Give her a new camper! Defective manufacturing.
You know it. Thanks for watching, Melissa, and stay tuned.
I agree 100%. Warranty issues are typically related to defective parts or workmanship issues that are identified over a certain period of time. Defeciencies are defects that should have been identified and corrected prior to shipment. Jayco should have addressed them as part of their quality control process. Also, the dealer should have seen the visible defects and, rather than that unit, it should have been shipped back to the factory for repair.
Shame on both of them for their sloppy workmanship and for putting you through all of this! Jayco should step up and provide you with a new, replacement camper, as soon as possible. Your unit could then be returned to Jayco for repair, and sold as a used RV. In my opinion, anything less is unacceptable. If I worked for Jayco, the next trailer off the line would have your name on it and I would deliver it to your house. I hope that this can be resolved as quickly as possible with minimal stress on your part.
Jayco needs to step up and replace the defective unit with a brand new one. Before taking delivery and signing any papers she needs to have a professional inspection done so she doesn't get another lemon. Something needs to be done about the poor quality from RV manufacturers. When people stop buying this junk then they will have to do something about the quality problem. Wake up RV manufacturers. I would be afraid of buying and RV today because of the poor quality that is coming out of the factories. Hopefully Brinkley will continue with great customer service & quality. If Brinkley gets bought out by one of the BIG GUYS then things will definetly change. The BIG GUYS only care about making a big profit off of customers who do not know all about their poor customer service and very poor quality. What a shame!!!!!!

"Also, the dealer should have seen the visible defects and, rather than that unit, it should have been shipped back to the factory for repair."
The dealership did notice the defects.
The sales person said that they were all like that.
They have disclaimers in original contract where you cannot sue. So they just dont have to fix it
I WAS JUST ABOUT TO GO TO MY NEAREST JAYCO DEALER AND PURCHASE A JAYCO. BUT AFTER WATCHING THIS VIDEO... NO WAY!!! 🇺🇸
NEVER AGAIN!!! THIS IS ----ING CRIMINAL!!!
I’m looking but no Jayco for me
I have this exact camper, same options too. Ours is a 2023 that we bought in October of 2023. Fortunately, ours has been great. I really feel for her, and Jayco should make it right (new camper).
Good decision.
Replace is the right thing to do. It’s always a better look to take responsibility for one’s work. . .instituting a qc step at the factory might prevent future incidents. . .also, a design engineer hire wouldn’t hurt business either.
Jayco should just give the poor lady her money back and she should move on.
Another new one?, just another piece of crap. Cash back only.
With all the complaints I see about poor quality in RVs of all prices, I am surprised there isn't a lot of class action lawsuits being brought against the entire industry..
In short, the cases are unwinnable. Therefore, there’s no money in it for the lawyers. And it’s not the lawyers fault, it’s that there are no national (and few state) lemon laws for RVs. On top of that, the RV manufactures now make you sign paperwork that is ironclad in their favor against allowing you to sue, and with the owner being stuck with shoddy RVs.
I'll stick to tents...
My two cents is to select a year, features and buy a pre-owned one. Have it inspected but do not use The Lemon squad (expensive personal experience)
Wow, they owe her a NEW camper that's up to snuff. Shame on them.
I agree .Thanks for watching and stay tuned.
For sure a new camper is due to this family!
Yes they should get a new camper but I have my doubts that the new camper would be free of flaws. These companies seem to have a corporate culture of turning out junk with short warranties and no customer service.
@@LizAmazing Thank you for what you do Liz. I will be calling Jayco Monday. I have a 1994 Jayco tent trailer that has held up well. If 600 people call Jayco I promise there will be a positive response. It's a shame that is what is required.
