- In this After Effects motion graphic tutorial we are going to be taking a look at how to make a black hole in After Effects. Basically this is how to produce gravitational lensing effect in After Effects CC.

Instead of copy-pasting the position keyframes - you can ALT+click the position stopwatch in the Shape layer and link it to the Knot animation. Doing it like this is much better because if there are changes to be made, you only need to change one animation - the other will follow along.

Any way to make this working when working with 3D Layers and camera? As you dont move the black circle, but the camera, you dont get the proper distortion.
Show a video on how to make this thing follow a motion path.

Im doing everything the same way but cant seem to get the position of the shape layer to perfectly match the position of the flo motion effect. it follows it but its off to the side

thats actually what the issue was. Ive redone this effect several times and its either the scale of the layer or the anchor point on the shape that I always have to adjust.
So I don't know how to make the background

So i'm trying to copy the knot1 with the shape position. The shape moves similarly to knot1 position but it has some delay. How do I make sure the shape follows knot1 position?
If the object is scaled or a 3D object you may have some problems
I am new to after effects.. I have 2 questions -
1. How do you get the distortion of image go around the black hole? I'm using the same effect with same settings but everything is getting pulled in, instead of going around the circle.
2. Is it just me or do you also get "gradient lines" after rendering your videos. I am talking about the smoke effect. I can see the same pattern at 4:00 but mine look uglier.
