I think what's even crazier about The Cleansing is that they recorded the whole thing live. Easily my favorite from them, but I'm a pretty big fan of their first three albums.
@@themetalmeltdownofficial I have so many great memories of secretly rocking out to the cleansing back in the day but my favorite would actually be the black crown since YOLO was my first exposure to them. R.I.P Mitch
Currently watching this whilst dealing with Covid right now. Pretty great to watch a video to deal with virus. Anyway, yeah we knew that the self-titled would not get a high score at all.
Something interesting about the S/T Suicide Silence album is that reportedly Ross Robinson tried to recreate the magic he did with bands like Korn & Slipknot by pushing the band to their limits in one way or another. Doing stuff like messing with band members so they'd go into a certain negative mindset, as well as trying to keep things in the raw and do things in as few of takes as they could, including refusing to let Eddie do more takes of his vocals on certain tracks, with the "tee hee" vocals on Doris being a prime example of that. I feel like that sort of method would only work in a certain environment where everyone was on roughly the same page, and I get the feeling they weren't. That makes me wonder if a lot of the press with them defending the record was them trying to salvage a project where they went in with the idea of an evolution or reinvention, but it turned into a total mess and they hoped it at least sold something so it wouldn't be a total loss. That's what I would assume based on what I've heard, but for all we know they wanted it to be kind of a mess and the end project just wasn't good. Hard to really say. Great video!
fun fact: The Cleansing is the first ever "extreme metal" album I've ever heard. it took me awhile to get into, especially after hearing Mitch's vocals. I was not a fan to say the least. my little baby pea brain wasn't ready for harsh vocals, for blast beats, for breakdowns. then one day it just clicked, and I just had to buy it on CD. this album shown me the road to cannibal corpse and Death, so thanks Suicide Silence. I appreciate ya
I feel like this is the first time I’ve seen someone say something good about Become the hunter. I quite liked it and I pretty much agree with what you said about it being what we should have gotten after black crown. What do you think about the new singles btw?
The Cleansing is the album that opened me up to the whole Suicide Silence, Whitechapel, Chelsea Grin gig. No pity for a coward shreds. Whitechapel in my opinion is the band that rose to the top tho. That being said.... I still listen to Suicide Silence..... And early Chelsea Grin is brutal, although their new stuff..... Sux.
Which Band would i like to see reviewed in this format? Bring me the Horizon. their earlier albums are rather...crazy. the debut album sometimes sounding near Melodic Death Metal and tons of Deathcore too. i think it would make for an interesting Video reviewing all their albums
As someone who never heard them before, I actually didn't hate the S/T at all when it came out. It has some fun songs! But it has a looooott of missteps too
The self titled album was on my rotation a lot. Mainly because I lost my dad two months prior and I was depressed and sad and that album was just so disappointing that it made me depressed and sad lol 😂. The weird shit I did to cope with what was going on.
I quit alcohol for 3years. Still love metal. Alcohol makes me depro. You still young. Enjoy. When married. Stop or take less of it. Was an alcholic for 10 years. Love your videos.
Personally, I may be in the minority, but I really do think that You Can't Stop Me is their best record. To me it has their most memorable tunes, great vocal performances, and just killer instrumentation. Again, I'm probably in the minority, but it really is my favorite Suicide Silence record.
I’d like to be a guest on an Asking Alexandria album ranking. They have had an interesting career; always consistently being in a midlife crisis thanks to one elephant in the room (that being their vocalist Danny Worsnop).
On the 4th album (you can’t stop me) the lyrics are also a problem as they go from one thing to another aimlessly. He tried for highs, like Lucker & they’re pitchy, shrill & obnoxious mostly, where on All Shall Perish albums he went mostly low guttural & that fits him much better (although they’re newest music sounds really good, in fact best to date with Hermida)
I'm in the minority of people who prefer the Eddie era over the Mitch era. There's just something about Eddie's voice that speaks to me more. 'You Can't Stop Me' is my in my top 10 albums of all time, and "Sacred Words" is my second favorite song of all time,
I couldn’t even finish that self-titled 2017 album. It was the only album I’ve ever heard that was so bad that it made me physically ill listening to it.
Suicide Silence have a really inconsistent Discog TeeeHeeee lol but the Mitch Lucker (RIP) era is still some of the best in Deathcore. the Cleansing is easily my favorite of theirs and is in my top 5 Deathcore albums.
Eddie doesn't sound remotely like he used to in all shall perish. It sounds like a completely different person. Not sure what happened to his vocals but in Eddie's prime in ASP, he 100% coulda hung with Mitch.
As far as deathcore icons go I much much prefer Whitechapel to Suicide Silence but I have to say that I think The Cleansing, You Can’t Stop Me and The Black Crown are pretty gnarly and a fun time, well as fun as songs about death and bleeding and killing can be of course. No Pity for a Coward is my favorite song by them that fucking hook is so goddamn infectious
My favorite would be the hunter, i really dig their new sound. The self titled album is so bad i just can't listen to it as a whole, i give up after 3-4 tracks.....it sounds like linkin park i can't stand it.
Never really liked these guys I'd heard dying fetus and pathology so it seemed bland kinda like trying to get into hardcore punk and hearing siege then trying to listen to black flag
I think what's even crazier about The Cleansing is that they recorded the whole thing live. Easily my favorite from them, but I'm a pretty big fan of their first three albums.
OH SHIT REALLY? I didn't know that, thats fucking great.