I disagree. My opinion will likely be unpopular, but so be it. First, let me say that I am in no way excusing Jayco's build of this trailer with screws that damaged the fiberglass paneling. They goofed. However, it appears that Ruby is not even allowing Jayco an opportunity to correct their mistake. She wants to skip straight to "gimme a new trailer". That's not the way things work. If Jayco is willing to repair the damage, she should give them the chance. Because if Jayco attempts to fix it, and fails, that would support Ruby's case for a new trailer. I understand that Michigan does not have a lemon law for RV trailers, but there is something called the Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act (MMWA), a federal act that covers all 50 states, including Michigan. And what's great about the MMWA is that it allows the consumer to recover attorney fees, so if she has a good case, she'll have no trouble finding an attorney, because the lawyer knows he can bill Jayco, and Jayco has deep pockets. Trust me, it's hard to find a lawyer willing to take a case when the defendant is uncollectable, but that's not the case here. So she should give Jayco the opportunity to fix the fiberglass. Even if the fiberglass de-laminates at a later date, after the warranty expires, because the claim was initiated while the warranty was still in effect, she would still have a viable claim under MMWA. But if she doesn't give Jayco a chance, the MMWA won't help. Worst case scenario is what... that Jayco actually fixes it? It would be an inconvenience, sure, she'd be without the trailer for a while and have to arrange transportation (Depending on where it was purchased and what the terms and conditions are, maybe Jayco would be on the hook for transportation), but if Jayco succeeds, she would have a good working trailer if it's fixed. If it's not fixed, that adds to her case.
No Patchwork!!! Ruby needs to receive a NEW camper!!!!!!!!
I'm a certified rv tech.
I work for a Jayco dealer
I been inside Jayco factory during building time. They can can build one camper every hour. No quality control They build and roll it out. To dealer. They need to replace entire camper. Due to fiberglass. If they try to fix it. Fiberglass is going to cracks during winter time.
Thank you for your knowledgeable opinion! Jayco needs to make this right for this young family!
Also want to give a shout out ti Liz for a couple of things. #1- not stopping even though big companies have threatened her. #2 Not accepting a bribe to stop. #3 We had an issue with an electric bike company that hadn't sent us the upgraded batteries we paid for. After she got a hold of them they sent them and fixed the problem on their website's inventory. The main issue however is they didn't respond to FB message, emails, and "Contact us" attempts- but they were "on it" after she talked to them.
👏🏼 good to hear! 😀
Thank you Liz for helping people with your channel n personal time. 🍻
What's sad is these companies aren't doing the right thing on their own but only trying to save themselves from bad publicity. It's all about them and not their customers. Shame on them. And the ones doing the right thing are only doing it after being hounded over and over again by Liz. They didn't initially do the right thing but tried to ignore their customers. Shame on all of them.
@@tinaperez9756 u r absolutely right, big corp, it's all about the greed n money. 🍻
Come on Jayco, protect your reputation, give this young family a new camper !.
But this has always been their reputation for at least 6 years...they will not change
What reputation? No reputation, nothing to protect. Welcome to the rv life of American dream! Wake up, it's just a dream😅. You're dreaming 😅.

The internet gives companies the reputation they deserve nearly instantaneously !!!
she deserves a new camper, definitely. the manufacturing company should stand behind anything that isn't 100%.
My wife and i looked at Jayco trailers about 7 years ago. I remember to this day how cheaply they were made with thin press board and thin plywood. I remember on a brand new trailer how it was already warping and separating. I walked out of the dealer and my wife and i looked at each other like WOW they look like low budet units. That was 7 years ago so im guessing nothing has changed with them.
Absolutely, they should give her a new camper! And they should be ashamed of themselves for allowing a defective product to be sold in the first place. Jayco, we are watching and are NOT happy!
That salesman needs to be sued too.
Liz, they should 100% give her a new camper
Great job Liz exposing all these folks RV horror stories think will stick with tents and hotels
They need to buy it back or just give her a new one ! The RV industry has soured many potential buyers ! They are continuing to give themselves a black eye!!! Thanks Liz !!! 😁
She should get a new camper. That never should have left the factory.
That's what I'm thinking! I hope Jayco reconsiders. Thanks for watching.
GIVE HER A NEW CAMPER! It's THEIR fault.
No way!!! I would tell them I want a new one due to their poor craftsmanship!! Call the attorney general office in their state!
That's what I think! Feel free to share this video to help it go viral. We need to put the pressure on Jayco.
Yes, they need to report it to the state attorney generals office, both in the state where the manufacturer is incorporated and in the state where the unit was built.
