Happy New Year Metal Meltdown. Some of my most anticipated metal albums of 2025 are the new Killswitch Engage, Obscura, Saor, Harakiri for the Sky, Imperial Triumphant, Shadows Fall, and Deftones albums. When it comes to non metal albums, I’m looking forward to the new Weeknd and FKA Twigs albums.
There’s two albums coming fairly soon that I’m excited for: Parasomnia from Dream Theater and This Consequence from Killswitch Engage. Personally been enjoying the singles so far, so bring on February 🤘🏻
These are great things to look forward to! I’m especially excited for Imperial Triumphant. There’s also the new Messa album (premiering at Roadburn), a Mizmor & Hell collab in the works, and a Pallid Veil debut in the works (Dave Davidson, Liam Wilson, Elliot Hoffman, and Luc Lemay supergroup).
Happy New Year Metal Meltdown, and F___K Thrasin' Jackson he can put up with some noise! Ahamkara sounds very intriguing. I'll keep an ear out for it because it's not a band I'm familiar with. I don't know details, but there are rumblings that the Red Chord are working on a new album, and if that's the case I am hyped to hear it as they are one of my favourite bands! While I'm conflicted about new Nevermore because the new vocalist will have HUGE shoes to fill, I am intrigued to hear a new offering from them.
New Obscura album coming out February, Destructon in March, Bleed from Within in April. New Triptykon album expected 2025, no release date yet. Onslaught have been teasing a 2025 album pretty hard on their social media for a while now, no release date. Revocation, The Haunted and Inferi were all in the studio recording new albums around mid-2024, but no announcments regarding release dates for these as far as I'm aware. Coroner confirmed they have already recorded a bunch of material for their first new album since 1993(!), so at least some chance of that coming out in 2025. Looking forward to all of these. I'm sure there are some more I've forgotten about for now. From those mentioned in the video, definitely looking forward to The Halo Effect, Arch Enemy and especially Cryptosis, as well as Fractal Universe, Anthrax, Testament.
Happy New Year! Pretty sure Warbringer worked on new album earlier this year. Really hoping that album comes out sooner than later. Their past two albums have been killer!!!
Spiritbox, Killswitch Engage, Dream Theater and Jinjer are definitely on the radar this year. Also, I got three contenders for our pal Hector from Chill Dude on a Couch's wild series "Is It That Bad" in there so far, those being All That Remains, Architects and Lordi.
Happy new Years,Melty. Happy new years, Thrashin Jackson. YESSSSSSS GO CRAZY MELTY. BE RUDE BE RUTHLESS!!!! Ill be excited for Imperial Triumphant, Evoken, Havukruunu, Whitechapel, Avulsed Retromorphosis Debut Im hyped for, especially with there being 4 members of Spawn of possession on it. I expect Tech Death Goodness. Would love a new Revocation album tbh CAN WE PLEASE GET NEW GORGUTS, PLEASE LUC, PLEASE!!!!
I would love new Gorguts but I know Luc Lemay is gonna take his damn time on that lmao, not gonna get hyped up for something that could take another couple years to have any info about.
Looking much forward to new music! Speaking of which, you have to check out this new release from Estuarine called “Corporeal Furnace”. I think its psychadelic avant-garde death metal sound is right up your alley!
The Halo Effect and Harakiri for sure 🤘🏽 Also Vermilia, Serenity In Murder, Paleface Swiss, Saor, Ereb Altor, Great Old Ones, Obscura and there is also a new Vintersorg album in the making 😍
Damn, this year is gonna be a good one! I just posted a video of all the records I bought on vinyl and CD. And now that it’s done, and now that I can see the list of bands/genres I picked up, I’m noticing a little expansion of the horizons, you might say? I’m not saying I was a Thrashin’ Jackson or anything. I mean, for many years, I felt stuck and lost with nowhere to go. Now, I feel like a kid in a candy store again, just as did when I was a teenager! So, I’m looking forward to new music from old favorites like Megadeth and Anthrax, as well as younger bands of different subgenres. Bands such as: Temple of Void, Nite, Savage Master, Riot City, DRAIN, Power Trip, Evilcult, RAM, Cauldron… (Those last two are strictly wishful thinking) I’ve totally fell in love with music again, and I’m definitely mentally healthier because of it. I loved watching this video and the intro was hilarious. Well done, Robert!
I will predict Swartadauþuz will release several albums this year. Which band or bands? No clue but he always has a lot to release each year. I'm excited for that new Havukruunu, Imperial Triumphant, Blackbraid III and Harakiri for the Sky
Lovely. Stoked to see what this year will bring. For some reason my other comment disappeared, so I'll type another one. Looking forward to: - Blackbraid (did enjoy Blackbraid II a good bit, and need to listen to I) - Dream Theater (again, not necessarily one of my favourites, but I do always find some songs that I enjoy) - Imperial Triumphant (Spirit Of Ecstasy is a 5/5 for me, and Alphaville and Vile Luxury are 4.5/5s, so definitely super excited, probably my most anticipated. I mostly base my ratings on pure enjoyment of the totality, so that'll continue further in this comment and might blasphemous to some (warning)) - Korn (not necessarily one of my favourite bands anymore, but I always enjoy their work to some extent) - Mgla (have only heard Exercises in Futility, but I really enjoyed it, so I'm quite excited) - Swans (not metal, but probably my favourite experimental rock band (highly recommend their triad albums of The Seer, To Be Kind and The Glowing Man, the latter two being 5/5s, and several 4.5/5 albums as well. I think you'll enjoy them!)) Expecting albums from: - Between the Buried and Me (I think they've quietly been cooking something. Loved Colors II, as much as Colors and Parallax II, all being 4.5/5s to me) - Deftones (I enjoy all of their albums. Several of their albums are 4.5/5s for me, the last one was Koi No Yokan. I still enjoy