say main power that actually line side from the panel 120v in and other is load side ,to light or whatever your application is
Thanks for the clarification!!
Thank you 🙏
5 THUMBS UP
Thanks!!! I’m glad you enjoyed and hope it helped!
What happens if the manual switch turns the lights on and off but I dont hear or feel the gears turning for the clock
That's interesting. There might be something wrong with the motor in there. Maybe try getting a replacement.
What size is screw for insulator?
I don’t quite understand the question
Power in is called the line, power out is called the load, you said those opposite in your description..
Oops. I'm no professional. But thank you for the clarification!
Dude, where are your panel covers!

I could see that! Thanks for watching and the feed back
How would you bypass the timer with these mechanical timers?
just set that on off switch to on or off to bypass
Romex connector is installed wrong
Thanks!

Good job .but line is supply voltage not load .load is whatever you want off and on .Line 1- 2 is load .
Connector 😂😂😂 wow

You wired it right but completely but butchered terminology. Power comes in on the LINE side and the lights are one the LOAD side. I know it’s not correct way but hopefully the not so experienced people understand. Thanks for the comment and watching though!!
Your video is pretty complete - but Drice Walker made a complement to your video - with detailed wiring - ua-cam.com/video/AIK4fE8UmWM/v-deo.html
So much wrong here
Thanks Justin!!!