Yes, and you;d be wasting your time. I wish there was a lemon law on campers but based on the 100’s of Liz videos, it appears not. Even shaming them on social media barely gets their attention but they’d better wake up. Liz and others are bringing attention to the crappy build quality and they need to realize something. Enough of this and any savvy shopper will hear about it, and if they don’t buy, the companies go bankrupt. Prior to social media, they may have gotten away with it because no mass way to spread the word. Now it’s everywhere.
Give that woman a new camper. If Jayco can’t stand behind their campers then people need to stop buying them. Such shoddy workmanship coming out of the RV industry the last several years. I am glad I will not be buying an RV now. I will just keep my 2006.
Absolutely……you guys screwed up and this is not what I paid for………it’s a new one or all of my money back plus money for the inconvenience…..let the lawyer handle it…….so ridiculous
Jayco needs to give Ruby a new camper
World needs more of u of Liz. Bless you.
I am sharing this video with my friends, please pass the word around STAY CLEAR OF JAYCO!!!
This has been common knowledge for a long time I believe.
@@ariesbarb418nothing common knowledge about screws sticking out the other side of the fibreglass totally unacceptable!
I suggest that everyone call Jayco and ask for President Ken Walters. Tell him to give Ruby a new camper! I just left him a message.
What number? You got through to his voicemail? I would love to send himnan email.
Wow I am really surprised that Jayco is a part of the problem. I think she should not only get a new replacement but Jayco should also compensate her for the time she has lost use of the trailer. A couple of years ago we purchased a brand new Keystone and it turned out we were one of the lucky ones that got a good one. We had very few bugs that needed taken care of but we sold it about a year ago because hubby decided we needed to go back to a class B. I sure hope the folks who got it from us are not having any trouble. Thanks Liz for fighting for these customers. My hubby said the other day when he was watching one of your videos over my shoulder, "Liz really is Amazing now that she is doing this for people".
Why are you surprised by Jayco? They are no different than any of the other manufacturers.
@@greg1474 hi Greg. Well like she said in her interview, she'd done lots of research and found them to have great reviews, etc. We did the same but chose Keystone and had better luck than she did. Just shows how quickly things can change.
@@jeanettesjourney9147 Hi back. I honestly don’t believe there are any good RV manufacturers in the US anymore. Even Airstream, Tiffin, etc. are getting tons of customer complaints. Best to you.
@@greg1474 I have to agree with you. Perhaps she did her research before much of the negative about Jayco surfaced. I have watched the RV industry since the 1970's since my dad owned an RV sales and custom manufacturing business. When we started our extensive search a few years back I could not believe the smug attitude of many dealers. I told them to be careful about maintaining customer loyalty as one day the rush on RV sales would slow down and they just laughed at me. Well here we are and they have suffered a combined seasonal loss in excess of 20 Million and counting. And if they end up shutting the doors the customer suffers as well. People just seem to have to learn the hard way these days.
Liz you're doing a very important public service with your videos. Thank you!
It's me again. My heart went out to this lady, family. Shame, shame on Jaco. They gladly took her money. Fresh off the lot!!!. I hope this video gets shared all over the US
But she shared the blame. She accepted delivery. She said she saw the defects. This is the RV industry. Jayco is known as sub par in class b group. I bet they have the same rep with trailers. They r value price sellers. 100% it's the manufacturer's fault but she had control n was not prepared to inspect n walk thru. From dealers to RV cos, this is a confidence game
They noticed a person that had no Knowledge and they Ran with it. Let's sale her this junk trailer get it out of here. 😢
@@debijo5288 her responsibility was to inspect n approve delivery... All she had to do was press pause n say I have to hire my own inspector Bec of what she saw. She had culpability. Saying that the trailer should not have left the factory is not good enough she didn't have to buy it. She should have been prepared to reject. She has seen Liz's vlogs
@@danman1287 Yes, she admitted to seeing the defect, THAT THE SALESMAN blew off and lied about. Some camper dealers remind me of all the used car salesmen's jokes that used to abound.