their later work, though) - Gojira (they've been active lately. Enjoy every album of theirs, but From Mars to Sirius is a clear 5/5, and The way of all flesh is a 4.5/5. I hope they make something more focused than their previous two albums. They were a bit inconsistent, I think) - Mastodon (I can basically copy-paste what I said about Gojira, Crack the Skye being a 5/5, and Leviathan being a 4.5/5, and I enjoyed Hushed and Grim more than the last three albums, gave it a 4/5. - Protes the Hero (I kind of expect an album from them, as Rody has talked about it behind the screens, and been uploading some test clips. Volition is a 5/5, Palimpsest is a 4.5/5. I also love their early work, also being 4.5/5s for me, while Scurrilous and Pacific Myth are 4/5s. Such a consistent run in my opinion) Hope albums from: - Ad Nauseam (I don't have too high hopes, as their craft really needs extra time to perfect. Imperative Imperceptible Impulse is a 5/5 , and Nihil Quam Vacuitas Ordinatum Est a 4.5/5) - At The Gates (it's about time, I think. Really enjoyed their last two) - Carcass (not expecting anything, but it would be lovely before they get too old. I enjoy Heartwork, Surgery Steel and Torn Arteries equally as much, all being 4.5/5s to me) - Converge (been a while, and I could see a follow-up to Blood Moon I, though I wasn't too excited about that. They could definitely improve their approach. I greatly enjoyed The Dusk in Us) - Gorguts (Colored Sands is a 5/5, and Obscura a 4.5/5. Again, no high hopes regarding an album this year. They like to take their time, but I'm sure that they'll rival the very best modern avant-garde dissonant bands like Ad Nauseam and Imperial Triumphant) - Mr. Bungle (please just release something. The rerecording of the Easter Bunny Demo was good, but I'm here for some goofy and weird debut to California stuff, all being 4.5/5s (might bump one, but the two first 2-3 lesser songs, and the last one might have gone a little too accessible (the songs aren't as interesting, but it's certainly a bit more consistent overall)), or even totally different but just as odd. Nobody can do them injustice this time like Red Hot Chili Peepees did. Would also love Faith No More to reunite and drop a last album) - Portal (about time, I think. Not as big a fan of them as other avant-garde acts, but I do appreciate some of their songs, and the album Vexovoid) - Tomahawk (I enjoy all of their albums. I guess one can call them diet Mr. Bungle. Their release schedules are very unpredictable, though) - Tool (been a while now, but they also like to take their time, and their previous album was just good)
Here is who I want a new album from: Death metal: Revocation, Rivers of Nihil, Artificial Brain, Decapitated, Fallujah Black Metal: Imperial Triumphant, Panopticon, Blackbraid Thrash: Testament, Exodus, Death Angel, Annihilator, Havok, Vektor (Basically, my same comment from Metal Trenches anticipated albums video.)
I'm most looking forward to the new Bloodywood album "Nu Delhi", as their debut was my AOTY for 2022, and they embody all the best qualities of what modern metal does best: Mashing in unique cultural influences and styles into absolutely banging metal grooves! I know you don't usually care for Power Metal, but I highly recommend the new Dynazty coming out in February. Their output has been extremely consistent over the past few years, with some exceptional lyric writing and song-crafting that really should make them a bigger name than they are! Also Avantasia, if for no other reason than they're paying to use classic artwork for their album cover instead of A.I slop scraping. Need I say more?
The 6th album from Russian Folk Atmospheric Black Metal band GRIMA will be coming out Feb 28th on Napalm Records. I love this project. It's absolutely fantastic. Check out their previous albums which were released on Naturmacht Productions. Highly recommend checking them out.
Most anticipated release for me is new Shadow of Intent, then there’s new Grima, Whitechapel, hopefully a new Hath album?? Maybe something from Ashen? I would really love something new from Burial in the Sky but that’s most likely not gonna happen…
@themetalmeltdownofficial Yeah man! They posted a video and saying they sent the demo songs to their record label. It's coming!!! Their debut Vast Reaches Unclaimed was my album of the year (2023). Them and Katatonia helped me through 2023 and part of 2024 as well. So excited!!!
I'm excited to see Patriarkh, ex batushka, new album coming out on the 3rd. The singles are all well written. It's a great blend of atmospheric black metal with polish folk instruments.
I'm worried about the new Imperial Triumphant. Eye of Mars sounds like Behemoth 2.0.. are they done with the art deco jazz sound? Keeping my hopes up that they're not.
I'm mostly looking forward to the new Dream Theater album. I've also heard that Anthrax, Testament, Helloween, Ghost, Gojira, and Avantasia are releasing new music this year. If that's the case, I am HYPED
new Testament album will be out in summer 2025 same for new King Diamond album for new Exodus and Anthrax albums no release date yet but maybe they will be out in spring/summer or fall
“Heavy metal in Iran is basically illegal”. The way the USA is heading it’s gonna be illegal there soon too. Seriously, wouldn’t be surprised to see some states get started on that this year. Unless it’s “unblack” of course (bleeurgh).
Its certainly possible. Worth mentioning that Project 2025 outright called for banning porn and violent video games. But hey, at least the libs got owned and eggs will be cheaper or whatever.
@ learn something about metal then get back at me, dunce ass. That has to do with opinion, anyway. But it’s a goddamn fact that what u said is ridiculous. Arch Enemy “brutal” roflmmfao
This video is awesome! Lots of goodies for sure! Hey it would be a huge honor and favor if you would listen yo our new 20 track album Eviscerate and give us a review! Would be much appreciated! Kickass video dude! 🙏 🤘🌪🤘 music.ua-cam.com/play/OLAK5uy_moeanw5ZW2a_705aIdPtE89fo_13PGxus.html&si=jdGqTMQbgNi36TsY