Makes that live, chaotic energy translate even more perfectly. No click, no edits, just letting them crank out bangers
ive been obsessed with the cleansing for weeks recently. idk why
Never heard a Suicide Silence tune in my life... but I watched anyway because I like your style of review!
The Cleansing will always be the best deathcore album. Pure nasty heaviness 11/10
Currently watching this whilst dealing with Covid right now. Pretty great to watch a video to deal with virus.

Sorry to hear that bud, get better soon.

Maybe I’ll check the SS catalogue out now. Can you do a Suffocation discography review video?
Suicide Silence really got me into deathcore while I don't listen to much deathcore now I still throw on The Cleansing an absolute classic

Now that you did every Suicide SIlence album, you gotta review every Whitechapel album!
Maybe some day but I'm in no rush.
The cleansing is top tier
Honestly I'm a big fan of their self titled album
I quit alcohol for 3years. Still love metal. Alcohol makes me depro. You still young. Enjoy. When married. Stop or take less of it. Was an alcholic for 10 years. Love your videos.
First two albums are Deathcore classics for sure, the others are generally decent to good except the Self Titled
Personally, I may be in the minority, but I really do think that You Can't Stop Me is their best record. To me it has their most memorable tunes, great vocal performances, and just killer instrumentation. Again, I'm probably in the minority, but it really is my favorite Suicide Silence record.

Honestly, im game. Hit me up on Instagram or Discord and we'll make it happen.
@@themetalmeltdownofficial i’ll do it in the coming week.
No Time to Bleed is my favorite Suicide Silence album. Honestly I like it even more than The Cleansing.
Same
Whitechapel or the acacia strain next plssss

oo castlevania IV
Suicide Silences first 3 albums are soooo fucking good its crazy. mitch wouldve changed the whole deathcore genre if we got a 4th album with him
This has nothing to do with the video but have you heard vermin fate they're pretty cool
Not that I'm aware of.
@The Metal Meltdown I'd recommend checking them out if you want to hear a cool new fantasy thrash/hardcore/rock band.
My favorite would be the hunter, i really dig their new sound. The self titled album is so bad i just can't listen to it as a whole, i give up after 3-4 tracks.....it sounds like linkin park i can't stand it.
The cleansing is a goated death core record. To this day I think it’s the best one ever.
A top 10 deathcore album for sure.