Most customers are not going to be professional inspectors. A decent company with minimal integrity, should have caught the defects themselves before passing it off on an unaware customer. Very Unprofessional, Unethical and Predatory. This is exactly why “The Lemon Law” was created, and should apply to RV’s as well.
I would accept nothing other than an equal replacement. The RV industry is showing itself to be almost completely lacking in integrity. Unacceptable. And THANK YOU for your channel.
This is why I've decided a campervan is the way to go. We currently have an RV. It's really old and we haven't had any issues besides regular repairs and maintenance. They just don't build them like they used to. We live on a small farm, and we've never even had any mice, nock on wood.
New camper definitely!!! If I don’t hear that Jayci has given a new camper I will not be buying from Jayco. - EVER (and I’m currently shopping for a camper). Please do the right thing.
Send them a ten-day demand letter or your hiring an attorney and will be suing them for emotional distress, attorney fees, and a band new camper.
IM SO GLAD WE ALL HAVE LIZ TO PUSH THESE COMPANIES TO DO WHATS RIGHT. But you have to stay on them.
Thankfully, there are others now, doing the same thing to help people get an understanding of particular issues, with different brands/models, and folks truly need to do their due diligence in spending a good length of time, reviewing and searching for pro's & cons on the unit's their looking at.
Just do the buyback and give her a New camper cause the Jayco should have Never left the factory
Hello Liz, in my never-2b-humble opinion, replacement is the only answer (or money back). It's the right & fair thing to do.
Now, regarding your advice about hiring an RV inspector, when we bought our current coach from a private seller, we hired the services of a company that does that. That company sent an inspector, who took a bunch of pictures. Well, he said he couldn't get on the roof due to a missing rear RV ladder. Well, the RV sat inactive for a year, and when we took it out the first time, we discovered a few leaking areas on the ceiling. I went to the house of the "insperctor" just to discover that he was the regular mechanic that serviced this coach for the previous owners. Is that an "interest conflict" or what? I paid them to work for me, not to help the previous owner sell their RV! So, be very careful when choosing an inspector.
Att. JC.
That's very shady and definitely a conflict of interest. And an inspector should have their own ladder anyways and not even use the ladder on the RV. What a poor excuse! How did you happen to find this inspector? Was he recommended by the sellers?
@@tinaperez9756 No Tina, I search on the internet and they appeared more on the up and up. The recommendation was the deciding factor on the purchase. Roof it's a total and very expensive hassle that we're still dealing with. I temporarily repaired but working on a permanent solution.
@@jccanifornian4252 So sorry you have to deal with this. Shame on that inspector for not going up on the roof.

She deserves a new camper...NO DOUBT about it. She should sue if they don't give her one.
It makes me feel so bad for this lady. Thank you for exposing this company Liz!
Do you think the CEO would patch up his new camper if he was the one who bought it for his family. Not in a million years.
Liz, the more and more I watch your videos, the more and more I'm gravitating to getting an old van and spending 20, 000 to outfit for vanlife. This is crazy.
I’m so turned off by these lemon horror stories, I’m not going to buy any of them. I’m just going to rent.
Learning enough about new RVs lately stopped looking for a new one. Looking to get another 1977 GMC Class A (already have had 2 but had to sell due to moves). As some of them say even with having to spend for some restoration will still be the cheapest toy in the box but then you have a well-made classic.
@@tutttutt9558understand that there are literally thousands and thousands of motorhomes, 5th wheels and trailers out there all across the US. Not everyone has the experiences that Liz is showcasing on her channel. You are ONLY seeing bad experiences on here. And really for every negative, sad experience that is being shown on here there are hundreds of RV owners out there that have positive experiences and EVEN when they have had issues with their RV they were able to get those issues resolved to their satisfaction. You can go to RV resorts all over the US and see RV owners enjoying, having a blast, and loving their RVs. So do not let these stories disappoint you.
@Leyenda, me too. That is exactly what I did.
Good point, sometimes 'used' can be better than new indeed. Obviously, on a used camper, the bugs 'should' be fixed/repaired, plus be lower cost than new.
