I wonder how many in the rather bemused audience realised they were seeing a recreation of one of rock music's most iconic moments. Chapeau! to all involved
yes. what you said !!!!!
Probably non of them :/ But hopefully the performance popped their curiosity enough to discover Beefheart!
Not many. Maybe the little kid.
Well is'nt it obvious😊
Sure 'Nuff@@MichelleAhern-gr9zl
Brilliant 👍
I rate this performance...
_Fast and bulbous!_
And I shed _a tin tear drop..._ 😢
They must be running on laser beans!
@@46metube The original Mascara Snake has a great interview on YT about working with DVV. Check out 'from Straight to Bizarre' for great info on the creation of TMR.
Saw the captain 2x once in Poughkeepsie at the CHANCE his stuff is still light years away
"BULBOUS.....also tapered"

Dang, you guys did a great job. Beefheart's music is not something easily replicated.
Very ambitious indeed
Unless you have a trout mask…☝️🤔😼

...or better yet, a replica.
Well done for even having the bottle to try and recreate this piece of musical history!
Jes, Djeezes...!
And do it justice
bottle is empty...fill it up with yo yo your own shit baby...now its yesterday...
That would have been good to be there
Well!!!
Pretty damn Good!!!......
Absolutely glorious tribute. RIP The Captain
Well, looking at this again, I have to thank our British brothers and sisters for giving so much support to The Captain and the Magic Band, because they were pretty much unknown in the US except for San Fran and L.A. They were living off their moms for many years, and of course their moms aren't gonna let 'em starve.
Well gee, we knew 'em in plenty in Philly, and fed them too 💜
I clicked this thinking it was vintage, what a nice surprise! These guys really capture the Beefheart experience on so many levels! Very cool to see this music being kept alive!
I'm a newcomer to beefheart....aged 64
My copy of SAFE AS MILK just arrived today ....and brought me here
Don't be knocking these guys
Hard to cover....and just wonderful
thanks for your comment, James - more on our little project here: alandunn67.co.uk/beefheart2.html
Your too old fuck off this is shit. go watch the original you geriatric cunt
Wonderful reenactment of my FAVOURITE moment in musical history which set me off on a 53 YEAR obsession..
Glad you enjoyed, Paul, was like the world's smallest music festival - one band, one song!
Worth it!
Brilliant! A wonderful homage. ❤
This is so sick. One of my favorite captain songs. Y’all did fantastic!! Love the get ups too
Incomparable e inolvidable mr. Don Van Vliet!!
Wow, that was amazing.
And near the end, to top off the surrealism, we can briefly see the singers top dentures drop
nice pick up, that happened to me singing for my band long ago, a flipper tooth came flying out, hahahhahahahahah,
Do you remember the Broadway show Beatlemania, with its tag line, "Not the Beatles, but an incredible simulation"? Well, here is...Beefheartmania!!! Well done, gang! You put a big smile on the face of this old time Beefheart fanatic.
these guys need to be the first band in space
Hahaha hahaha 😆 yeah!!
They probably already are….
@@peterlawson777 high voltage!
Bravo!
I'm old enough to remember this when first released...damn good job...🤗🤗
oh man this is awesome. His voice sounds just like him thats crazy!
I have been waiting for decades for a generation of young musicians who would love and play some of the music of the psychedelic period of the 1960’s, and at last, a band that does so right down to appearance and sound. Well done! Well done indeed! RIP Don. dpb121621
You guys really did a great recreation!!!
Damn, the man’s still got it. Brilliant.
Good stuff guys...The Captain lives !
Absolutely brilliant!
Brought a massive smile to my face.
i was in the front row, sitting on the ground cross-legged. this scared the hell out of me. so intense !!! San Diego state college in about '74..... this is a great band. THANK YOU !!! i will be singing it tonight as i walk home from the public library. rockettebob in reno nevada
I know what you mean about being scared. I saw them for the first time in January '71, and the whole audience was scared shitless. They did a lot of 'Decals' stuff. When they finished the last song, there was stone silence for a couple of seconds while we gathered our wits enough to applaud.
This is the best cover of Captain Beefheart electricity ever, even if it's because it's the only cover of Captain Beefheart electricity ever.
Would you believe me if I told you that there's at least one more, and that it was made by Sonic Youth?
(This is still the best cover, though)
Watching this again ,,this is a mind blowing performance,,absolutely on the money ,bizarre yet the music is sick ,,brilliant in every form the guys teeth falling out I can relate to this,it’s adds to the scene,,in fact it’s fucking brilliant
I'm a Beefheart freak & his music is always so complex. I have sympathy for all his musicians trying to create it but especially the drumming. Must be hell to keep the beat.
Bravo excellent job all around!
Brilliant!
I'm so impressed that was excellent! 🍀
Love it

The Captain was so inspirational. Great to see his legacy is still creating young gun groups.
One of the best Beefheart covers I’ve eve seen

Wow, that warble-shriek at the end... it was like he was practically eating the microphone!
So Good.........

True art lives forever!!!!!!

Awesome !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Wow - so wonderfully captured!
Well done on recreating Beefheart. Enoyed it. Excellent.
Sweet, I was listening to Bongo fury and this was in the feed. I'm impressed, really impressed 👏
Most very well done gentlemen, from one that was there when Mr. Van Vliet was alive and making the most cutting edge sounds of his generation!!!
Damn fine job to these guys! Never seen this replicated before. I have seen quite a few bands trying to replicate Floyd's Live at Pompeii but never this. Big kudos especially to the bassist and his lampshade!
Excellent. Always nice to see the captain beefheart legacy continue
In all my years I never heard the like - travelled miles for the privilege of one of his UK appearances would say no bad things about his art either - we owe a lot to that band.
I enjoyed that. Spot on tribute.
fantastic , i love that captain
Amazing! The Captain would have loved this!
Captain beefheart and the overcast band
Love it
Just awesome! Time travel
I have always wanted to cover CB. never met folks who could help me and not sure I am up to the task myself,. these guys did this. not a chance in hell it was easy..my god this is a quality beefheart cover.

I dig the lamp shade hat.
This is very groovy and I love the clothes.
Thank you. This is wonderful!!!
fantastic, what a blast that must have been to organize and play, i'm smiling ear to ear,
Would love to see these guys playing up here on Tyneside ! Met the good Captain in 1974 at The Newcastle City Hall, very quiet and shy guy but took time out to sit and talk about all sorts of stuff.
Fantastic job!
marvelous and encouraging
How did I not know about this? Excellent! Amazing tribute!
Excellent performance
this is truly fabulous... thanks for modernising my memories
thanks! And for all the positive responses to this project ... so pleasing to be keeping it alive.
Uncanny and brilliant.
incredible!
amazing replication. highlights the genus of it.
my fave track ...listened to 1000 times trippin years ago
brilliant - we got our band to just play it over and over for a bemused but happy Bank Holiday crowd in New Brighton :)
I love the bass player's hat
Not only a Beefheart tribute but a damn good one.

Beefheart drum parts have GOT to be the most fun to play.
