  • Located in the narrow streets of Pondicherry, this house explores the idea of modern minimalist architecture adopting the principles of tropical architecture and design.
The main aim is to create well-connected spaces between inside and outside where both built space and landscape complement each other and bring a unique kind of experience within.
#MyGreatFacade is a series presented by Fenesta Windows in association with #Buildofy
Designed as a combination of public and private spaces designed to cater to the needs of the family, the idea is to build a home that would represent the new generation.
To download the full PDF eBook of Le Tranquil in Pondicherry with floor plans, materials used, construction techniques and so much more, please visit: www.buildofy.com/projects/le-...
A dynamic facade, green courtyards in setbacks, a central water court, and the use of wooden and concrete textures are some key highlights of the project. The Principal Architect and the Associate Architect walk through the house and explain how they designed a well thought architectural insert between the existing buildings.

Nice but too much edges and corners are 90° angled. Dangerous point load if any bone hits that. Why don't engineers understand that homes are built for humans and not robots? God, just get inspired from old buildings.

Too many concepts included in this house, various walls, various floorings. House is extremely dim inspite of the courtyard, should have increased skylight. Although as many pocket gardens included, house does not give the relaxing feels due to distortion around. The water body in closed enclosure will begin to smell in weeks/days, should have placed it in entryway.

No offense to any of these modern architects, but the sustainability, functionality and usability of these spaces look so damn hampered with the “beautification” and other fancy aspects mentioned. I too had a bad experience with a kerala architect recently who was hell-bent on aesthetics rather than common-sense design that fit our area and even climatic conditions. Sometimes I feel these architects just want to satisfy their urge to create something “beautiful” rather than doing a functional design for their clients who actually have to shell insurmountable amounts to make this a reality!!!

Cumbersome and impractical internal design. Too many steps with elevation and drops like water body. Waterbody looks a trench triggering trip-offs. Indoor water body will become stinky overtime.

Very compact and sensible use of the space with a classy touch all over. Way better than those multimillion interiors which normally the Blr & Gujju architects use. Kudos team