Liz, do you foresee the industry getting serious about quality production - ever? It just doesn’t seem to be slowing down. You are awesome to put the stories out there to educate all. Please continue to be cautious, staying safe. ❤
🤣🤣🤣🤣 it will not get better .
we are rebuilding a busted out fifth wheel hitch at work, insurance declined the repair , claimed it was lack of maintanance...
what you suppost to do ?
take the fiberglass skin off and pet the cheezy steel to make it happy ?
People can't afford quality, sorry. Even if they could there is no one available with the necessary skills it takes to do the work.
@@jeffwhite3021 we can all buy used. End of story
@jeffwhite3021 it takes no special skills to use 1/4" box tubing for the hitch .
Rather than the 1/8" in this case , and even lighter tubing on the bumper pull unit I made a short video about a year or so ago....
@Onemanstrash1 It would increase the cost and weight of each unit. Steel has become painfully expensive.
Don't get me wrong, I understand your point. There are backend costs to ordering steel in multiple thicknesses to use on an assembly line vs the same gage for everything.
Also, we purchased a new PJ trailer in 2020. The first time we loaded our skid steer the ramp support bar ripped off the trailer. The welds had not even penetrated the steel in several spots and were essentially no stronger than tacks.
This is lack of welding skills. Nothing more nothing less.
I had a 2007 Keystone Passport that had the exact same problem. The dealership had a fiberglass company come in and remove the screws that poke through the sides grind the screws down and replace them. The fiberglass company then repaired the holes in the side of the camper. When they were done I could not tell anything was done to it or there was any damage. I traded the camper and 7 years later and still no problems.
Why would they have to grind them down if they replaced them? There wouldn't be anything to grind down if they replaced them.
To make the screws about an eighth of an inch Shorter. So when they put them back in, they didn't poke back through the fiber glass.( Screws are made in certain lengths, and they didn't want it too short) When they finish the job you could not tell anything was even done to it.
I was scheduled to drive 150 miles TOMORROW to buy an identical used Jayco. Forget that. I'm sticking to metal siding. Looked at a different brand today, the front vinyl had delaminated from sitting in the Las Vegas sun. The rear wall was just beginning. Now, thanks to this video I am more aware of other things to inspect on any rig considered! Thank you!
Jayco, Get serious give Ruby a brand-new unit and reap the rewards from such a gesture. Customers are not a dime a dozen.
They lost my business forever.
Jayco...another fine Thor product. Every maker has its problems, but you couldn't give me a Thor - i'd be constantly worried about what might fail.
I agree! I was looking for a DP a while back and my mom decided to help me and she would find a Thor and I would say sorry Thor is one of the brands that I avoid no matter what….
Agreed 😮
They did right by Robert two weeks ago- actually bought it back based on my interview with him. I hope they decide to do the same here. Thanks for watching, Trish!
When she talked about doing her research, there was a picture of an article on "RV Brands to Avoid". I just did a search on that term and in every single article that came up, the #1 RV brand to avoid was Thor. But I think a lot of people don't realize that Thor also encompasses Jayco, Keystone, Airstream, Tiffin… Etc. So when they think they've avoided Thor, they may actually have bought an RV brand that's a subsidiary of Thor. Same difference.
Only buy a Thor product if you want to start a video channel about RV life and you want to have a lot of thumbnails with agony in your face and titles like "cabinets fell off the wall again!" or "the frame failed and I'm stranded again!". Those all get tons of clicks!
Hopefully, Jayco does the right thing and gives this family a brand new camper with no issues or refund the money back to her! Same on Jayco for lack of quality control.
I am from Muskegon Mi and I am sure I bought from the same dealer. My first camper was a Jayco, It was a little small so I upgraded to a bigger Keystone. The Keystone is a much better made rv in many ways. I have owned this rv for 7 years and we love it. Not one single problem or thing has gone wrong with it and we use it often in our summer months. The dealer was great, very nice and very helpful.
She deserves a new rv
I think so! Thanks for watching and stay tuned.

My heart goes out to that poor woman. Anyone can see she's very upset and with good reason. She spent her hard earned money buying something she felt she would be enjoying for a long time only to have this situation arise. I really don't understand how trailer manufacturers think they can keep churning out inferior products and hope to have anyone come back to them as return customers. They need to replace her trailer and start producing quality products.