Ooooo new Blackbraid, I'm down for that
Ahh Thrashin Jackson cuddling with Chompy ❤
I’m this Thrashin Jackson today and I didn’t even party 😂
Chompy better enjoy that time while it lasts
Happy New Year Metal Meltdown. Some of my most anticipated metal albums of 2025 are the new Killswitch Engage, Obscura, Saor, Harakiri for the Sky, Imperial Triumphant, Shadows Fall, and Deftones albums. When it comes to non metal albums, I’m looking forward to the new Weeknd and FKA Twigs albums.
New Shadows Fall should be cool, forgot about that. Aside of metal I'm also pumped for Ethel Cain and clipping.
@themetalmeltdownofficial I’m pumped for Clipping too. One of the best experimental hip hop groups.
Happy new year! I can’t wait for Imperial Triumphant, and I’d like to see if we get new IA (fingers crossed) and the new Whitechapel should be fun
There’s two albums coming fairly soon that I’m excited for: Parasomnia from Dream Theater and This Consequence from Killswitch Engage. Personally been enjoying the singles so far, so bring on February 🤘🏻
The new jinjer spiritbox and arch enemy

Excited about Havukruunu. Interested to hear the new Grima album, now signed to Napalm. An Abstract Illusion & Be'lakor have recorded new music

Triptykon 🥳
As far as Triptykon is concerned, I'll believe when I see it. New Coroner could definitely be cool though.
hymns in dissonance for me, a visceral wretch was fucking tasty
naked whipper are supposed to drop this year after 30-ish years of inactivity, pretty excited for that :3
Great band
I’m very excited for the new Killswitch Engage album! I’m also excited for All That Remains, Havukruunu, Dream Theater, Century and Spiritbox.
I'm very interested in the new Bleed From Within and Bury Tomorrow albums
Mgla, Wardruna, Saor, Grima, Jinjer, Dream Theater, Lacuna Coil. Happy New Year :)
Are there any news of a neq Mgła record?
Happy New Year! Pretty sure Warbringer worked on new album earlier this year. Really hoping that album comes out sooner than later. Their past two albums have been killer!!!

I hope Nite puts out something new, they had my favorite album of 2022.
@ It’s dropping in March. Yeah, that was my favorite of that year, too.
@@BrainPollution Great news! February and March will be busy months for new releases for me, now I got another one to add.
What an exciting packed year! Imperial Triumphant and Havukruunu are my most antecipated.
Paleface Swiss is coming out swinging this Friday.