She's being over-dramatic. Not to mention her loser husband that obviously got her all amped up.

This one makes me angry Liz. My father and I have been looking at Jayco and this may change my mind if they don’t take care of this lady. Thanks so much for what you do keep up the good work!
Thank you for being an advocate. My heart goes out to everyone that buys a new RV, only to find that they have major defects, with no one standing behind them. I would like to see the manufacturer, not only perform repairs to make the camper back to new condition (without defects), they should also start the clock on the campers warranty, as new.
Yes, that would be wonderful. In fact, all it would take is one company to treat their customers right. Then the rest will fall in line or go out of business.
Yeah, it's sad to see people taking out loans on something (brand new things) and being left with such a problem.
Paying outright and having issues is bad enough, but this is just another level of bad.

I agree 100%
Why lot of American made went down.people used to be proud of their work wanting it done right.nowceant a check send the defect on nobody cares
A friend of mine just bought a 5th wheel camper for 100k and it has outlets that weren't wired and don't work. Every day I am more and more glad I decided to build my own 5th wheel from the ground up. Best part is I owe nothing and no payments need to be made. Built for under 10k.
Kudos Liz for all your help in this industry this lady needs to get a brand new camper and that should be with the answer is there’s no reason why screw should be coming loose. OK so let the guy that put it together by it from the company and enjoy on his way to his new job
I worked as a salesperson for an RV dealer in NJ. Once at the Atlantic City RV Show, I was listening to a Coachman factory rep give a sales speech to a prospective buyer. When he was done,i mentioned to him how much I was impressed with the new model(which was the new class C Catalina motorhome especially his detailed knowledge of the manufacturing process. His honest to God response was "Ed, their all pieces of shit." Turns out he was right. I'll never forget it. What a dishonest industry it is. Especially when hardworking people signed up for 20 year financing and the motorhome was crap in only a few years. Stay away from Hitch RV and Camping World.
My heart goes out to her . They should have gave her a new one . In the old days a couple of fellows would pay the company a visit and convince them to do the right thing
Ruby needs a new camper!! I have owned 7 campers. I have never thought of looking for screws in side walls that are too long. Crazy.
Unconscionable 😮. Jayco should 100% replace the unit. I’m so grateful for all the information you provide. I will definitely be mindful when I buy a new to me rig.
How could you even just want a new camper from this company, knowing that such a simple manufacturing task of putting in screws to hang cabinets got completed horribly wrong? What else did they totally muff up with more complicated manufacturing parts of the camper build? I wouldn't stop until I got a full return of my purchase price and then some extra cash on top for my troubles. 100%. I love these videos that Liz does, that seek justice from these camper manufacturers...just awesome 👌
As someone that is retired and looking to buy my first camper, I am finding your videos very insightful. With the questionable quality, I am beginning to question my decision to even go with a camper. I have private land near a popular lake that I had planned on installing a RV pad on so that we could go there for extended stays. I think just building a cabin on-site may be a better option. Sadly, that will limit my ability to travel to other destinations. After watching your videos, I do believe that I would have my own inspector check any RV that I was planning on buying, and I would also have my own attorney review any sales/service contract. They should offer a warranty buy-back program if repairs like in this video are found within a set time frame.
Be careful and thoroughly inspect whatever you buy and do not take possession until you're happy with it. Point out all flaws and get it IN WRITING and pictures of flaws. Don't trust they'll do the right thing without it in writing.
...and anything that needs fixing , do NOT pay in full until it is fixed, because they will give u the song n dance "oh sure well get that fixed for ya", they will take your money n then put u on several months waiting list GUARANTEED!! All these dealer service centres operate the same way on this continent! So insist on full hook ups and have a qualified inspector test everything at the dealers n yes u will need to baby sit the dealer to make sure the inspector has all things needed to test everything! (I've purchased 4 rvs now), be due diligent, n u will save yourself a lot of headaches dealing with the service centres because the salesman is just the salesman NOT the service centre! Introducing yourself to the service centre manager 😉. And walk in with your plan n stick to it! Good luck 🍻
These manufacturers need to stand by their products
They sure do! It's a wonder they can stay in business! Thanks for watching.
We bought a brand new jayco 166fbs 2023 . First time out realized no water from kitchen fuaset so had to wash dishes in the tiny bathroom sink, also they forgot to hang the window shade on one side of the bed so we had to hang a towel over the window for privacy. The dealer said check the ariator on the fuacet, I removed it still nothing..I do not want to spend a day off going all the way back to the dealer 200 miles away and a full tank of gas in my pickup to have them look. The dealer should really test everything before doing delivery! Now my opinion is campers are not worth $430 a mo for 8 years,no way!
Didnt they do a final walk through with you before you picked it up? I made them run water to it and everyrhing. Found tons of leaks. Turns out tue factory doesnt like to tighten hose fittings lol
Their supposed to!!!!! It's called a dealers prep. AND YOU PAID FOR THAT. it's obviou the didn't do it!
Oh come on Jayco!!!!! How can you not be embarrassed?
Definitely deserves a New Camper, BUT, she should bring an RV Inspector.. Ruby should also seek Legal Advice, due to the Salesman that Laughed in front of her when she noticed something off on the camper before purchase.
She should ONLY be in a one party state and ALWAYS covertly record with a watch app. Never ever believe a dealer, they are all liars.
I think they should give them a brand new camper and even upgrade for them for all the trouble they have put them threw..have seen many new buyers even ones with rvs that cost $400,000 and they had leaks and all kinds of problems..if you can do reserve by all means to that if u can't go threw everything and warrants.. good luck to you and hope all is fixed.
Hey Liz thanks for exposing all these problems. I hope that we can all band together to make a difference. I am in CA and saw a TT I was interested in buying in Florida. I called a respected NRVIA in the same town and he was banned from the business due to finding major problems on 3 RV’s and the clients decided not to buy!! Unbelievable!
I know it. That's why I wanted to shine a spotlight on the RV companies who ARE doing it right. Just posted a video on which RV companies to consider if shopping for a NEW Rv. Eye opening for sure! Thanks for watching: ua-cam.com/video/A-TDD8sSMt4/v-deo.html
People never learn what garbage ALL travel trailers are except for 3 that I know of. I have owned all three, still own two of them and gave one to my grandson. The one I gave him is 40 years old and all original except for the tires of course, the screen door was replaced 5 years ago and the roof fan was replaced with an automatic fan. I have replaced all wheel bearings as part of my own scheduled maintenance program and do an undercarriage inspection annually. They all still have original furnaces, and a/c units. The one I gave my grandson is a 16' gooseneck, I have a 17' gooseneck and the original 13' . The 17' I installed a wood burner for our Winter trips including Canada and 6 trips to Northern Alaska. Our home base is Branson, MO.. Recently purchased an Artic Fox after touring 3 different truck camper manufacturing facilities and purchased the A. F. With slide while still at the factory. It's on a 2024 F 450 flatbed and put stainless boxes down both sides. Will do a couple of test runs with it and a wood stove install for this coming Winter across Canada. My advice is research, research and more research but most importantly go directly to the factories and tour them. When we purchased our first F 250 diesel I went to the Ford plant in Kentucky watched the assembly, the next day after the factory inspection they sent it to a local Ford dealership in Lexington that's where the actual purchase took place. That was in 2005.
Oh Man! That's a factory defect should at least be discounted.
There’s no doubt that Jayco should take that trailer back and replace it with a new one. One that passes inspection by a third party. If I’ve learned one thing from you, Liz, it’s that you better have the RV third party inspected before you sign the paperwork, whether it’s used, or new!
Right you are! Thanks for being here, Vivian!
I love my 2021 Jayco Redhawk 29XK Class C RV 😊
Absolutely a new camper!!
LIZ You are just wonderful. At least these people get the satisfaction of getting their DIRTY STORY OF THE DEALER out to the public Thank you LIZ
Thanks for being here, Laura! I sure appreciate your support. Stay tuned.