Just pre-ordered the new Havukruunu. Everything they’ve put out this far has been fantastic!
New Testament album!
Old Testament album
Why
Yep, that'll be interesting to hear! 🙂
I would love to have a new Be’lakor album 🤷🏽♂️
Every album of there's is so good. I totally agree!
Here is who I want a new album from:
Death metal: Revocation, Rivers of Nihil, Artificial Brain, Decapitated, Fallujah
Black Metal: Imperial Triumphant, Panopticon, Blackbraid
Thrash: Testament, Exodus, Death Angel, Annihilator, Havok, Vektor

I'm actually shocked they didn't drop something in 2024, seemed certain.
@@themetalmeltdownofficial I know right, I expected at least a couple of singles.
Mgla! And hopefully a new An Abstract Illusion
My most anticipated album of 2025 is ”Hymns in Dissonance” by Whitechapel
Also new Deftones, Satyricon, and Cradle of Filth this year. And potentially new Dimmu Borgir, finally (even though Galder left).
New King Diamond album would be great but I'm not holding my breath.
Testament, Destruction and Majesties for me
new Majesties? tight.
@themetalmeltdownofficial

Triptykon gotta be the one for me. Hyped up for Arch Enemy, Testament and the possible long awaited new Gorguts
Triptykon is my most anticipated album release by far
Happy New Year Brotha!
I'd love to have a new ONSLAUGHT album...for me the best kind of Thrash Metal. Sure Thrashin Jackson would love it too ;-)
Generation Antichrist hammered all the way through. So im looking forward to it.
Should be coming out in 2025. They've been teasing it pretty hard without giving any actual details.
I'm worried about the new Imperial Triumphant. Eye of Mars sounds like Behemoth 2.0.. are they done with the art deco jazz sound? Keeping my hopes up that they're not.
I dunno what you're talkin about bud, sure sounded like Imperial Triumphant to me.
I do believe mastodon has been working on new music. With their tour coming up I'm hoping that it releases before they start touring.
oooo, if thats true I'm game. Really liked "Hushed & Grim".
@themetalmeltdownofficial they did a collab last year with lamb of God which was pretty epic. They seem to just keep getting better.
Update: mastodon album for sure this year, possibly with a supernatural horror theme on the album.@@themetalmeltdownofficial
I'm mostly looking forward to the new Dream Theater album. I've also heard that Anthrax, Testament, Helloween, Ghost, Gojira, and Avantasia are releasing new music this year. If that's the case, I am HYPED
i am very pump too for Blood Dynasty of Arch Enemy!
I'm personally hyped for the new Skinless album! Awesome brutal death metal band, they don't miss imo, it will be their first album in 7 years.
Got that Scour on pre-order!
Hoping for an all whitechapel albums ranked video before their new album comes out this year
I'm more than anything hoping for a new Triptykon album to finally land in 2025.. 🙏
Here's hoping, been too long.
New Patriarkh drops tomorrow!
new Testament album will be out in summer 2025 same for new King Diamond album for new Exodus and Anthrax albums no release date yet but maybe they will be out in spring/summer or fall
Scour is awesome. Got my vinyl pre-order.
Harakiri for the sky and Blood Dynasty I'm pretty hype for. Whitechapel is gonna be good and Loathe will probably be dropping too
I'm shocked Loathe haven't yet dropped something, here's hoping 2025 is the year that changes.
I'm Excited for new Arion album The Light That Burns The Sky
Arion's Vultures Die Alone is so good.
New Avulsed is gonna crush
New Killswitch Engage and Spiritbox. Also Whitechapel and Deftones coming with new stuff.
i really f hope tht blackened Death metal Masters TEITANBLOOD will release a new album this year.....its soon 6 years since Baneful Choir came out...
I think ive heard that Mastodon and Lamb of God are both gonna start making music soon. Ill take both
Mastodon, yes. Lamb Of God, meh. Their last couple of albums haven't done much for me.
2025 looks promising.
Shadow of intent, dream theater, and hopefully btbam!!! Let's go!
Shadow Of Intent and BTBAM would be great for sure
MIRAR DROPPED A FULL LENGTH TODAY
I am hoping for a new album by Black/Death outfit Paradise in Flames, from Brazil. I heard they are working on new music...

The new whitechapel record is gonna hit hard 🤘
Burn Down Eden album due out end of January looks good 😉
Mgła is coming....
Harakiri for the Sky should rule.
Definitely. I've got the promo copy, I'll probably jam it real soon.
Wharflurch...they have just dropped 2 what I consider great singles...
Wasp need a new album ! The last album was great..🤘🇬🇧

SCOUR 4 LIFE
Arch Enemy parting way with Jeff Loomis, just goes to show that Michael Amott doesn’t like better players than him in a band.