I went through an RV warranty and the experience changed me. I went to a dealership last weekend, and I was so so so mean to them and it felt so good. ❤
How do you know an RV dealer is lying? Their mouth is moving.
Never ever trust them, of anything seems a millimeter off, it is really a mile off. Give them hell!!!
Oh my goodness, bless her heart...
A new camper needed!
Thx for your advocacy Liz!!
Thanks for watching and feel free to share this video to help it go viral. We need to turn up the heat on Jayco!!
I’m shocked that this trailer passed the dealer “inspection”. Next time I sell my home I’ll just tell the perspective buyer I did an inspection and everything is A-OK. The lesson to be learned here is never buy anything from an industry with such a poor reputation for quality control, and build quality without an independent third-party inspection.
They dont care, they just want to sell it
Hi Liz, I agree that they should take it back without hesitation. I have reached out to you myself regarding a Jayco Alante that was also new and has 49 things wrong with it, starting with three water leaks that caused damage! I too have spoken with Jayco and they do not want to do anything as of yet! After reading a lot of these comments and people saying " I would tell them.,,, " these people do not realize that Jayco, now dubbed Junkco by another couple that had a water leak, can do or not do anything they want. It seems we are all going to have to get a lot more assertive and do our own advertising on our units!
Ive watched all of your videos and i am suprised time and time again how many different ways they can mess up
Always have an independent inspector
You got that right! Thanks for watching, Janet!
I have a friend who just went through the train7ng to be an inspector. GOOD FOR HER.
She deserves a NEW camper. Jayco needs to step up!
I know it. Feel free to share this video in order to turn up the heat on Jayco. Thanks for watching.
Jayco needs to do the right thing. They need to first address all their quality issues. Second Jayco needs to address their clear manufacturing and design issues. No screw should come that close to puncturing the exterior. Lastly, Jayco needs to provide a solution they would be proud to tell other customers about, not a "we did the bare minimum to fix a major issue that should never happen or leave the plant."
Our first travel trailer was a Jayco, many years ago. The first bad rain in North Carolina, and rain was flowing right through the The window frame on to the counter....
We had it repaired then upgrade to a 5ver...
We have a key stone right now with a rotted floor that seems to have been defective from the factory.
I think we are done with new rvs....
It's hard to tell how much damage was done to the exterior skin. The problem with the overlength screws will keep on showing up. The water intrusion may cause a mold issue. I don't know if they will give you extended warranty, but I would try. It isn't new quality for sure so I would think that a financial deal would be in the offering. Be ready to negotiate the best deal you can. Don't get mad and keep a cool head. Every unit will have flaws of some kind and most won't show up until the warranty is over.
Ray
My heart aches for you, Ruby. I will pray for you that you receive a favorable resolution for your situation.
One thing is for sure - it will all be okay. 🙏 Keep your faith Ruby!
stick and tin RV's are the best and easiest to work on - save money - my sales guy at Camping World sold me my Jayco and told me - it doesn't have all the bells and whistles but the structure is solid - everything else I can do myself. He was correct. After modifying my rig, I found how cheap these things are designed. I would never get fiberglass.
Steve Lehto talks about this on his channel all the time.
He sure does! Thanks for watching.
Yep, unfortunately too many people find out AFTER they purchase an RV that there is (likely) no lemon law, and that getting a lawyer to fight your case is so difficult due to all the laws sheltering manufacturers.
Thank you for sharing this video with us my husband and I were ready to go buy a jayco this summer a high-end fifth wheel by Jayco. After seeing the kind of treatment that they gave you we don't want to experience that for a high-end either and it becomes something of an art to have great customer service anymore. We will be looking and researching for other models thanks jayco for having this kind of experience to your customers so they can share it with the rest of us for trying to buy your product. Customers and reputation make the company not the company that makes the customers there's too much competition and better quality service. 😢
Jayco is junk!
I bought a trailer one time with cracks in fiberglass after bringing it home . The dealer hired a professional fiberglass worker to patch on forest rivers dime . They matched it perfectly and i never had a issue of it recracking
Get an attorney and reach out to local media outlets to run this as a news report. Finally file a BBB complaint against the dealership and Jayco.
